Confederate Memorial Day 2019

Confederate Battle Flag
Confederate Memorial Day is a regional celebration of those heros of the American Civil War who fought for the South.

While it has wide support in the South the jurisdictions vary in the date of it's observance, relevant to various events which happened in their areas.

While the uninitiated correlate the Confederate States of America to the cause of slavery this is not remotely the truth and illustrates a failure of historical knowledge ... namely:

1. Most of the North wanted slavery as well.
2. "Red Letter Day" or the arrival of the first slaves to the South was instigated by Dutch traders, not Southerners.
3. Confederate Memorial Day marks a remembrance for those who fought and died defending the Confederate States of America.
4. Many people of the present have ancestors who perished in the "War between the States" ... some absolutely horribly.

This holiday is observed by jurisdictions relevant to those who served in The Confederacy. Other jurisidictions relegate it to the background because they're either historically ignorant, populated with some immigrants who really think we should replace our history with theirs, or worse — leftist fecal debris thinking they have a relevant point to make when they don't.

Regardless, I honor those who served the Confederate States of America and as such this is an offical holiday to me personally.

I care not what anyone else thinks regarding the matter and I recognize that dissidents surround me.

Think what you will.
