America is NOT Back
stupid joe biden
I remember my nausea when the idiot Joe Biden declared to the outstretched hands of those leeches in the Paris Agreement that "America is Back".

You cannot believe anything this pathological liar says.

China’s state-run newspaper the Global Times declared the Biden administration has “failed in the first year in office” in the battle against the Wuhan coronavirus, especially the recent omicron variant outbreak on Wednesday December 22.

If you only knew. The Biden administration has failed in every aspect of executive administration of the United States of America since his sorry ass was placed into office by the corrupt democratic party via election poll manipulations which were ignored by the jurisdictions involved and proven in various forensic recounts.

Stupid democrats, your masters the Chinese are not happy with you and your voter base isn't either.

Tell me, what chance does this indicate in elections from now on with the voter integrity movement now present in elections. Not only are you evil and law breakers you're stupid as well.

The main stream media will not fare any better in the rapidly approaching adjustments back to reality. I just hope an inquisition and executions are in order for the libtard masses who betrayed The Republic.

• After promising to be a bipartisan chief executive he has been anything but ...
• He has consistently moved toward destroying our energy Independence
• He is China's yes man and kowtows continually to the country that gave us wuhan coronavirus
• He claims credit for Trump's corona virus push which saved lives
• He has destroyed our Southern border and betrayed the safety of all americans by not doing his job
• He is bankrupting America with entitlements and misguided spending plans which do nothing other than create debt for subsequent generations in the form of tax burden
• He surrendered in Afghanistan
• His adminstration is an ego trip with inferior appointments and stupid woke military strategy

Claxton Fruitcake reminds me of Grandma
claxton fruit cake 1 lb regular

I was in the local grocery store and picked up a pound Claxton Fruitcake from the display.

Upon returning home later I had a piece and was transported back to the days of grandma Sallie and all those flavors she had around her house.

This particular fruit cake comes in two varieties, "regular" and "dark" and in two sizes, 12 oz and 16 oz — but I cannot distinguish between the two from a standpoint of flavor.

I suppose I'm simply too immersed in the sentimentality which overcomes me when I have a taste and my thoughts are transported back to my childhood and thoughts of grandma who passed so long ago.

I miss you grandma.

Christmas Day 2021
Christmas Day 2021

Christmas Bells

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
    And wild and sweet
    The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
    Had rolled along
    The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Till ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
    A voice, a chime,
    A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
    And with the sound
    The carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearth-stones of a continent,
    And made forlorn
    The households born
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;
    "For hate is strong,
    And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
    The Wrong shall fail,
    The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men."

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Christmas Eve 2021
Christmas Eve 2021

Pax hominibus bonae voluntatis

A frosty Christmas Eve
   when the stars were shining
Fared I forth alone
   where westward falls the hill,
And from many a village
   in the water'd valley
Distant music reach'd me
   peals of bells aringing:
The constellated sounds
   ran sprinkling on earth's floor
As the dark vault above
   with stars was spangled o'er.
Then sped my thoughts to keep
   that first Christmas of all
When the shepherds watching
by their folds ere the dawn
Heard music in the fields
   and marveling could not tell
Whether it were angels
   or the bright stars singing.

Now blessed be the tow'rs
   that crown England so fair
That stand up strong in prayer
   unto God for our souls
Blessed be their founders
(said I) an' our country folk
Who are ringing for Christ
   in the belfries to-night
With arms lifted to clutch
   the rattling ropes that race
Into the dark above
   and the mad romping din.

But to me heard afar
   it was starry music
Angels' song, comforting
   as the comfort of Christ
When he spake tenderly
   to his sorrowful flock:
The old words came to me
   by the riches of time
Mellow'd and transfigured
as I stood on the hill
Heark'ning in the aspect
   of th' eternal silence.

Festivus 2021
festivus pole
    Frank Costanza during Festivus

Festivus is a fictional yuletide parody celebration held each December 23rd as portrayed in the syndicated sitcom Seinfeld.

Frank Costanza used to hold the festival annually, God rest his soul.

Now, to celebrate Festivus it is actually quite simple to remember and even simpler to do.

