Rudelle Eaddy's Funeral was today
Rudelle Eaddy

I am sad to note the passing of Rudelle Eaddy, the mother of my sister-in-law and a friend of mine.

Rudelle was one of those people who could really be entertaining in casual conversation.

She had her ideas and could express herself with the best of them.

I enjoyed her perspectives on matters of life and she was able to convey them so well.

I attended the funeral service with Mom and it was a very uplifting experience given who she was and what she was all about I am sure she looked down upon us with a smile.

Rudelle Eaddy has the distinction of being the ONLY person to remember my name the second time we met.

She and I hit it off from the beginning and it was sad to witness her decline over the years.

She is now with her late husband and without the infirmities of our earthly bodies.

Rest in peace, Rudelle.

Her yard was always full of beautiful blooming flowers. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, throws, and clothes for her dolls; many were gifts for friends and family. She loved having friends and family gather at her home to visit especially during the holidays. Christmas was always a big celebration at Rudelle’s home.

Rudelle was the person that would light up the room, she never met a stranger and viewed everyone as a friend. Wireless Provisioning for Mama
    Netgear AX6000 WiFi Extender

They're getting close on Mom's house so I decided to get a wireless range extender so that her internet experience won't degrade in her new place.

My primary considerations in the choice of extenders were the technical specs.

The one I chose will provide the most bandwidth and coverage though the distance between our houses doesn't really REQUIRE extending per se ... but I wanted to go for the gusto.

The fact that it is in the same product line as the router it will extend is neither here nor there.

Mom has really taken to the wireless on the homestead given the trouncing she took at the hands of Consumer Cellular ...

They have a decidedly finite definition of "unlimited" and simply cut you off without warning until you pay them additional money.

Their treatment of her was totally unsatisfactory and has left me considerably chapped with both them and AARP who recommended their sorry asses.

Misrepresenting the deal is never okay.

So now she will essentially have the same connectivity in her new house as she does in her room in my house where she is holding temporary audience.

There are some things you don't mess with and my mama is one of them.

She gets the technological edge she needs because of who she is. She has earned this consideration and provisioning on this — her new frontier.

Consumer Cellular (and AARP) can simply go to Hell.

February 6th is Pay a Compliment Day
Angry Woman
A compliment is a polite expression of praise or admiration.

Flattering remarks, tributes, accoldaes, and praise all fall under the same umbrella.

If you get carried away as in a speech or eulogy the expression becomes an encomium which originates from the mid 16th century latin and is somewhat archaiac in these times.

I like to pass on a compliment or two along the way ...

Well, there's the kiss of death:

She's got a great personality !

There's the countryfied standout:

Gee, for a fat girl you sure don't sweat much !

And it's more urbane variant:

You look damn good to be as fat as you is !

You too can have ALL the je ne sais quoi P-Diddy thinks he has.

So I suppose the moral of the story is to be cautious in the rendering of compliments lest you mess up as I have witnessed in the hilarious past.

Happy Pay a Compliment Day to you !

National Fart Day 2022
    Karen Griffin farts on Peter
Well, I hate to admit this but I have my gassy moments.

The character of these episodes range from explosive outgassing, silent but deadly, loud but harmless, the occasional whiny squeaker, and even the rare shart; which is a later development in my evolution.

I have never been one to comply with any norms of behavior imposed by others upon me.

Actually, I used to until I realized that the vast number of those in my midst are stupid — even with advanced degrees.

Inasmuch as that evidence is overwhelming at this miserable political juncture; I now would just as soon fart on you as look at you.

I don't laugh and try to blame it on you in an elevator — I just admit it and depart to leave you marinating in the methane from my hot burn ass emission.

Since 2008, National Fart Day has been held each February 5.

The main purpose of the day to provide release without consideration of etiquette and those other interpersonal niceties our chief executive chose to disregard as he farted in the presence of Camilla Parker Bowles ... of ALL people.

Then he turned around and pooped in the presence of the pope.

So flatulence is the very least of our worries in the world of woke idiots, cancel culture slobs, BLM marxist fakers out to rob the nation, and antifa subversives out to destroy us all and affix the blame on others.

Stupid democrats and progressives are a highly appropriate reason to participate in National Fart Day.

Go fart on a democrat or progressive each and every time you have a notion.

My left lower leg is a little swollen
I am experiencing mild swelling of my left lower leg.

This was brought to my attention by my diabetic foot care woman, Mrs Goodfoot on Knox Abbott Drive in Cayce who noticed it immediately when I sat in the chair whereas I did not and cannot state how long the condition has existed.

The persistence of this over several days since I was advised of it's existence has both alarmed me a little and had me thinking about the cause and effect behind such new developments.

I have determined that my recent heavy consumption of microwave popcorn must be the crux of the issue.

Orville Redenbachers Ultimate Butter
Yes, I have eaten Oville Redenbacher's Ultimate Butter popcorn with wild abandon as though they were never going to make any more.

I personally feel the Ultimate Butter variety probably includes an unmentioned ultimate salt content as well.

