Rare Disease Day 2023
The end of February marks a number of appropriate endings. Yet the ramifications remain that too much is honored where chastisement is much more appropriate.

covid 19 the Fauci Demon
This last day of February concerns itself with rare diseases among other things mostly lesser in the scheme of cosmic import.

However, the day makes no mention of foolhardy gain of function work of the likes of the criminal physician Anthony Fauci who fell under no oversight by anyone in multiple administrations and was allowed to loose a deadly virus upon the world from China because nobody in the administration is responsible for anything ever.

Rare Disease Day concerns itself with those 1 in 20 individuals who actually contract a rare disese.

It doesn't bring to light that accountability which should have been in place to rein in the mad scientist types like Dr Fauci who would just as soon lie to the world and kill us all than come clean on his complicent involvement because the rest of the administration is just as crooked and inept as he is.

I keep wondering what happend to character and forthright conduct in our nation.

It seems that election to office is now designed to rape and pillage the land as if it is owned by the so-called "public servant". So if you really want to talk rare disease talk Dr Anthony Fauci. He took a non exIstent disease and made it deadly to the masses.

Then the lab in which he did this nefarious work loosed it on the world without personal consequence. The Wuhan China Virus is the Fauci Virus. Set upon the planet with impunity by an evil mad scientist in an evil country with morbid murderous intent.

There was no accountability at all. Nobody did anything about it.

Retro Day 2023
    retro Hepburn era dress
There have been times when I dressed in 'vintage' clothing — garments which were much older than I was.

I did this because they were of a fine quality and very well kept over the years and I enjoyed wearing them in those days.

My tastes went through the ridiculous 'trends' of silk and pastels through the present day iteration of Dave ...

Which is largely utilitarian and business formal with shorts predominating in my retirement.

Today is Retro Day.

It goes down each February 27 and celebrates those classic aspects of our existence.

The genre encompasses everything from clothes, to cars, to music, and art so you don't have to be old-fashioned to indulge yourself in some blast from the past.

The historical past is where the roots of retro day arise and goes beyond material goods and physical possessions through trends, modes of operation, and even attiitudes.

So if you're so inclined go ahead and don the zoot suit and get jiggy !

Black Lives Matter Day 2023
BLM founding marxist misappropriators

One of the biggest utter farces released upon the world at large is Black Lives Matter.

Touted to be a thing promoting the longevity of and fairness to black people, it quickly devolved into the money grubbing den of thieves misapproriating funds it presently is ...

Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation scarfs up all the cash contributions then funnels it to various persons involved in the BLM start up who then distribute it to their family and cronies all over.

That scam which is Black Lives Matter says it's a vehicle for black lives mattering when it is merely a mechanism to fleece all the stupid black and white contributors who feel so woke as to ignore just where their money is going.

What a stupid bunch of people. Take that knee stupid dupes lacking the wherewithall of realization. You know not who you support, and moreso the nature of that support. If you support BLM you are a fool.

Today is Black Lives Matter Day. It is celebrated annually on February 26 in remembrance of the thug Trayvon Martin, a black teen who thought he was "all that" and was killed by a white American protecting himself when he was attacked.

The acquittal of his killer, George Zimmerman regarding murder charges caused a wave of widespread prejudicial anger which is a function of the unmitigated gall to which a group feels they are entitled is outrageous.

Add to this the call for reparations as if affirmative action wasn't already more than enough and you have a group of greedy needy individuals unable to function in the world. So they demand undeserved handouts in the name of some woke ideology which simply doesn't wash.

There has been more justice and fairness leveled towards black people than I ever enjoyed in my life time. Black Lives Matter is a chant by dullard uninformed people to provide their marxist leadership the opportunity to rip off any and all contributions made to this fake organization.

Why don't you stupid people join in the movement "allegedly" to end discrimination and just see if you get any of the piece of that massive pie they are reserving for their corrupt selves, indulging their families, and cronies.

You'll get nothing except a lower bank balance.

Black Lives Matter is a phony institution designed to enrich the crooks that started it.

Boo Fools !

Quiet Day 2023
    quiet girl
Noise seems to be everywhere.

It is difficult to avoid in the hubub of our activities of daily living.

Quiet is characterized by little or no noise, turmoil or agitation. It is an environment of calm and provides or allows relaxation. It is restful and soothing.

That tranquil person who can sometimes be Dave was a very late bloomer in this reality.

I've led a quite the boisterous life.

Only in my later years did I really have any appreciation for quiet.

Suffice it to say just another ruckus was second nature.

Today is Quiet Day.

It is observed annually each February 25.

Peacefulness assists in calming us down and aids in the recentering of our existence.

Quiet therfore is good for both the body as well as the mind.

World Bartender Day 2023
watering hole bar
My young cousin Michael is a bartender. He likes the work and the social aspects of the environment.

My tastes are far removed from his in this regard. I prefer a quiet back office where I can sit before my machine and hammer out code or stand at a bench engaged in hardware repair. He does a bit of web development, but is not the code warrior I once was.

This retirement thingie of mine leaves a lot of time for all that stuff I once wanted to engage — but with which I no longer bother.

