Another birthday ...
birthday cake

So here I embark on the sixty ninth anniversary of my birth. The the advent of my 69th year finds me retired, leisurely, and bored out of my ever loving mind.

If I didn't have a sophisticated server cluster on a 5 node public network to keep me busy I really would go crazy.

Everybody keeps telling me how I'm not "really" old. People are mistaking me for being 20 to 30 years younger than I actually am. I'm afraid that all of this simply is not sinking in to say the least. However ...

Happy Birthday to me.

Unfairly Prosecuted Persons Day 2024
    Trump
Unfair prosecution used to be the purview of European tyrants and their sycophants.

Unfortunately, the brigand democrat party and their stupid boot licking voters have pursued the opposition candidate in the 2024 election unfairly in a weponized judicial system which has become known as "lawfare" and what began in the Obama administration has carried over to his senile vice president Biden in his own STOLEN administration.

Know this, democrats:

You have incurred the wrath of more voters than JUST me.

It is our mission to vote you out of office by any means necessary.

You are the curs who would engage in unwarranted criminal prosecution for political ends and New York in particular is going to regret their New York Attorney General the Soros whore Letitia James and Soros acolyte Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Leonard Bragg Jr.

This will never be over.

New York will always be remembered as the state without fairness and the weaponized center of unfair prosecution upon the earth as will Fani Willis of Atlanta Georgia.

Thus we hold our own day of remembrance for the aggression against candidates in communist New York, in their event called the Unfairly Prosecuted Persons Day which is observed each year on April 13.

We will remember your shoddy treatment of a patriot and will never go away you three democrat whores of Babylon and George Soros, the enemy of the free world.

Day of Silence 2024
coffin
Ah, our continuing LGBTQ mess. It's likely been around since people have been around.

Time was it was kept in the closet where it belonged.

Nowadays, too many want to flaunt their aberrant sexuality inappropriately incurring the wrath of a lot of "straight" people in their midst.

Today is the so-called Day of Silence. It has been around since 1996 and is held on April 12 this year.

Ostensibly, it is meant to provide a reason to whine about the rejection LGBTQ pervs feel regarding their level of acceptance in society and wonder why the sicko immoral unscrupulous vote grubbing democrats are the only ones who "accept" them.

So while I remain a staunchly "live and let live" person and stay out of the personal affairs of others, LGBTQ individuals may wish to consider just how much some of us would like to silence permanently those we consider to be deviants.

Happy Day of Silence you debauched, debased, profane, vitiated human beings you. Diverse that fudge packers and carpet munchers. Hopefully, at least you're not so stupid as to think you can be the opposite sex just because you "want" to regardless of your chromasomes.

Jonathan Winters passed 11 years ago
    Jonathan Winters
A longstanding favorite comic of mine was Jonathan Winters.

I used to revel in his antics as a character actor on television when I was a much younger man. He could phase through character after character while being interviewed.

His performance spheres included characters, improv, — and his spots on Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show became the stuff of comedic legend.

Jonathan Harshman Winters III was born November 11, 1925 in Dayton, Ohio. He married Eileen Schauder and they had two children.

He served in the US Marine Corps from 1943 through 1946 and attained the rank of corporal. He passed on this day in 2013 at Montecito, California at age 87 of natural causes having an active career from 1949 until his death.

He received many awards for his work over the course of his career but I feel that the esteem of his audience is the grandest testament to that who he was, the consumate comedic professional.

There have been many others who have come and gone and others who likewise were great at their crafts but none surpassed Jonathan Winters for versatility and downright funniness at every turn.

I hope he and Robin Williams are in the eternity sharing a few memories and laughs.

Rest in peace.
Jonathan Winters and Robin Williams

Encourage a Young Writer Day 2024
Young Writer
When I was young I did a lot of writing. Poetry, short stories, plays and such. It went pretty much unnoticed and without encouragement as nobody except my mother was really interested in me during those years.

I underwent a year or so of intense English grammar and syntax study due to my mother's dissatisfaction with my grades in a couple of areas. As time progressed this cascaded to my writing skills which improved as well as my general grasp of the English language.

Later in life I found myself at work writing things others published under their bylines and it was a frustrating world of stolen work and others assuming credit for things they could never do.

The words used were "let us use your writing because it's so much better than ours and after all we're all on the same team". I should have told the thief NO and quit. However, I relented resulting in their copyright being placed on my work and it becoming claimed as their property.

Today is Encourage a Young Writer Day. It is an annual April 10 occurance which is meant to inspire the natural storyteller in children.

It naturally cultivates vocabulary, creativity, imagination, and the discipline required to write. It is a time for ideas and dreams to come to life on the written page.

I hope you can take the opportunity to assist a young writer in their endeavors at becoming the next Samuel Langhorne Clemens or J K Rowling.

Happy Encourage a Young Writer Day to you.

