I remember vaguely Chairman Mao Zedong and his cult of personality in China. I recall my disdain for Communism in general and I felt that as chairman of the Chinese Communist Party he was an evil entity on the face of the earth and shed no tears over his death on September 9, 1976.
The wife of the chairman was a leader in her own right. She had cohorts, three of whom along with her were known as "The Gang of Four" and they were were later charged with a series of treasonous crimes after the heyday of the Cultural Revolution which saw them rise to prominence.
However, my young rural orientation was likely a factor in my attitudes and as such my evolution as a more internationally oriented character after the Navy has softened my attitudes toward political affiliations in general as long as you're in your own element and don't drag your stupid "take from the worker and give to the shirker" socialist agenda into the United States.
They were Jiang Qing, who was the last wife of Mao Zedong, Zhang Chunqiao, Yao Wenyuan, and Wang Hongwen. They fell from power October 6, 1976 which was a month after Mao's death.
The Gang of Four were tried in 1981 by the Supreme People's Court of China, Jiang Hua presiding, and convicted of anti-party activities.
• Jiang Qing in particular was extremely defiant and protested on her own behalf. Her defense argument was that she obeyed the orders of Chairman Mao Zedong at all times. • Zhang Chunqiao refused to admit any wrong doing. • Yao Wenyuan and Wang Hongwen expressed repentance and confessed their alleged crimes.
The prosecution separated political errors from actual crimes.
Among the alleged actual crimes were the usurpation of state power and party leadership and the persecution of some 750,000 people, 34,375 of whom died during the period 1966–1976. Supporters of the Gang of Four also received sentences from the courts.
Jiang Qing and Zhang Chunqiao received death sentences that were later commuted to life imprisonment, while Wang Hongwen was given life and Yao Wenyuan twenty years in prison.
All members of the Gang of Four have since died.
• Jiang Qing committed suicide by hanging in 1991 • Wang Hongwen died in 1992 • Yao Wenyuan released from prison in 1996 and died in 2005 • Zhang Chunqiao released from prison in 1998 and died in 2005
All in all the appearance is that of retribution taken against a fallen regime where little was available for defense of a group of leaders no longer in control. It is one thing to commit objective crimes. It is another to actually fall to the whims of a rising leadership.

I used to contribute to Wikipedia on a regular basis.
It wasn't until they were criticized by my boss at work one day and I researched them and their content a bit more that I ceased contributions because of their distinct lack of technical merit and accuracy as well as frank bias to a sufficient degree.
Since January 15, 2001 they have been calling themselves "a free content, multilingual online encyclopedia written and maintained by a community of volunteers through a model of open collaboration, using a wiki-based editing system. Individual contributors, also called editors, are known as Wikipedians."
What they don't tell you is the mentally deficient libtard editorial staff slants most everything such that objectivity does not exist and the stupidity of those messing up the articles is rampant without intervening editorial control — or even an attempt to get dates consistently correct.
It's written in PHP so that alone is enough for me to abandon them as the irrelevalent steaming hot libtard mess that they are.
What they are in effect is just another nazi libtard abomination in the vein of Youtube, Facebook, and Amazon and as such should be stricken from the record as a zero value "would be asset" if they had any worth in the world at all.
They have problems with facts, dates, and just about every aspect of what an "encyclopedia" is supposed to provide rendering their reference value totally nil to me personally.
Seeing how I no longer utilize them for anything anymore I figured it a reasonable idea to stop contributing to their whiny campaigns which predominate their interface.
Thanks Mark for helping me see the light on their totally unsuitable inaccurate and extremely biased presence.

