Since 1967, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) has provided the public the right to request access to records from any federal agency. It is often described as the law that keeps citizens in the know about their government. Federal agencies are required to disclose any information requested under the FOIA unless it falls under one of nine exemptions which protect interests such as personal privacy, national security, and law enforcement.

Freedom of Information Day is an observance of laws which require governmental agencies to provide information they have regarding the specifics of their activities to those who file the requisite paperwork.
Nowadays some places like dirtbag incorporated municipalities charge exorbitant fees in an effort to quash your legal rights. I personally feel that charging thousands of dollars for copies of documents to be intentional intent to keep you from the information instead of reasonable recovery of expenses.
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) was passed on July 4, 1966, and became active the next year. It states that an individual can demand the information they want by requesting it, and this information is provided free of cost or with a minimal fee.

The date was chosen as James Madison’s birthday. He was the fourth President of the US and was born on March 16, 1751. He is said to be the “Father of the US Constitution” and drafted then promoted both the US Constitution and associated Bill of Rights.
Like I said, you may have the rights but others will attempt to adversely impact your attempts to exercise your rights. It may be that the information has conveniently been "lost" or other schemes to keep the data from you.
Privacy sometimes becomes very expensive to maintain in the world of government, it's employees, and documents.

- National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence 2024

In my life I have experienced violence and bullies and those who would attempt dominance of me via fisticuffs.
Well, I must say that this has left me liking the 'rough stuff' because I for one and not one to back down from a confrontation and if I'm packing you take your life into you own hands.
It will never be me to pick a fight or ridicule others in some misbegotton attempt to "look cool" or squash another's arrogance.
I prefer a low key approach as long as you keep your hands to yourself and your idiot mouth closed to me.
What you do to others is between you and them unless you cross family or friendship boundaries.
Today is National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence. It's observed in Australia on the on the third Friday in March annually.
Addressing and preventing bullying is an admirable pursuit.
I dare say that stopping before acting or shooting off the mouth can go along way toward keeping you off a trauma ward or out of a reconstructive dentist's chair.
Don't bully others. You won't have much in the way of sympathy when it all goes wrong and it most certainly may.

- National Write Your Story Day 2024

When I was in school I fancied myself a writer. I would engage all manner of fictional accounts of various happenings and it was all good fun for a while.
Today is National Write Your Story Day.
It is held each March 14 since September 2017 as a vehicle to write your story.
It began under the auspices of one Mitzy who is an african american woman, author, artist, guide, and founder of "Mitzy TV".
The celebration goes down every March 14 anymore. The day encourages you to be committed to writing your story. That engagement which will allow you to share personal or common experience among others you encounter. This blog is an offshoot of the fact that when I gave up on being a writer there was still something to say.
So I sometimes recount episodes in my life tied to events of the present in an effort to capture that old set of feelings that once cause wonderment that left me long ago.
Whereas I was once filled with fascination now I simply yawn and move on.
Such things become problematic in the process of that routinization secondary to growing older.

- National No Smoking Day 2024

Many years ago I used to smoke a lot. I gave it up quite a while back when I engaged my recreational drug discontinuation. I figured tar and nicotine to be just another set of recreational drugs to be shunned like the pills and the pot and the alcohol.
Today is National No Smoking Day. It is observed each second Wednesday of March so this year it will fall on March 13, 2024. The day is meant to provide a vehicle to reach out to smokers in your midst and encourage them to quit.
It would seem that the cardiovascular effects alone are sufficent to warrant cessation. The day began in 1984 on Ash Wednesday, appropriate enough I believe. Anyway the less you smoke the healthier you will be. Those deleterious effects can be reversed up to a point after you stop smoking.
If you wont' do it for YOU do it for someone you care for who doesn't want to see you die prematurely. I lost my beloved daddy to the effects of smoking because he could not put them down. Don't allow them to gain such a grip on you.