Appomattox Day 2024
    Appomattox Courthouse 1865

One of the woke penchants of late is the revisionist history, changing what actually was to follow the narrative of the idiotic woke individuals touting these alterations.

Today is Appomattox Day, an annual April 9th ocurrence. It commerates the end of the Civil War, a conflict of four years duration in which too many Americans lost their lives to others of their own country.

On April 9, 1985, General Robert E Lee and the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia surrendered to Lt General Ulysses S Grant and soldiers from the Union army at the McLean House and thusly the terrible war was ended.

This sad history has been preserved as a reminder that we who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

The stupid democrats will see to it.

Solar eclipse 2024
total eclipse of the sun from north america
Today a total solar eclipse will take place across North Ameria.

An eclipse happens when the moon passes between the earth and sun overlaying the sun's image when viewed from the earth.

Totality in an eclipse infers that the perceived diameter of the moon exceeds that of the sun whereby all sunlight is blocked in the photosphere essentially turning daylight into darkness.

There is a lot of folklore and mess surrounding the portents of the total eclipse of the sun. I personally feel the bulk of it is a bunch of bunk.

A goodly amount of this is circulating presently.

I was able to view the last eclipse but will not have the experience with this one due to our position on the globe. It really doesn't faze me to miss the event in person. I have broadcast events I may follow as I desire.

Hopefully, you may get a glimpse of totality — and I hope you enjoy yourself ... but be careful as to the optical hazards of gazing directly into the sun.

I've caught a few eclipses over the years. I've always been careful and they have never failed to provide an interesting interlude in current events.

World Health Day 2024
the WHO is death
The World Health Organization — like it's parent, the United Nations — is a group of miscreant would-be world rulers out to usurp the sovereign rights of nations in favor of rule by decree from the:

☠  incompetent World Health Organization,

☠  the moronic United Nations,

☠  the overstepping World Economic Forum, and the

☠  insipid vision lacking Club of Rome.

The stupidity of those who have allowed these morons to control them is becoming the stuff of legend.

The Canadian government under Klaus Schwab's butt boy, woke ass Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is undergoing that discovery process which will be his (and their) downfall.

Canada is unjustly controlled by persons outside their jurisdiction who are ruling by decree — and many Canadians resent it to the nth degree.

These self ascribed EU "rulers" are neither qualified nor eligible to rule and enact governance with the quick, unchallenged dictate of law by a single entity without legislative approval. These stupid people do not rule the United States and the moron Biden will not be in office long enough to hand things over to them as he too wishes in all his incompetence and immoral criminality.

Then there will be subsequent a administration which will eliminate all the vast harm he has done to the Republic.

What stupid people to believe they could ever be in total charge of the planet as though posesssing some divine right of Kings.

Eurotrash. You will be squashed like the bugs you think we need to eat.

So April 7 is World Health Day. Death is headed your way courtesy of the UN, the WHO, the WEP, and the Club of Rome. Long, slow, painful and from the standpoint of serfdom.

Tartan Day 2024

Johnston plaid getup

Tartan Day is all about Scottish heritage.

It concerns the cultural contributions of Scottish and Scottish-diaspora throughout history.

There are games and strength competitions native to the highlands of Scotland.

There are food and textiles on display.

The name refers to tartan, a patterned wool cloth associated with Scotland.

The event began in Nova Scotia, Canada back in 1987.

It has spread to other communities of the Scottish diaspora and Scotland itself in the 1990s to 2000s.

Being of Scottish derivation myself, my only issues with present Tartan Day is the contamination of the Scottish soil by invading migrant foreigners who have turned the country into the woke piece of crap it has become.

These foreign people need to be deported and their gd muslim surnames stricken from the Scottish records.

Boo foreign invaders of Scotland.

You ruined the country and the locals don't seem to have what it takes to evict your asses.

Sooner or later some braveheart is bound to come to the rescue of the Scottish lands and reclaim them from the infidels.

I intend to be a part of the reclamation of my Scottish heritage from the nasty interlopers.

National Flash Drive Day 2024
SanDisk 512GB Ultra Dual Drive Luxe
I use a lot of flash drives in my activities anymore. My workstation maintains two permanent installs of SanDisk 512GB Ultra Dual Drive Luxe drives which I use for tertiary backups. These replaced the two 256GB Ultra Luxe drives which I relocated to an adjacent storage location.

I notice the performance of the half terrabyte drives to be somewhat lacking. The throughput is often choppy and delayed. I don't know if it's Sandisk or Microsoft ... but they're both pretty lame organizations as far as I am concerned.

The flash drive is a spin off of flash memory, invented by Dr Fujio Masuoka who was working for Toshiba.

The actual flash drive device is the brainchild of Israeli scientists working for M-Systems: Dov Moran, Oron Ogdan, and Amir Ban and they are the inventors of the chip which became the flash drive device itself. The name is derived by the quick erase properties of the memory such that it displaced other removable media such as the floppy.