- Sputnik 1 Orbits the Earth

I didn't comprehend much of the 'space race' back when I was a youngster. In grade school I saw pictures of the Soviet Sputnik satellites and vaguely recall the understanding of them in orbit but I wasn't really much into the Gemini stuff either.
The allure for me didn't come til much later because my early life was predominated by monster movies, Astroboy, superheros, cartoon characters, The Three Stooges, and other such aspects of a lingering childhood fantasy life. The kid stuff controlled my existence for a very long time.
On this day in 1957 Sputnik 1 became the first artificial Earth satellite. It was launched from the Kazakh SSR into a low elliptical Earth orbit by the USSR on October 4, 1957 as part of the Soviet space program.
It consisted of a polished metal sphere 23 inches in diameter with four external radio antennas over which radio pulses were broadcast.
Its radio signal was easily detectable by amateur radio operators. The 65° orbital inclination and duration of its orbit placed it's flight path over virtually the entirety of the Earth's population.
Those signals from Sputnik 1 continued for 21 days which corresponded to the life of the transmitter batteries which became depleted on October 26, 1957.
It orbited for three weeks before its batteries died and then orbited silently for two months before it fell back into and burned in the atmosphere on January 4, 1958 after completing 1,440 orbits of the Earth. Thus began the 'space race' between the United States and the Soviet Union as part of the so-called 'cold war'. The launch of Sputnik 1 was marked the start of a new era from a standpoint of international technological, scientific, political, and military developments.
The word "sputnik" is Russian for satellite in the context of astronomy but may also refer to a spouse or traveling companion depending on what is being discussed.

- Mean Girls Day 2021

Yeah, you know I'm all about chick flicks. Today is Mean Girls Day a day inspired by the 2004 movie Mean Girls and the observance is about as A List, antisocial, and clique as it gets.
Revenge and other girl stuff notwithstanding, it's all about fun and nonsense and I'm pretty much all for that regardless of the inherent sarcasm of my "oneness" with the genre ...
Which, of course is utterly nonexistent except for the solid indoctrination I had in cliques, shallow cruelty, and wholesale meanness we on the outside of popularity looking in were made to continually suffer. It reminded me of 1970 and the abominable MENRIV Navy brat infested hellhole Goose gd Creek High School all over again.
The characters Aaron Samuels and Cady Heron from the movie appear to be the instigators of this social media tomfoolery. In the movie, when Aaron (Jonathan Bennett) turns to Cady (Lindsay Lohan) and asks her what day it is. She answers
"It's October 3".
Naturally, the earth shattering sigificance of all this along with The Plastics and every thing else about cliques and ersatz social conventions in a generation which didn't even exist when I was at that age is pretty much lost on me.
Suffice it to say that if you're an adherent to this mess more power to you and if you CELEBRATE it all so much the better. Let your patent leather personality be your guide. All the more with which to toy my pretty.
I'm sitting here in my pink sweatpants and vest polishing my fertility vase of the Ndebele tribe with a big bowl of grool and cheese fries having a Brazilian blowout as we speak. I'm not in love with journalists nor journalism given the extremely biased and dishonest nature of the profession and in particular — as a function of those who practice it.
However, I am not in love with murder, either and I am compelled to state the case for those victims who are no longer here to state theirs for themselves.
Such is the disposition of Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi an American journalist who was murdered allegedly on orders from the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
Mr Khashoggi was born on October 13, 1958 in Medina, Saudi Arabia. He was murdered on October 2, 2018 at the Saudi embassy in Istanbul, Turkey by agents of the Saudi government on orders from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman who has escaped justice due to his position in the Saudi royal family. So much for sanctuary, eh?
It is stated in multiple sources that the murderers dismembered his body and that he knew he was about to die in the moments prior to his being killed.
He had been living in exile under persecution from the Saudi government who were obviously out to get him as he continued to write articles critical of the Saudi governement.
He incurred the wrath of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and suffered the ultimate consequence for his actions while those responsible for his murder were not made to suffer any manner of consequences whatsoever.
The Saudi government has rejected the findings of the US intelligence report defining culpability in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. Given the rather lax nature of justice and jurisprudence in the United States with the dismal democrat influence on those matters; and their multitude of contrived false allegations as well as the fallacies of marxist influence, socialism, and 'woke culture' in general it's easy to dismiss any US accusations leveled anywhere anymore.
Add to this the abandonment by the executive branch of allies who formerly trusted us entirely and I will be surprised if any jurisdiction will dare engage the United States in any joint venture in the future. Stupid untrustworthy lying ass Joe Biden.
Besides, it is easy to escape the law when you are one of the rulers. Just ask the democrats.
The US State Department advises against travel to Saudi Arabia. Ostensibly this is due to the sameole COVID-19 control mechanism they love to invoke. They also point out the threat of missile and drone attacks on civilian facilities — and of course, terrorism.
The fact that you may be murdered and dismembered in a consulate by Saudi operatives as an American citizen is neither here nor there. Just have yourself a seance and ask the spirit of American journalist Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi.