Cyber censorship is the limiting of availability of internet content to a person for whatever reason. There are massive culprets engaging in this behavior. These are the persons who think they are above you and therefore qualified to control what you may or may not see on the internet.
This limitation is achieved by firewalls and code segments designed to evaluate that which is being sought and diallow it based on user inputs. It is a slimy endeavor of the social media platforms and is of the nature of espionage whereby they only allow that content THEY want you to see.
The chinese state is the last word in both censorship and the violation of human rights. The WEP and evil Klaus Schwab are right up there with him. Schwab thinks he will own you and everything you have and his organzation will control every aspect of your existence as though none of us will blow him away for getting in our face the first time.
Facebook and it's new name Meta are first headed the scum Mark Zuckerberg is notorious for his control of what you are allowed to see when on his platform.
It is alleged that Bill Gates wants to disable windows for anyone stating views dissenting for any reason from his sick narrative.
Of course the censorship and espionnage of TikTok and bullshit other telephone apps the younger individuals go for are frequently controlled for what is seen and what may be seen ... and it must adhere to their narative first and foremost.
The problem with cyber censorship is it goes against that freedom which was once the purview of the internet.
Now you either allow censorship or do your own thing.
Personally, I prefer doing my own thing, going my own way rather than being controlled by some idiot chinese bitch F☠cking whiteboy or software magnate turned turd. BTW, Windoze is certainly NOT the only show in town. I for one would be quite satisfied in the Unix arena now and forever.
I am quite happy to lose the junk whenever and wherever. I even have an SSD loaded for bear and ready to go.
Today is World Day Against Cyber Censorship. It goes hand in hand with "net neutrality" and the "common carrier" status of blocked banning and throttling. The day goes down each March 12. Cybercensored connections are an abomiation and adequate cause to terminate any relationship with an uplink ISP. Good luck with that if all you can do is a smartphonne. - National Immune System Day 2024

Early in my career I was on a strict medical tract. I was a medical database administrator and devoted extensive time to learning the interactions of hepatic microsomal enzymes as well as the interaction of superoxide dismutase on DNA. During this period I was also a student of the immune system as the practice in which I worked on the West coast was primarily devoted to those devastating diseases with guarded prognoses and typically morbid outcomes.
It was there I learned about T cells and B cells and their interaction in those disease processes I encountered in my work.
T-cells are one of several types of white blood cells. They are called lymphocytes and help your immune system fight germs and protect you from disease. The two main varieties are: Cytotoxic T-cells which destroy infected cells Helper T-cells signal directinng other immune cells to fight infection
B-cells are a type of white blood cell known as lymphocytes. Your immune system detects antigens which are markers indicating some threat such as bacteria or virus which has entered the body B-cells protect you from infection by making proteins called antibodies to fight the infection.
Alas, all of this became for naught for me personally when I abandoned medical school for the field in which I was already working, that of computers. I began as a medical database administrator and predate the personal computer by a number of years. My work began on minicomputers, then branched out to microcomputers, mainframes and I was partial to the Digital Equipment Corporation line of machines.
Be all of this as it may, it is appropriate to pay homage to the T and B cells which fight infections and foreign invaders and I bear that in mind when I'm thinking about supplements.
I took Ecological Formulas T and B Cell formulas religiously for about 20 years starting in the late 1970s though 1990s.
Without a functional immune system we would not live very long. With the likes of the evil Bill Gates and the WEF et al trying to kill us the world is an increasingly unhealthy place as evidenced by the purchased "research" with results to order sold by Harvard University and other charletains among us trying to have their way with humanity. Our lowered life expectancy is evidence of those trying to take over the world for themselves.

- International Bagpipe Day 2024

My maternal heritage is Scot. My ancestors hail from Scotland and England long ago.
One of those aspects which has intrigued me about my lineage is the bagpipe. I have heard them being played on several occasions in my life and the last one being at the funeral of my dearly departed Aunt Glenda Johnston Jolly which was held September 6th, 2002 with me in attendance.
Today is International Bagpipe Day.
It is observed each March 10th and celebrates the bagpipes, which have been in use since 400 BC. I believe them to be an acquired musical taste and I have enjoyed their strains on various occasions including Amazing Grace played by LCDR Scott at the first timeline funeral of Spock — after he had transfered his katra to Dr McCoy — in orbit around the planet Genesis on Star Trek TOS long ago.
The bagpipe is a unique instrument indigenous to Scotland and Ireland. They require an air supply and include a blowpipe, the bag, the chanter, the chanter reed, and one or more drones from which the music eminates.
I hope you'll engage the next opportunity to hear the bag pipe. Like I said, it is an acquired taste. I didn't like the sound very much during my first few listenings.