I keep thinking that the bar tending world might be a suitable retirement employment for me. I just don't feel I meet an adequate level of social compatibility. I'm way too type A and way too predisposed to solitude so a loud raucous environment with televisions blaring some sports event as you frequently encounter in the various bars just could never float my boat.

Today is World Bartender Day. It happens on February 24 to celebrate bar tenders internationally. Bar flies like so many of those with whom I am acquainted hold the bar tender as an indispensible part of their lives. I'm sure the hospitality industry holds them in high regard ...

That's it !

I lack sufficent hospitality to be a bar tender. Besides, I don't want my existence to be pursuant to gratuities either.

Happy World Bartender Day to Michael and the rest of you bartenders out there. I hope you have a good day and may your tip jar overfloweth !

National Rationalization Day 2023
    rationalization in progress
Justification is a difficult matter for some. That ability to vindicate your position and/or action is fraught with those pitfalls associated with the interpretation of others.

A laidback approach is something I pursued early on. Nowadays I don't attempt much in the way of rationalization of anything anymore. My thrust at this juncture is just saying what I mean and meaning what I say.

Luckily I can stand on my own skills and make due without any input from anyone else.

I have earned my place in society and such that is is, I accept it without making excuses or attempt at justification ... which is what rationalization is all about.

Today is National Rationalization Day. It is observed annually on February 23 in the name of fun and lightening up.

Whereas the stress of those expectations others may attempt to place upon you has officially "left the building" in my case. Some of you may need a break from it all. National Rationalization Day is here to provide just that.

Happy National Rationalization Day !

Be Humble Day 2023
Elon Musk

Here's a day that certainly wasn't invented with me in mind ... Be Humble Day.

To be humble is to be not proud. It is without boastfulness. It is a characteristic by which you don't feel or project you're better than other people. Even in the presence of vast achievements we should make all attempts to remain humble.

I personally view Elon Musk as one who typifies the humble yet accomplished human being.

I'm not saying that he is timid or seeking attention or anything else. I just feel that despite his massive repetoire of achievements he remains humble and does not let anything go to his head.

I on the other hand have largely remained silent about my skills during my career. Now that I am retired I like to make a few items of historical information known regarding who knew what and JUST WHO continually walked on whom during their careers.

It's not braggadocio. Just fact. However, humble I am not.

So we observe Be Humble Day annually on February 22 to stress that value which is to be had from humility. I know many people who have attained great works and never bring them to the attention of anyone they encounter.

While my accomplishments are merely subsets in the area of subject matter expertise there is no need to tell all the tales I know. Telling everything you know remains a mistake if you seek humility.

So aside from this place — which is mine — I remain largely silent. That pride I have felt in the past is left in the past where it belongs. All that pissed off with the college scene idiots still remains with me, however.

May your humbleness shine like a beacon before your peers.

Card Reading Day 2023
    heartish
Today is Card Reading Day, a vehicle initiated by the various Stationery and eCard companies to promote both giving and receiving cards. It is observed each February 21st.

The sentimentality of it all is not lost on me. There was a time when I was a prolific giver of cards. These days I get more of them than I give. It's quite the connundrum which gives me pause occasionally when I think of the thoughtfulness of others compared with how I perceive my own.

Occasionally you can find me in those stands of cards trying to find something appropriate for someone special. I have even been known to visit the occasional card shop.

Each Christmas I buy about 50 or so seasonal cards via ecommerce and this activity has been satisfactory by and large.

I am particularly fond of blank cards whereby I write my own greeting.

Other times I nab something that catches my eye by design or some clever quip. I am a sucker for those new fangled cards with the LED lights and sound mechanisms which lend a high tech approach to greeting cards.

Whatever your spin on card buying and getting I hope you'll make someone feel special by giving them a card sometime soon.

Happy Card Reading Day to you !

National Cherry Pie Day 2023
Slice of Cherry Pie

I have been known to devour various pies over the years. I am partial to REAL egg custard but also enjoy a wide variety of fruit pies ... like the cherry pie.

I enjoy everything from the crust to the filling and of course the whipped cream if it is present. I come from a line of those who could and did bake mouth watering pastries over the years.

Today is National Cherry Pie Day. It falls on February 20. There are stories which link it to George Washington and the biographer's myth of his cutting down his father’s cherry tree.

I am not alone in my enjoyment of the cherry pie. It is a popular pie filling in our nation and is traditionally made with tart cherries instead of sweet cherries.

The variety of cherry doesn't matter so much to me as much as the character of the filling — which I regard closely ... and the quality of ice cream or whipped cream which accompanies it.

Cherry pies are the stuff of folklore as evidenced by the song Billy Boy — which was a memory from my childhood that I hummed many times back then and has many lyrics. One of those lyrics feature the cherry pie:

Billy Boy

...

Can she bake a cherry pie, Billy Boy, Billy Boy?
Can she bake a cherry pie, Charming Billy?
She can bake a cherry pie, quick as a cat can wink her eye
But she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother

World Whale Day 2023
I've seen a few whales over the years. Some were at sea while on cruises in the Navy. Others were on the Pacific Coast around Catalina island. I was always dumbfounded by the majesty of these giant marine mammals and I have always wanted them to be protected.

