Melissa Rauch is 46 Years Young and Beautiful
Melissa-Rauch
When I was watching The Big Bang Theory I was taken with Bernadette the microbiologist paramour of the engineer character Howard Wolowitz and her various forays into the chastisement of her husband was hilarity incarnate.

Melissa Ivy Rauch was born in Marlboro, New Jersey.

She went to Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, where she received a BFA degree.

While going to school, Melissa performed stand-up comedy around Manhattan, and soon made a name for herself on the NYC comedy scene.

She did a one-woman show called The Miss Education of Jenna Bush in which she portrayed Jenna Bush Hager the former President's daughter, garnered critical acclaim and played to sold-out audiences.

Melissa resides in Los Angeles, California, with Winston Rauch, her husband and writing partner.
She is short of stature with curves and buxom features and a high pitched voice.

I have enjoyed her comedy over the years and wish her well with everything else she endeavors in life.

World Rainforest Day 2026
    Rainforest
World Rainforest Day is an initiative designed to raise awareness and inspire action to protect the world's rainforests.

Rainforests are incredibly dense vegetation forming lush ecosystems characterized by continuous canopies, high humidity, and massive amounts of rainfall—typically 80 to over 400 inches annually.

Spanning every continent except Antarctica, they cover less than 3% of the planet's surface but harbor over half of the world's plant and animal species.

Rainforests are broadly divided into two main categories:

Tropical Rainforests which are located closer to the equator. They are warm and frost-free year-round with temperatures averaging 68°F to 77°F. The Amazon Basin in South America is the largest tropical rainforest, spanning 6.7 million square kilometers.

Temperate Rainforests are found in cooler, mountainous, or coastal regions at higher latitudes such as the Pacific Northwest of North America or areas in New Zealand.

The Four Layers of Life typify rainforests and feature a highly structured vertical environment, with each level supporting completely distinct life forms

The Emergent Layer consists of the tallest trees that break through the canopy, reaching heights of up to 200 feet. Inhabitants include eagles, bats, and monkeys.

The canopy is a thick, overlapping roof of leaves and branches about 100 feet up. It acts as the "heart" of the rainforest and is home to the majority of its animals, including toucans, sloths, and tree frogs.

The understory is a dark, humid environment just beneath the canopy dominated by large-leaved shrubs and woody vines. It houses jaguars, leopards, and countless insects

The forest floor is almost completely deprived of sunlight with some 2% filters through.

This damp ground is covered in quickly decomposing organic matter, teeming with fungi, insects, and burrowing animals.

The global importance and threats affecting the Rainforests act as the Earth's natural regulators, stabilizing the global climate by absorbing vast amounts of carbon dioxide and producing about 20% of the world's oxygen. They also provide vital ingredients for modern medicine and regulate global weather patterns.

Despite their critical importance, rainforests face severe ongoing threats from industrial logging, cattle ranching, and agricultural clearing.

Organizations like the Rainforest Alliance work globally to protect these ecosystems, promote sustainable farming, and support forest-dwelling communities.

World Giraffe Day 2026
giraffe

Today is World Giraffe Day.

It is observed each June 21st.

This international event was began under the auspices of the Giraffe Conservation Foundation to highlight the challenges these animals face in the wild and to support conservation efforts.

The event strategically falls on the summer solstice which is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

This is pays homage to the giraffe being the tallest animal in the world.

It is appropriate to visit a Local Zoo.

Zoos often host special giraffe-themed enrichment activities, educational booths, and feeding opportunities to mark the day ...

If you can prevent the zoos from taking a rifle and killing then dissecting the animal such as was done by the Copenhagen Zoo in Denmark. They fed the sacrificial giraffe to their lions.

It is also a relevant idea to support wild giraffe populations by donating directly to conservation campaigns hosted by the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.

Happy World Giraffe Day.

Today is National American Eagle Day.

It is celebrated annually on June 20.

This holiday honors the bald eagle as the national symbol of the United States and highlights its incredible recovery from the brink of extinction.

The observance serves several purposes.

It marks the day in 1782 when the bald eagle was officially chosen for the Great Seal of the United States.

It raises awareness about protecting eagles, preserving their natural habitats, and mitigating ongoing threats.

It features various wildlife outreach programs and live eagle cams to promote understanding of the species.

International Picnic Day 2026
picnic
I haven't been on a picnic for as long as I can remember. There were times when I would go and attend these fetes of food and merriment and engage the day and people all day long.

Today is International Picnic Day.

We observe it each year on June 18th.

It is an international observance encouraging people to step outdoors, enjoy the warm weather, and share a meal in the beauty of nature.

The word picnic originates in the 17th-century French term piquenique. This is also combined with piquer (which means to pick or peck) and nique (a small thing).

Originally, it referred to social gatherings where each person brought a dish to share. These still occur in those groups within which I circulate periodically.

The feast dates back to Ancient Greece and Medieval hunting parties.

The modern thing we know as a "picnic" became in vogue sometime after the French Revolution, when royal parks were finally opened to the public.

The people of the Victorian era are deemed most responsible.

So gather portable snacks, fruits, and drinks and head to a local park or your own backyard.