Festivus is celebrated as a holiday by those seeking to find an alternative to the commercialism and pressures that the Christmas holiday shopping can cause.

The celebration of Festivus has a few events which involve:

• An aluminum pole in place of a Christmas tree
• Put a clock in a bag and nail it to the wall
• The Airing of Grievances
• The Festivus dinner consists of either turkey or meatloaf on a bed of lettuce
• Feats of Strength
• The Festivus holiday is not over until the head of the household is pinned by their opponent.

Happy Birthday Ted Cruz
Ted Cruz
In an era of United States government gone crazy with libtard abandon of all things conservative and nationalist ... and even sensical — we have Ted Cruz making the case for America first, secure borders, the rule of law, and the protection of all those aspects of civil society abandoned by the democrats, progressives, and their pitiful ilk.

He is a breath of fresh rational air in that swamp stagnation which should never have been permitted to transpire much less fester to the point at which it presently exists.

Rafael Edward Cruz was born December 22, 1970 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and is now a US citizen and Republican politican. He has a degree from Princeton and a Juris Doctor from Harvard and has worked as a broadcaster, attorney, and politician.

Mr Cruz serves as the junior United States senator for Texas and has held the office since 2013.

He was one of the few sitting senators with the character and grasp of reality to objecting to the certification of Joe Biden's contrived victory in the 2020 presidential election in light of that democrat election hijacking whereby they robbed President Trump.

Sorry democrats, that's what I believe regardless of what the airhead AG Barr might deny who I feel is either dumb or dirty.

He is not the only one who saw what happened and declined to support the present administration for it's continuous underhanded incompetence. What a mess the democrats have wrought upon the nation in their stupid lack of grasp and moral compass.

Today is the birthday of an American hero and patriot, Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz, who works tirelessly for the benefit of the Republic.

He makes the case for the removal of the democrat administration and their cronies from office, gets in the face of their sloppy cabinet choices, and stands against the continuing political catastrophe of their criminal mindset set upon the nation.

Happy birthday to you.

Winter Solstice 2021
Over the years I have marked the changing of the seasons many times. I dare say I've witnessed them enough to have developed favorites. I'd have to say that my most favorite of the seasons would be winter. This is likely due to the area in which I live where the winters are typically mild.

However, I remember more harsh environments to a lesser degree like that of Blackfoot, Idaho — and Great Lakes, Illinois where there were two seasons, July and winter with a wind chill factor of 70 degrees below zero.

Throughout these experiences I have remained partial to the winter time and snow and it's a facet that many don't see in me because of where we live.

Solstice refers to that time or date twice yearly at which the sun reaches its maximum or minimum declination and therfore marked by the longest and shortest days.
This year Winter solstice in Northern Hemisphere will be at 10:58 AM on Tuesday December 21.

The winter solstice, aka the hiemal solstice, brumal solstice, or hibernal solstice, happens when either of our planetary poles reach its maximum tilt away from the Sun.

Various time zone differences account for minor deviations in the actual dates and times recorded for these events.

The significance of a solstice is the changing of the seasons.

The winter solstice is the first day of winter.

Folklore records much significance in the changing of the seasons as marked by the solstice ocurrences.

The Old Farmers Almanac remains one of the oldest consulted references in this regard.

I love the winter time. Happy winter to you.

Games Day 2021
Doom Slayer
There was an era in my early career when I was a gamer. I was hooked on the early Doom (and Quake) iterations and loved the IPX network multiplayer setup and death match competitions through Doom 3 or so.

Around this time work suddenly became this very serious proposition as I immersed myself into areas that interested me far less because the money was so much better and voila ...

I was no longer a gamer due to time constraints.

I have known a lot of gamers in my life. I had a good friend when I worked at Bechtel who had a computer and all the stuff required for superior gaming experiences ...

Even a fully functional steering wheel with gear shifting and accelerator/brake pedals. I was amazed at the realism before the computer screen when he sat in the yoke of his car or airplane controls and demonstrated a few of his favorites.

Earlier there was an acquaintance and colleague when I taught at the local technical college who was a fantasy role playing game aficionado and authored several very popular iterations of the early role playing games.