Sodium is needed to help our bodies carry out normal functions, but too much sodium can be problematic and cause some serious health issues.

Anyway, leg swelling can occur in any part of the legs, including the feet, ankles, calves and thighs.

Leg swelling can result either from fluid retention or inflammation in injured or diseased tissues or joints.

Many of the causes of leg swelling, such as an injury or prolonged standing or sitting, are common, easily identified and no reason for concern.

Sometimes leg swelling can indicate a more serious disorder, such as heart disease or thrombus (a blood clot).

Many factors can cause leg swelling. Some are more serious than others.

Specific rationales for diminishing sodium levels in the body include:

•   increase water consumption
•   increase potassium
•   increase physical activity
•   decrease salt intake

I'll just have to work on this new problem and see how things go.

American Painters Day 2022
    Norman Rockwell

I once fancied myself a painter and even dabbled in oils.

While my efforts were totally without merit; they did inspire me to go the sketch route and I still sketch to this day.

The world has a great many painters who have made their marks with particular distinction in the field and for which massive amounts of fundage are paid for examples of their work.

Alas, this will never be me.

However, American Painters Day honors all Americans who paint.

Insasmuch as the day is held on the birthday of Norman Rockwell a lot of emphasis is placed upon him this day.

He was born in New York City on today's date in 1894.

He is a truly excellent example of one who understood application of paint on canvas.

A virtuoso of that ubiquitous medium called oils.

National Heavenly Hash Day 2022
Heavenly Hash
Once upon a time I was naive enough to believe that Heavenly Hash was JUST a flavor of ice cream.

This is because it was one of my earliest and longest standing favorite flavors of ice cream with which I ever indulged myself.

So nowadays in my enlightened old age I have discovered that heavenly hash is merely a combination of flavors used together in various dishes which qualify for that same name as the ice cream, Heavenly Hash.

National Heavenly Hash Day is held each February 2nd and concerns itself with a favorite taste combination that covers a variety of desserts with common ingredients.

My take on Heavenly Hash spins around marshmallow, nuts, and chocolate. Yours may differ more or less in any direction.

The important thing to remember is it doesn't have to be ice cream as I so mistakenly believed for some 60 years !

Some of these concoctions qualifying as Heavenly Hash can be very exotic combinations of fruits, chocolate, nuts, marshmallow, pastry, baked goods ... and yes ice cream; and even may contain brandy and/or liqueur.

Tastes vary as do those many versions of Heavenly Hash.

National Coon History Month 2022
    National Coon History Month 2022

February brings us National Coon History Month.

It is originally a contrivance of the United States to cultivate a national feeling of guilt for some misbegotten perception of mistreated coons.

Now it is simply an annual observance originating in the United States and is getting official recognition from governments in the United States and Canada, and more recently has been observed in Ireland, and the United Kingdom because there are a lot of whining coons there too.

The crux of the observance is to take note of the coon as a downtrodden species needing affirmative action and preferential treatment to survive in a world in which they cannot adequately compete because coon lives matter.

Happy National Coon History Month !

Corn Laws abolished in Britain
Some laws are bad ideas. Laws like the seat belt laws where people think they need to control every aspect of your existence like the overstepping retired bimbo Senator John Land, a moron who pushed them here in South Carolina.

Maze ... you call it corn
Bad ideas like the Corn Laws of Britain which were a set of taxes and restrictions which increased the price of corn and other staple grain crops like wheat and barley were abolished in Great Britain.

Designed to protect British farmers from imported grain obtained at a bargain price the corn laws were a response to the Napoleonic wars with a British blockade of Europe leading to an increase in profits for the local economy and farmers attempting to retain the higher profits.

The economics trickled down to bread and the cost of living in gernal and limited the disposable income of Brits as a whole limiting economic growth.

It reached the point where the working class was unable to afford anything other than food and they were forced to stop buying manufactured goods, reducing the profits to the manufacturing sector of the economy.

The working class were hurt by the corn laws while the wealthy 3 percent who voted benefited.

The prolonged allowance of this disparity led to widespread rioting and this was the beginning of the end of the corn laws despite what the elite wanted for themselves.

On this day in 1849 the Corn Laws were abolished in Britain.

Spotify removes Neil Young
    Neil Young

When I was in the Navy my best friend was a big fan of Neil Young.

He has a very long history as a musician and Jerry was a guitar afficinado — therefore Neil Young was a favorite in his long list of frequented performers.

Well Jerry's dead now and Neil has turned into this namby pamby crybaby gonna take his toys and go home.

He issued an ultimatum to Spotify this week saying that he or Joe Rogan was going to have to leave Spotify.

He went further to flaunt his ignorance by accusing Rogan of COVID misinformation.

All of this because he interviewed an infectious disease specialist who opposes COVID-19 vaccines for children.

Spotify took the high road and stated how it regrets having to remove Neil Young's music from their platform.

Maybe he's fried his brain because he certainly doesn't present all that lucid a visage anymore ... not that he was ever pretty.

The moral of the story is that your politics don't always mix well with your career.

So much for that respect I once garnered for Neil Young.