- US Fiscal Year begins

A fiscal year aka financial year aka budget year is a governmental accounting entity which varies widely accross jurisdictions for budgetary purposes.
It is also used for financial reporting in business and organizations.
It is not meant to align with the calendar year and provides a mechanism outside the time constraints of the year to provide financial reporting as many jurisdictions require.
The United States is a total fiscal mess due to the incompetents voted into office by groups with ulterior motives.
These incompetents are collectively known as the US Democrat Party and have offshoots called "progressives" even though this is the LAST thing they are in reality and liberals who are known for their bleeding heart and foolhardy stances on everything ...
Likewise, we have the utterly stupid state of California with it's miscreant governor Gavin Newsom and the pathological liar representative Adam Schiff and their illogical, unscrupulous, and immoral ilk seemingly running aspects of government far beyond both their borders and abilities — which are essentially non existent — as they drive their constituents and others whom they may influence against their will into the ground via membership on various Washington DC committees.
They still believe they set the pace for the rest of the country and that we will follow their lead — even though theirs is a shambles of mismanagement and mass exodus.
So the US fiscal year begins and with it another period of time for Biden-Harris domestic failures on the same epic scale as their failed foreign policy and failure of border protection within the nation such that we've been witnessing all along.
In retrospect, allowing the democrats to steal the election while FAR from the "bullshit" you claimed wasn't such a good idea for The Republic Mr AG Barr.

It's September 30, the 273rd day of the year since it's not a leap year in which case it would be the 274th day per the Gregorian calendar.
A big 92 days remain til the new year.
September 30 marks the last day of the third quarter.
Most importantly to me personally, the advent of October brings with it Halloween and the beginnings of the holiday season, those days I love most.
Cooler weather, festive events, and a generally enjoyable time for me personally.

- World Heart Day 2021

As we age many of us develop cardiac disease.
For example, a few years back I was told that I had a heart murmur for the first time.
These sounds are made by turbulence in the blood pool near your heart and are detected with a stethoscope.
Anyway, an EKG was immediately ran then sent to the cardiologist who said that it was a "common" variety murmur and that nothing could be done for it.
Today we have another World Heart Day held under the auspices of the World Heart Federation — which is a nongovernmental organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, formed in 1972.
World Heart Day is celebrated annually on September 29th since 2000 in an effort to bring to the attention of the world those aspects of cardiovascular disease as the number one killer.
Heart disease and stroke both being the world’s leading causes of death enact a toll of some 18.6 million lives per annum.
So anyway, I hope your ticker gets along grandly.
Too many in my family have had heart disease; primarily from lifestyle choices.
It's impossible for me to think that I don't have it at some level.
All we can do is acknowledge the risk factors, attempt to deal with them as we can, and live our lives hopefully and as happily as possible.

- The Actual date of the Nativity

Research indicates that September 29 was the actual birth date of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Yeshua Messiah, savior of the Christian world. His conception occured on December 25.
All of this is derived from the dates extrapolated from the original translations of scripture with derivations based on specific events contained therein. Historical correlations have also been used to compare the time of year to the event. The December 25th celebration in actuality is a function of the pagan Saturnalia which has become interspersed and fused with all Christian celebrations which in and of itself is a bit of a travesty.
The antiamerican brigand Barack Obama had the audacity to utter words to the effect that the United States is no longer a Christian nation from his nasty homosexual tranny husband mouth. Big Mike had no business becoming the 'first ladyboy' thanks to the democrats and their miscreant libtard so-called "progressive" ilk.
When the traitor Obama stands before the White Throne I wonder if he will recant those words. One nation under God remains our motto foreign Kenyan girlyman. You and Schwarzenegger's woke ass can both return to your countries of origin as far as I am concerned. Kenya is NOT the United States. Neither is Austria.