April 5 as the official National Flash Drive Day which pays homage to that improvement in storage brought by these devices.

I think it's essential to pack a flash drive for those items I like to have access to when away from my machine. It is much less tedious than the plastic boxes full of floppies I used to cart around.

I hope you'll take a moment on this National Flash Drive Day to consider the benefits of this technology.

Happy National Flash Drive Day to you !

World Rat Day 2024
rex rat
I have limited experience with rats. These rodents come in a variety of pet animals as well as the much more intrusive and repulsive New York rat which causes public health issues as well as property damage, fright among some who encounter them, and are generally disgusting to behold in the wild.

Anyone encountering the rats of New York would think twice before having a pet rat.

I migrated from an adorable rex rat to gerbils due to my job with the local school district. I would point out that based on my experience the rat is intelligent and cunning as well as an endearing animal which will go out of it's way to please you. Contrast this with the gerbil which will simply exist and look at you and eat the food you provide ... but that's it. The rat just can't shake it's history as vermin.

Nowadays I decline to adopt rodents of any kind. Something about 80 ten gallon aquariums containinng pairs of gerbils stomping their feet will do that to you. It was really a very spectacular show the many times I witnessed it.

Today is World Rat Day.

It is supposedly to dispel any trepidations you may harbor regarding these animals — but I'm afraid it simply can never go far enough for me personally. Too much time on the piers and in Chicago and New York City I'm afraid.

Since the era of bubonic plague the rat has been shunned by the vast majority of the public for what I consider to be good reason.

I don't like rat excrement in my environment. I don't like chewed damage of stuff laying around. I don't like ruined packages of food. I maintain ultrasonic and other deterrents to thwart their presence. I'm not above setting a well baited death dealing mechanical trap either.

So yeah, it's a bad rap but I'm afraid the rat is stuck with it.

American Circus Day 2024
the circus has seen better days
I don't recall ever attending the circus in person. I did participate in some of the ancillary events surrounding it periodically.

I know it used to come to our state capital frequently in the past, but those days are over. It seems that the city administration in charge didn't like the elephant walk from the train station to the elephant room of Carolina Coliseum and the train station itself fell victim to a railroad relocation project.

So now we don't have the circus where I live. I recall that the circus which used to come so frequently in the past is no more, having closed in 2017. I traveled to their winter home in Venice Florida about 30 years ago with my friend the late Dewitt Casey. It was a poignant interlude and I enjoyed my time there.

Today is American Circus Day. It is celebrated each year on April third.

It marks the anniversary of the first circus performance in the US which happend on April 3rd 231 years ago, and was organized by one John Bill Ricketts a brit horseman.

So in my home town what once was growing by leaps and bounds yearly is no more. There are reports of the circus returning ... not locally but elsewhere.

The Circus has seen better days.

National Reconciliation Day 2024
reconciliation
Break up to make up. Getting all kissy faced in the moment of being back together.

Yeah, I've known those moments and yet I remain pretty much in the quietude of my solitude these days.

I attribute it all to my picky nature and the fact that I'm not going to prowl around anymore ... for a long time now.

Today is National Reconciliation Day and is held each second of April in an effort to mend fences and repair damaged relationships which have gone by the wayside due to words, actions, or other transgression.

I have several broken relationships which could use an overhaul. I'm afraid I don't see it happening because I no longer pursue them. Be they my best old ex-friends Darrell or Charlie — or even a few of the several once close paramours I still reach for in the night I'm satisfied with both myself and where I am.

Forgiving and requesting forgiveness are admirable pursuits and this is the message posed by National Reconciliation Day.

I have also attempted to reconcile with God. I won't know the final status of this until I go before the white throne to either be admitted to the eternity or cast into the lake of fire.

All other potential reconciliations must simply wait.

I don't seek anyone's approval — and I'm sure not sitting around waiting for any companionship to fall out of the sky and hit me on the head.

Happy National Reconciliation Day if it's in your future.

Life is fleeting. Go there. Ask and be forgiven.

April Fools Day 2024
    Its April Fools
It's April Fools Day. Yesterday I attended by nephew's birthday party on Easter Sunday.

It was remarked regarding just how close he came to being an 'April Fools baby'.

So we ate pizza, watched the kids collect eggs, and passed the birthday boy a few cards containing cash. He made quite a haul.

Today is another day. April Fools Day. I used to love the day and it's pranks and hoaxes and such.

Nowadays, this is not a day upon which I normally choose to be assertive.

I think I'll just lay low and ponder my life — you know, collect my thoughts and conduct a personal inventory.

While I once was quick to drum up some nonsense I have since learned it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open my mouth and remove all doubt.

Excellent advice from Mr C Theodore Sands in my seventh grade Geography class at Horace O'Bryant High School in Key west Florida c 1967-1968.

Happy April Fools Day to you and try not to get fooled too badly!