He and that other woke bullshitter Schwarzenegger can both haul ass for parts unknown.

Boo!

My daddy's birthday 2022
Mom and Dad Easter 2001

I lost my dad December 4, 2001 at 8:00 pm to a multitude of disease problems which were the direct result of his life long relationship with tobacco.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Bronchitis
Bronchopleural Fistula
Emphysema
Pneumonia
Empyema Thoracis
Cor Pulmonale

While I cannot blame healthcare providers for his choices in life, I was left with the feeling that some of those directly responsible for his care could have really given a rip about him and this has left me reticent to interact with health care professionals as a group to this day.

Be all of this as it may I have missed my daddy even though we had a troubled relationship of our own — but in the end I only wanted what was best for him and he really did have a hard painful ending trying to stay with us.

Sometimes there are far worse situations than end of life.

So each year when his birthday comes around I say a little prayer and thank God for him and thank him for being there for me and that's about all I can do anymore.

I am 66 years old and to this day I sometimes cry over his passing and the way it all went down.

As far as I am concerned there should have been more "care" in that terminal care he received.

Apparently it was simply expecting too much.

Space Shuttle Challenger disintegrates with no survivors
Challenger STS-51-L crew

I remember what I was doing on this day in 1986. I was sitting before the television watching coverage of mission STS-51-L of the space shuttle program aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger which disintegrated due to structural failure some 73 seconds after liftoff in a large explosion and none of the seven astronauts on board survived.

The mission ran for 1 minute 13 seconds prior to the disaster.

Within the calendar Apollo1 and STS-51-L are quite proximal. However, the Challenger disaster and Apollo 1 fire are quite remote from the standpoint of actual time indices.

The Challenger disaster was a shocking moment for me personally. Likely the fact that I viewed the event on live television added to the impact. Some of the discovery process undertaken in trying to ascertain the cause and effects of this tragedy were in their own light disturbing as well with accusations of 'convenient memory' and to this day I think the mission should have gone down in warmer weather.

I think the "O rings" said to be the fundamental failure might have fared better.

The doomed flight was the 25th mission of the United States Space Shuttle program and was intended to carry out routine transportation for Earth-to-orbit crew and cargo. It was the implementation of the first Teacher in Space Project. It was also scheduled as the final flight of Space Shuttle Challenger.

Commander    Francis R Scobee
Pilot     Michael J Smith
Mission Specialist 1    Ellison S Onizuka
Mission Specialist 2    Judith A Resnik
Mission Specialist 3    Ronald E McNair
Payload Specialist 1    Gregory B Jarvis
Payload Specialist 2    S Christa McAuliffe

I recall thinking how badly things must be turning out as the officials quickly led the parents of Christa McAuliffe from the grandstands where they had assembled to watch the lift off. Her father in particular tore at my heartstrings as he walked away. Even then I had a soft spot for daddies and mamas.

Such went the Satellite deployment, Christa McAuliffe the first teacher in space, Ron McNair who was one of the sharpest intellects with whom I have ever interacted, not to forget Judy Resnick who was a engineering marvel qualified in multiple disciplines ... INCLUDING my own; and all seven souls will — like the crew of Apollo 1 — go down in history as heroes of the United States and NASA.

Rest in peace.

Apollo 1 Fire of 1967
Apollo1 Grissom White Chaffee

On this day in 1967 a fire aboard the Apollo 1 Command Module killed astronauts Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger B Chaffee during a launch rehearsal.

I was 12 and this was one of those sobering childhood memories I've kept with me all these years.

I had nightmares of Gus Grissom screaming in pain after learning of the injuries imparted to the astronauts due to the conflagration contained within that technology in which they were rehearsing for their upcoming mission.

Sometimes our careers require everything we are for keeps.

Such was the fate of Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger B Chaffee, heroes of the United States and NASA.

Rest in peace.

The Clinton and Lewinsky scandal of 1998
You can tell when a democrat is lying because their lips move

On this day in 1998, democrat, liar, and President William Jefferson Clinton went on national television and denied having "sexual relations" with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky to whom he referred as "that woman".

WHell, the situation escalated.

The Executive staff thought they would intimidate and threaten the young woman who proved more than the establishment could bear with her blue dress and goodly stain of DNA evidence consisting of presidential man chowder.

I remember Chris Rock defending his homeboy on his television special saying how he only "lied about sex" and who doesn't lie about sex?

So thus the President had to eat those words and recant on yet another broadcast.

quagmire coming clean
I did gigoogity that girl.
I geschmoigiddied her geflavaty with my googus, and I am sorry.

Quagmire comes clean on boinking Loretta

Not that I blame him for trying to escape all the fugliness imparted by Hillary upon their relationship, eh Webster Hubbell?

Luckily he was simply in keeping with the fact that you can tell when a democrat is lying because their lips move.

Not too much can be said for Ms Lewinsky either — the actively pursuing television publicity with "exclusive rights" seeking slut.

Too bad ... if Oprah can't have all of it she doesn't want any of it.

So the Clintons became left with two choices, Jeffrey Epstein's French fries or pizza.