Codger in Chief Joesph Biden gave an expected lame lying ass state of the union address to congress Thursday evening regurgitating various sections of previous speeches interspersed with interludes of acusatory bullshit and that constant blaming of the Republicans for everything which has gone wrong in the nation.
This guy still doesn't realize how inept he is and the idiotic rantings of MSNBC would have you believe this man is "at the top his game" when he is pitifully lacking in all areas of cognition and judgement. Did IQs suddenly drop across the nation. It would appear so.
This failing senile has been criminal has really caused the embarassment of that lawless element in our midst called the democrat party but all too many of them are too stupid to realize it apparently.
After lambasting Donald Trump and calling him 'Adolf Hitler' of all things he had the audacity to go on tirade after tirade spouting off unjustified criticisms of the Republicans present. It would have been amusing except he REMAINS in office doing more and more damage with each passing day.
The democrat party should be held accountable for this abominable mess they have created.
He lied about the economy, inflation, and taxes. He refused to acknowledge the border crisis that HE created. He went on about 'shrinkflation' as though it were a real thing and not the inflation mess he has wrought upon the nation.
The only real priority he set forth was Ukrane and sending more money on top of the billions they have already squandered. Joseph Biden is apparently much more concerned with Ukrane then he is regarding our border. He appears to think the taxpayer funding is for his personal use.
He had a Gold Star Father arrested for heckling him. One Steve Nikoui who lost his son LCpl Kareem Nikoui in the botched Afghanistan withdrawl orchestrated by the woke loser Biden military was put in jail for calling him on his failure as Commander In Chief. There is not a good decision to be had by this man.
Shame Joseph Biden. You REALLY need to go back to your basement. You are the epitome of that utter lack of leadership demonstrated by the entirety of the democrat party and our nation remains in ever increasing decline.

- National Kite Flying Day 2024

When I was young I was a fan of kites.
My skills were nil but I could occasionally make one soar far above me.
One time in Key West I let go of the string which was wound around a small hammer which struck me in the face.
My dismay surrounded the kite flying off into parts unknown.
When I ran in the house to tell my mother she was more concerned with the blood pouring down my forehead.
So — I've had good kite experiences and bad kite experiences.
Those experiences you have relate to the specifics of your environment and just what type of field you have available to gain loft ...
National Kite Flying Day gives you the opportunity to send a kite soaring above the land as long as you have a fairly steady wind.
Anyway, try not to get struck by any attachments to that string you're holding.

Today is nametag day. A nametag is a badge or sticker worn on the outermost garment as a means of identification of that wearer for others to view.
When I was in the Navy Reserve the people at the Pickens Street Prison thought it was their duty to call me down when I declined to voluntarily wear a name tag.
It simply wasn't something to which I had agreed to do up front and it was not 'uniform of the day' in any of my previous commands either.
I hate bossy WAVES and we had a few prowling the halls ... shaving was another thing I was SUPPOSED to be able to forego, but they whined about that too. I viewed it all as overstep and treated it as such.
Nametag Day is observed on the first Thursday in March which makes it fall on March 7 this year. It has been in existence since 1997, when it was started by a well-known American onomatologist (professional busybody) named Jerry Hills.
If you choose to comply with the wishes of those who think they have some God given right to know your name, more power to you !

He was born March 6, 1947. That would make his meathead ass 77 years old. It's surprising that a human without a brain would live that long. Must be autonomic functionality kicking in here because it's sure NOT any form of intellect.

Today is Disaster Day.
It happens each February 5th.
What a nice day to consider the biggest disaster to ever hit the nation, but the stolen election of Biden and Harris and the subsequent devastation and utter chaos they have brought to the land.

It's World Day of Fight Against Sexual Exploitation and is a time to raise voices against all manner of sexual exploitation.

- Navy Reserve Birthday 2024

I was a Navy reservist. My program was called 3x6 whereby I did bootcamp, A School, then 3 years active duty followed by 2 years active reserve and then 1 year inactive reserve. When I was on active duty I made every effort to be "squared away" with conduct which was beyond reproach. I'm afraid my active reserve time was not nearly so illustrious ... and to tell the truth I wasn't all that proud of my performance on active duty either. I feel that I always held back and did not do my utmost during my service in the Navy.
So this has caused me to engage enhanced support of my ship's Reunion Association in an effort to make meager amends for my failures as a sailor and I mail them a monthly check in addition to the dues to hopefully ensure they have adequate fundage for whatever comes up in the way of operating expenses.
Today is the Naval Reserve Birthday. It is observed each March 3rd in commemoration of the establishment of the United States Navy Reserve in 1915.
On March 3, 1915 legislation was enacted by congress to establish the Federal Navy Reserve. On April 6, 1917, it was renamed the US Naval Reserve Force. The Naval Reserve Force entered World War I with about 8,000 sailors, growing to 250,000 reservists by the end of the war. The Reserve also served in World War II comprising some 84% of the United States Navy manpower. Reservists also served in other major armed conflicts like Korea and Vietnam and the first Gulf war as well as in Bosnia and Kosovo. In 2005, our Naval Reserve Force was renamed to Navy Reserve.
Anyway — so I wasn't a stellar sailor as was my dad and two brothers. However, I have managed to squeak by with my pitiful attempts at making amends so that I don't feel quite as guilty about it all as I once did.