- I think Albino Luciani Juan Pablo I was murdered

I remember when the popes died. When Pope Paul died I was in Rome on liberty from my ship at Fleet Landing in Naples. When Pope Paul died I was in Rome on liberty from my ship moored at the port in Civitavecchia.
On the first excursion I had accompanied Jerry Landry and Steven Tinge on an excursion on the train which traveled between the two cities all day making for an easy departure and return trip. The second excursion found me at large with Jerry as was often the case.
The newspapers declared the passing of Pope Paul. The same headline was in every newspaper rack we encountered. My next visit about a month later had pretty much the same headlines but were declaring that Pope John Paul I had died.
I was confused for a brief period regarding the same news on both visits but the situation became clear very quickly. I was in Rome the day Pope Paul died. I was also in Rome the day Pope John Paul I died. This is quite the coincidence in my mind.
While it is stated that John Paul I passed from a heart attack, subsequent information which has passed my desk has caused me to believe that he fell victim to murder at the hands of a cardinal who was about to be prosecuted for fiscal crimes against the Vatican bank.
Conspiracy theory is entirely too simplistic a claim to have prevented a full international pursuit of the facts surrounding the alleged murder. I don't feel that there was sufficient investigation of these alleged crimes nor do I think the Pope was adequately protected in his chambers nor were the laws against murder adequately pursued.
I have since pretty much lost all faith in the papacy and the Catholic church in general with the passing of Pope John Paul II and feel the idiot Pope Francis is the presently biggest joke and failure from the aspects of both biblical knowledge and misguided apologetics on the religious planet.
The entire notion of Francis and Benedict as the 'two popes' itself was a laughable miscarriage of the office of what is supposedly the office called THE Vicar of Christ. Traditions of men is how I interpret the Catholic religion in these latter days.
I don't suffer fools for a long time now. I think the presently sitting pope is an utterly unqualified fool ignorant of scripture and presenting a misguided example to the faithful upon the Earth.
The joke that is Catholicism at the hands of the present Holy See is unGodly. Some central governing body of the Catholic Church in the hands of a levitical idiot.Upon the death of Pople Paul VI, Albino Luciani was elected Pope John Paul I, Bishop of Rome. His papacy began August 26, 1978 and ended 33 days later upon his death September 28, 1978 and Pope John Paul II was elected to succeed him.
While his papal reign was brief, he was said to be a warm and caring human being and those characteristics speak well for anyone asuuming a leadership position in the Body of Christ.
In the end I would hope that he receives that justice I feel the world denied him here on Earth before the White Throne of God Almighty.

- World Rabies Day 2021

As far as I know I've never encountered a rabid animal.
There was a time or two others referred to me as a rabid animal.
I suppose it's a function of that extreme reaction I sometimes provide to various provocations.
Anyway, it's served me well over the years.
Rabies refers to that contagion caused by the fatal Lyssavirus which may infect mammals resulting in madness and convulsions.
The vector of transmission typically is via the saliva to humans.
Today is World Rabies Day.
It is an international awareness project of the Global Alliance for Rabies Control, a US non-profit.
World Rabies Day is meant to increase awareness regarding the impact of rabies on both humans and animals as well as provide information and advice on disease prevention in those who are in risky environments.
It also provides support increased towards the goal of rabies control.
World Rabies Day happens annually on September 28 which corresponds to the the anniversary of the passing of Louis Pasteur who led the team that developed the first efficacious rabies vaccine.