Happy International Picnic Day

International Waterfall Day 2026
    Andrew Ramey Falls
Today is International Waterfall Day.

It is an annual observation of waterfalls held each June 16 since 2020 under the auspices of one Bob Matthews from Rochester, New York, and his wife.

The day is meant to encourage citizens to visit, consider, learn about, and appreciate waterfalls internationally.

The event is without infrastructure or supporting organizational component. Anyone who is interested is welcome to join the observance.

So if your interests carry you I hope you'll venture out and visit a waterfall or two in the near future.

We even have a very small one here in the Midlands of South Carolina at Peachtree Rock which is currently entrusted to the SC Nature Conservancy which was an utter mistake as far as I am concerned.

They are extremely poor stewards of nature and the public trust.

Smile Power Day 2026
Blonde Smile
It is Smile Power Day.

The day is observed each June 15 and highlights the incredible, contagious impact of a simple, genuine grin.

This day encourages people to use the power of smiling to relieve stress, build confidence, boost morale, and brighten someone else's day.

Make an intentional effort to smile at everyone you pass — from your morning coffee barista to your coworkers.

Celebrate the power of your own smile by scheduling a check-up at a local dentist.

Write down a few things you are grateful for, read them, and let a natural smile follow.

The act of smiling is directly linked to the brain and can lower stress levels and noticeably elevate your mood, even if you have to fake it at first.

Smiling increases likability and interpersonal cooperation, acting as an instant trust-builder among humans.

Flag Day 2026
    USA Flag
I have always been one to watch how the National Ensign is comported during times of remembrance and ceremony. I have been known to open my mouth unto establishment at the drop of a hat when I feel there has been breach of protocol. I was once told I was too concerned with these matters and so I dropped them.

Today is Flag Day.

On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress passed the first Flag Resolution, stating that the flag of the United States would have 13 alternating red and white stripes and 13 white stars on a blue field.

President Woodrow Wilson first established June 14 as Flag Day in 1916, and it was signed into law as a national observance by President Harry Truman in 1949.

The day is a time to reflect on American history, the journey of the country, and the symbology of the flag's colors (red relating to valor and zeal, white representing purity and innocence, and blue standing for vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

Yeah, sometimes I get too grabby, especially in matters of patriotism.

God Bless America.

Kat Dennings Birthday 2026
Kat Dennings
Yeah, some of my favorite eye candy is having a birthday. Though I must admit to liking her better when she was single.

Katherine Victoria Litwack aka the charming and beautiful Kat Dennings is one of our American Actress tidbits known for roles as Max Black in 2 Broke Girls from 2011 to 2017 as well as Darcy Lewis in several of the the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films and television franchises beginning with Thor.

Yes to gaze upon her is to love her and she is the big 4-0h! today.

Ah, the memories ...

She made her debut in 2000 and since then Ms Dennings has appeared in films such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin in 2005, Big Momma's House 2 in 2006, Charlie Bartlett in 2007, The House Bunny and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist in 2008, Shorts in 2009, Defendor in 2009, and Suburban Gothic in 2014.

While some of my friends can "take her or leave her" I still enjoy watching episodes of 2 Broke Girls to this day.

Happy Birthday to you !

World Day Against Child Labor 2026
    Child Labor
When I was a kid I would be coerced by the white trash neighbor down the street to come help with harvests of various types.

The notion of fair pay wasn't even in the picture.

He went out of his way to gyp me at every turn.

His daughter (who was my aunt by marriage was even worse).

So today is World Day Against Child Labor.

It is an international observance established to raise awareness and take action against the exploitation of child labor worldwide.

Nobody ever cared about those abuses I incurred because my mother thought the neighbor had a real "j-o-b" and really pushed me to go get ripped off by this idiot getover farmer.

He didn't.

And fuck the UN, too.

National German Chocolate Cake Day 2026
German Chocolate Cake
Since earliest childhood my most requested birthday cake is of the German Chocolate variety. As long as I can remember it has been my favorite cake and I really didn't mind forgoing the candles and such because it was such a taste treat in and of itself.

German chocolate cake is an American invention of layered chocolate cake that features a lighter, milder chocolate flavor and is traditionally filled and topped with a rich caramel, coconut, and pecan custard.

The cake is named after an English-American chocolate maker named Samuel German. In 1852, he created a sweet, mild dark baking bar called "Baker's German's Sweet Chocolate" for the Walter Baker & Company. The modern dessert was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1957, when a homemaker named Mrs. George Clay submitted a recipe to The Dallas Morning News titled "German's Chocolate Cake," which utilized Samuel German's baking chocolate. Over time, the possessive "s" in "German's" was dropped, leading generations to mistakenly believe the cake originated in Germany.

Unlike rich, dark devil's food or traditional cocoa cakes, the sponge is typically lighter and flavored with sweet baking chocolate. What truly defines German chocolate cake is its signature icing — a cooked custard of egg yolks, evaporated milk, and butter mixed with toasted pecans and shredded coconut. This gooey frosting is placed between the layers and generously piled on top, while the sides are often left unfrosted.

I do love it so !