He migrated to a support role with one of the school districts in the state and died quite young from a massive coronary. I always suspected his physician wife of ridding herself of his less than hygienic rather greasy presence.

Now the massive multiplayer games predominate the genre. It's just too much for me to personally track because I have too many other irons in the fire.

Suffice it to say a lot of those I know have their favorite game and play it frequently. Too many I know use their phones as gaming devices.

These days I'm far too busy writing markup and code in an attempt to remain technically relevant in my old age.

Today marks Games Day, a gaming convention held annually under the ausipices of Games Workshop who has a number of game franchises and markets all manner of battle alliance games.

Games Day has been in operation since 1975 which is an astounding length of time for a gamer institution.

I think it's good that interest has exhibited such longevity.

Not ever going to play Santa
The movie Miracle on 34th Street is one of those things in my life much older than I am.

It's a belief and fantasy flick released in June of 1947 about a divorced New York mom hiring an old guy to play Santa Claus at Macy's department store (remember good ole retail?) but then is startled by his claim to be the genuine fellow who is named Kris Kringle.

The plot thickens to the point that his sanity is questioned and a lawyer defends him in court by arguing that he's not mistaken.

I enjoyed the movie several times over the years and often considered playing Santa Claus as an adult a few times when the opportunity arose. An ersatz Kris Kringle if you please.

    Santa Hat
I just saw a piece regarding the scarcity of Santa Claus performance artists ministering to the children of the world these days.

Some venues state the numbers of "mall Santas" (if you will) will be "back to normal" while the true professionals who work in the field do not share this level of optimism.

Yesterday I donned my majestic Santa hat, went for a ride and handed out Christmas cards to some of my most favored vendors as well as a few neighbors — as I usually do this time of season ...

You know, Ricky's Tire and Auto, Chong's Alterations, Speedmart up the street, What A Burger, and a couple of homeless people I encountered panhandling intersections along the way.

At the actual vendor locations we had a few laughs and everyone marvelled at the really nice hat I was wearing.

I get one each year to celebrate the season.

That's about it for me and the Santa Claus part of Christmas.

I have been requested to play Santa before — but I respectfully declined because I'm inimidated at the thought of impersonating the jolly old elf.

It's a just not one of those things I envision myself as doing. Some of us are meant to play Santa. I apparently am not.

Finally bought the Squirrelinator
Squirrelinator With Basin
My substantial tree hugging pro woodland creature friends will shudder to find out that I have finally purchased the Squirrelinator With Basin. I've only been considering it and pondering the numbers of squirrels residing on my property since July or so ...

Said to be the ultimate in squirrel traps, I have an abundance of rodents and I'm afraid that I just don't view them as warm and cuddly. I see them as nusiances ready to damage my house and out buildings without any semblence of regret in the true wild animal fashion which is their nature.

So now I will await delivery and set it out to see if I catch as many squirrels as my friends have stated they trapped. The harvest of animals with this trap has been characterized as nothing short of stupendous.

I'd just as soon not be bothered but how much worrisome vermin activity can a person be made to sweat without acting?

I'm not without mercy but the squirrels keep coming and their numbers are presently unmanagable.

Yes, this model provides for drowning the animals. I have suffered a lot of heat regarding this by a close friend who stated how utterly terrible an end drowning is for the animal — and his words make me feel heartless BUT ...

We must do what we must do.

Bradley Manning still thinks he's a girl
Bradley Manning thinks hes a girl

It's Bradley Edward Manning's birthday.

He is the person who put on the military uniform of the USA then betrayed his country while on active duty.

Then he decided he was actually a woman in a man's body.

Now he thinks he's a full blown girl named Chelsea Elizabeth Manning.

Now then, as I have maintained innumerable times your sex is determined by the configuration of your sex chromosomes aka "genotype".

• If your genotype configuration is XX you are a female.
• If your genotype configuration is XY you're a male.
• If your genotype configuration is some composite of the two you're a chromosomal mosaic aka "intersex".

Those are your choices in life as we know it.

You aren't a female (or male) just because you say so.