When I was in the Navy the work of the performer Meatloaf became an item in my music collection. He was already an item in the music collections of my peers since about the late 1960s.
It was his album 'Bat out of Hell' that caught my attention. Specifically the track entitle 'Hot Summer Night'. I was a fan from then on.
I even call my young great nephew Nathan "Meatloaf" in his honor. I do believe the moniker is lost upon the boy however.
Michael Lee Aday was born Marvin Lee Aday on September 27, 1947. He was better known as Meat Loaf due to his physical stature I would guess. He is an American singer and actor noted for his powerful, broad acoustic range and those theatrics incorporated into his live shows.
He sold many records as part of his Bat Out of Hell franchise:

Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell, and
Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose
were quite the money making trilogy in the music world during my younger days.
He was typically fluffed and buffed during performances with formal shirts, ruffles, French cuffs, hair and makeup. Then he would go on stage and knock them dead. Some of his riffs are the stuff of legend like the powerful ending to "All Revved Up with No Place to Go" Afterward there were the oxygen mask and panting with sweat rivulets running down his face — but he could entertain like nobody's business. I would always take a moment to indulge his performances when they intersected my attention at various places and times in my life. His was a magnificent presence on stage and a powerhouse sound uncommon in my lifetime.
Anyway today is Meatloaf's birthday. Happy birthday to you !

- National Good Neighbor Day 2021

When I think of good neighbors my thoughts naturally float up to Fred Rogers the late PBS star of children's television who single handedly took the children of the United States to heart as his own with manners, consideration, friendship, and sound information on life.
I don't consider myself such a good neighbor by his lofty standards for sure. I for one keep to myself and though I'm always happy to render any assistance required and in my ability. I don't seek company very often and actually typically avoid people in that shy nature cultivated from my childhood.
Today is National Good Neighbor Day. It is a national holiday in the United States celebrated each September 26th.
In the early 1970s, one Becky Mattson of Lakeside, Montana created National Good Neighbor Day as a day to connect with and recognize the importance of strong leaders.
On September 22, 1978, President only to be surpassed by Joe gd Biden Jimmy Carter signed Proclamation 4601 establishing September 24, 1978 as National Good Neighbor Day, stating that it should be observed "with appropriate ceremonies and activities."
On April 28, 2004, the Senate passed a resolution by Montana Senator Max Baucus to designate September 26 as National Good Neighbor Day.

- Pondering a Gig Economy

I'm drawing social security. Each month I get enough to pay all my bills and have about a thousand bucks remaining.
I attribute this to 'making bank' as my friend Sam puts it as a function of my work in the innumerable state technical system teaching contracts spanning some 20 plus years.
I did put away a pile of FICA contributions during this time and now I am reaping those benefits in my ever advancing age.
All of this present day leisure not withstanding, I am bored to the nth degree.
I want nothing more than to immerse myself in a set of difficult problems in an effort to occupy time and make that little bit of fundage social security will permit ...
$18,960 is all I can do annually and not be penalized. This is considerably less than I'm accustomed to making and I'm presently just considering the possibilities as I sit before the tevee ...
As has been the case since I departed the miserable incorporated municipality from whose dismally inept technical leadership I was compelled to escape. A person can only take so much stupid in his life when things cease to become worthwhile endeavors.
Toward that end I am pondering the "gig economy" being touted in some circles as the wave of the future and that direction the world is presently going.
In a gig economy, temporary and flexible jobs are commonplace with companies leaning toward the hire of independent contractors and freelancers instead of the traditional full time employee.
A gig economy undermines the traditional economy of full-time workers who often focus on career development — but at the stage of my game it is a viable alternative given the fact that I can't make much in the way of earnings anyway.
Luckily, I am not in any dire straights in the fiscal arena having everything already covered nicely if all I do is continue to sit and watch teevee like I've been doing so expertly since the stupid bitches ran me off from work with their poor decisions, ebonics in lieu of technological terminology, and total lack of expertise ...
Or even a rudimentary technical grasp of what was being discussed.
But like I said with all this copious off time I now enjoy I remain bored beyond belief ...