My childhood was dotted with artwork inspired by these creatures and I'm afraid some of those efforts failed the test of realism. This is why I abhor the thieving killers of marine mammals from Japan, Norway, and Iceland and their selfish spin on taking what is not theirs.

Blue Whale

Today is World Whale Day. It is observed on the third Sunday in February annually. That would make it February 19 this year. The is a vehicle for the appreciation of marine mammals and their relationship to the ecology of the biosphere.

World Whale Day began in Maui, Hawaii by Greg Kauffman in 1980.

Nikki Haley Announced POTUS Candidacy 2024
    Nikki Haley
Nikki Haley Announced POTUS Candidacy 2024 On Tuesday former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley announced her candidacy for President of the United States. Yeah Yeah Yeah. I like Nikki Haley and with a few exceptions I felt that she did a pretty good job as Governor of the State over all.

However, I feel she should wait a bit before trying to nab C-in-C for India like the Asian Indians are all buzzing about.

Good sense is one thing but business sense and international politics go far beyond that lameness called the United Nations in all their wish to take over the world and rule us from Brussels like we were their bitches as they impose Agenda 2030 and their death zones upon us in our own country.

State legislatures, governorships, and UN Ambassador appointments do not a President of the United States make.

As it turns out Trump still has my vote if he makes it to the ballot. If it's Desantis I'll vote for him. If it's Haley I won't be voting at all in protest.

IMHO Trump is the best candidate and Haley simply is not ready to kick ass at an appropriate nationalist level. We need to bring back that level of respectability that our enemies will recognize. We need to Make America Great Again.

Sorry, but I don't think Haley is up to the job. Furthermore, if she turns out to be the gd globalist that moron Klaus Schwab claims her to be she needs to be deported as an enemy of the state.

The years of the woke democratic party fools running things into the ground need to end now.

However, globalism not withstanding I will concede that there are far worse candidates than Nikki Haley out there.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Holy Bible King James Version

To everything there is a season. 2024 is simply not Haley's season to be POTUS. We have way too much mess and damages from executive branch over indulgence and monetizing of public office to overcome as the result of the criminal Biden Harris Administration.

My Way Day 2023
MGTOW Logo
Here's another of the more controversial patented synthetic holidays in the calendar.

Today is My Way Day, the property of one Thomas Roy who has a number of these copyrighted monstrosities under his belt.

The premise is that you take the day to play by your own rules without any fear of repercussion or chastisement — call your own shots as it were.

Now me, I subscribe to the fairly recent movement called MEN GOING THEIR OWN WAY (MGTOW) and I equate this to "My Way Day" ... only I observe it every day and not just on February 17.

Regardless of your orientation to My Way Day I hope you'll assert your authority over your own life and go for it as you see fit.

Pink or green haired wimpy, sniveling snowflakes, transmen fakers, and other metoo yes men as well as other permutations of weak woke culture need not apply.

Remembering a Stunning Performance
    Tom Ball
I was watching Britains Got Talent clips on various social media when I had the opportunity to view the audition and subsequent performances of Tom Ball.

He is a 23 years old secondary school teacher and a singer who placed third during the series 15 of the show.

I thought his performance to be pretty stunning given his friendly demeanor and smiling face — the picture of youth with family members in the audience at his audition.

Tom Ball performed Writing’s On The Wall by the attention whore Sam Smith which was itself from the Bond Movie Spectre.

His dynamic range was stupendous. I wasn't the only one taken with his singing. The judges were impressed as well.

He was just a humble, likeable young man with a powerhouse presentation which took me back to that place in time around nine years old when I too imagined I might become a singer.

I thought he did far better than the two who beat him out in the public vote.

I have also noticed that his appearance has changed of late and that a lot of styling has gone into that new coiff with a rather 'tougher' yet smoothed out appearance all done up in leather garb.

Further personal changes include his relationship status after a recent wedding ceremony.

I see a lot of great things coming for this very talented young fellow who has gone back to teaching in the secondary schools of West Sussex from which he hails.

World Hippo Day 2023
hippopotamus
The hippopotamus is quite a formidable animal. They are semiaquatic relatives of whales, dolphins, and porpoises.

Their porcine appearance can be somewhat misleading. They are native to rivers, lakes, and mangrove swamps.

They give a disarming appearance of retreating peaceful gentleness.

I have witnessed them in attack mode.

The adults have large chisel shaped teeth which are feet long. It is my humble opinion that if they want you over some offense that you will be had one way or another.

Their sanitary habits are a bit distressing. They like to swish their tails and spread feces in their water habitat and I imagine it is healthy for the biosphere in general and nourishing to plants in particular.

Suffice it to say I'm glad I do not interact with them on a regular basis.

Today is World Hippo Day. Each February 15th we observe the hippopotamus in all it's glory and encourages people to conserve them as a species.

Personally, given their propensity for fierce attacking behavior I'd just as soon not get a hippopotamus for Christmas if you don't mind.