Bradley Manning's genotype is XY. This renders him a male.

All of the manipulation of his phenotype (outward appearance including cosmetics, hormones, and surgery) he can do is not going to change his genetics.

He remains a genetic male and that is as far as you go with me.

I don't care about your feelings. I care about the biology. I care about the science.

A man who thinks he is a woman is about as unrealistic as the fifteen inch penis I always thought I was supposed to have. Sometimes you need to face reality and let the illogical go.

The fact that he is a totally screwed up individual is neither here nor there. How could he be anything BUT screwed up.

His is a constant progression of bad moves and someone that stupid should stay in the background as much as possible.

Just because the traitor brigand Obama commuted his sentence doesn't make it right.

Just saying you are something does not make it so. Biology tells the tale.

When you're a fairly unscrupulous immoral human being anyway what does your genotypical sex matter to those equally unsavory no character individuals you attract.

Some other equally fugly, deranged dissatisfied human being.

Duh.

The Refrigerator William Perry on his Birthday
William Anthony Perry
I once saw The Fridge and his brother standing on the front porch of his home on state road 19 (Edgefield Highway) on the outskirts of Aiken, SC a very long time ago while returning to Columbia from a teaching gig at Aiken Technical College.

My memories were of two strapping black men standing on the porch up a hill in leather coats and hats standing there looking quite majestic.

The Fridge has seen better days, I'm afraid. He's had a number of health problems related to the wear and tear of his sports endeavors and financial issues otherwise since his heyday with The Bears in the NFL.

I'm hoping his memories of being the heaviest person to ever score a touchdown in a Superbowl game and his largest ever (size 25) Superbowl Ring sustains him in these waining years.

When we get on in years a lot of times we mostly have our memories.

Anyway William Anthony Perry was born December 16, 1962 so this would make him 59 years young and I hope his problems all abate and he enjoys the rest of his time here in this iteration.

He always struck me as a likable character — and over the years I have regretted not stopping the automobile and getting out to speak with him and his brother on that day so long ago.

We were both much younger men at that time.

Happy birthday to you !

If it's only available on Amazon I don't want it
    amazon and walmart suck
I hate to get off on yet another rant here, but I don't shop amazon. I'm pretty much done with walmart as well.

These are two retailers who think that they own you. Shit for IP geolocation. Act as though you can't spend your money elsewhere.

When all you can do is piss a customer off I ask you, why bother ?

I increasingly notice a fair number of items I would like to have being only available on Amazon.

I am fine with doing without.

I don't require any more stupidity in my life than already exists. All they have is a sad story, idiot employees, and substandard merchandising and it's just more than I care to continue tolerating.

You think you must accommodate their every whim to do business with them.

I can simply go down the street and get what I require from a local brick and mortar establishment and circumvent all the ecommerce bullshit.

Bullshit, thy name is amazon.
Bullshit, you also are called walmart.

Monkey Day 2021
pygmy marmoset
When I was en route from Hanahan, SC to Key West Florida with my family during my daddy's Navy change of duty station we stopped at many of the various tourist traps along the way.

One of those was a place called 'Alligator Farm' or something similar and yes, there were many gators, some of which were ginormous.

The thing I left there remembering was a cage full of baby monkeys which were for sale huddled together looking cold and noticing the flea infestation and just how miserable they appeared.

Monkey Day is one of those unofficial international holidays celebrated each December 14.

This holiday was created and popularized in 2000 by Casey Sorrow and Eric Millikin while they were students at Michigan State University pursuing art. I have wondered just what the allure was over the years.

Monkey Day celebrates "all things simian" such as apes, chimps, tarsiers, lemurs, and other non human primates.

Monkey Day is celebrated worldwide. It is aka World Monkey Day and International Monkey Day.

I mark the day because I feel that wild animals such as monkeys are similar enough to people and should be celebrated ... from the biggest mightiest gorilla to the tiniest most delicate pygmy marmoset. Too often we impose our human whims on other species in the name of research, entertainment, and even the impulses of those who would exploit that which should be allowed to remain wild and unfettered.

Perhaps other avenues in these areas might be more appropriate.
