National Rapture Party Day 2022
Harold Camping
From the false prophet file we have National Rapture Party Day.

Would be "biblical scholars" who really appear to know little to nothing about the Bible such as the erroneous scripture interpretation of the late Harold Camping are the source of the so-called "rapture theory" which contends that Christ will meet his adherents in the air causing a disappearance of the Christian Church instead of coming to Earth setting foot on Mount Zion, which is what scripture states.

The word "rapture" does not appear in the scriptures anywhere.

The "clouds" from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 often misconstrued as a veiled reference to the rapture by proponents actually refers to multitudes of people in the original translations.

Rev Camping promoted a specific date of May 21, 2011 as the date the so-called "rapture" was to go down.

Given the fact that the entire notion of "the rapture" is NOT biblical, Rev Camping of course had to make excuses for the fact that his prediction was in error.

The presence of "rapture parties" and "end around the globe parties" are a residual of these predictions from Rev Camping who passed December 15, 2013.

So much for forecasts predicting the end of the world allegedly via Christian theology.

The Rapture is not Christian Theology but the idiotic rantings of a fake visionary named Margaret MacDonald which were picked up by ersatz ministers who viewed this as their gravy train from the offering plate.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

4:13  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
4:14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
4:15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
4:18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Draw Mohammed Day 2022
The Prophet Mohammed
I'm not real big on extremism these days.

Nor do I believe in a religious right to kill others as is the propensity for radical muslim traditions anymore

So this is Draw Mohammed Day.

It is an an event which arose from the 2010 threatening of artists who have drawn representations of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

The thrust of the observance is that support of freedom of expression and is a direct result of the South Park show.

They received death threats in the melee of muslims and their sharia insanity run amok over a cartoon show which stated it would publish a picture of the prophet Mohammed.

It was stated that if everybody drew Mohammed then the muslims would be unable to murder everybody who did so.

I'm game.

However the observance has attracted little in the way of public support.

In memory of the Charlie Hebdo journalists who were murdered on January 7, 2015 at the French satire magazine by muslim lunatics I submit my sketch of the Prophet Mohammed.

My submission is meant to be respectful and when the muslims come to kill me I hope that some righteous baptist warrior will avenge my death.

Cookie Acceptance Dialogs
my favorite cookie
I keep wondering what value the use of all the ubiquitous cookie dialogs are in the presence of cookie countermeasures which ensure no cookies remain after the session ends.

The European Union and their General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 2018 is a privacy and security treastise for anyone providing goods and services in the EU.

The lack of physical boundaries on the internet apparently forces everyone around the world to comply and users participate in the regulations regardless of geolocation because all too many on the internet MUST be sniveling money grubbing human beings and IP geolocation simply does not work by and large.

I go to a lot of trouble to eradicate cookies on my workstation because there is no site that I deem so essential that I need to maintain their storage on my workstation. So I simply respond in the affirmative then allow the cookie to be blown away shortly after the session ends.

It makes me think that site operators are basically ignorant of the backend technology.

If the EU decided to jump off a cliff all too many web site operators of the world would follow close behind them. I don't set cookies pursuant to my site web presence because I view it as unnecessary in the presence of adequate contact form scripting.

Sometimes I feel that the internet consists of a bunch of knee jerk lemmings out to play follow the leader to their own demise.

Exploits, Blocks, and the Innocent
Network Nodeage

I've had yet ANOTHER recent spate of complaints regarding the blog and those who have become firewalled.

Funny how the dotcom and dotnet sites though behind the SAME firewall are never whined about.

It seems that some feel that I should just firewall the individual offending IPs and not the entire subnet containing it. Nice try.

I decline to allow your subnet to access my assets in the presence of threats from your network or subnet thereof. Case closed.

I used to be more open to granular firewall rules but dullards like those at MIT, the Netherlands, of course Russia — and the eastern bloc in particular — who mistakenly think they can outdo me on my own network have convinced me that the practice is weakness.

I pride myself on the preemptive strike. I'll take out traffic that hits my machine with any suspicious activity without giving it a second thought. It makes for a lack of popularity in the ether.

So if you can't get to the stuff yet feel you've never attempted an exploit I'm sorry. Police your subnet better if you feel privileged ...

I'm fresh out of apologies for my security policies.

International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia 2022
International Day Against Homophobia Transphobia and Biphobia
In this miserable gloaming which has become the idiotic nature of democrat fool rule one thing becomes obvious.

Stupid people in control make for stupidity of reality and that's precisely what we have going on in The Republic presently.

The continuing misuse of the suffix 'phobia' in the presence of w☠ke acceptance is likely to cause intermittent pain and suffering.

A 'phobic' individual won't cut your guts out because they view you as a sexual deviant and/or pervert. There is a difference between "fear" and "intolerance".

Learn to speak proper English w☠ke assholes.

The day is coming when these teachers and schools allowing deviants to address students presenting their lifestyles as mainstream will be made to pay when they can no longer find work.

PC that preferred pronoun bitches.  ☠

American Craft Beer Week 2022
microbrewery
My experience with microbreweries has been quite a bit more than I ever cared to indulge.

It seems that I would go to places like the now locally defunct Tomato Rumba's Pastaria Grill back in the old Harbison area tromping days and they wanted to show off their microbrewery — then really acted as though my lack of interest were a character flaw or something.

Luckily my meals there ended when I departed the local college instructor circuit and unfortunately, the restaurant ended up closing down ...

With all that microbrewery equipment left over for liquidation. Must have been all of the campy television commercials in the absence of an actual large customer base.

Today is American Craft Beer Week. It runs from May 16 through the 22nd and celebrates craft beer and those people and places that make it. The notion of craft beer, carboys, and alcohol in general is not something I actively pursue.

I think I may be the only one in South Carolina who doesn't like and follow it all. I know several people who are deep in the craft beer phenomenon in the state. It seems as though it kind of exploded in recent history.

Bring Flowers to Someone Day 2022
    tulip dozens
I was once a great giver of flowers.

Sometimes I was left feeling my efforts were a good idea. Other times I didn't feel so good about the act afterwards. Regardless, it was just me and the way I did things and how I considered others.

I don't know, I once thought it was important to show others my interest in plants as well as my thoughts of beauty as they appertained to them.

Nowadays I don't do much in the way of giving flowers anymore.

Today is Bring Flowers to Someone Day.

It's a day to make a memory, share your sense of beauty, perhaps just show someone you care.

I hope you can take a moment to indulge if you are so inclined.

I know I wish I had done more of it than I've done thus far over my lifetime.

Jamestown Day 2022
Jamestown Fort
When I was a child I attended school in Virginia Beach, Virginia for several years. I attended the second through fourth grades.

During my time at Aragona Elementary School in Aragona Village we visited the Jamestown settlement and colonial Williamsburg with a stop at the Yorktown battle grounds on a class excursion.

It made for a very interesting day and I was exhausted and happy upon my return. Unfortunately, the black and white photography of the day didn't do the costumes, furniture, and architecture much in the way of fidelity. This stuck with me over the years and has affected those art objects I include in the blog.

Jamestown Island is a historic site which also sports a single private residence. There are actors there portraying the colonists in period costumes performing period tasks like gardening, blacksmithing, canning foods, operating a smokehouse, barrel making, military duties, among all the other requirements of the era.

The settlement was founded in 1607. The present day iteration is an impressive museum of 17th century Virginia history and culture.

My memories have assured a return visit should the opportunity ever arise.

Children of Fallen Patriots Day 2022

I typically pride myself in my level of stoicism. I can typically rein in my emotions and keep from devolving into a blithering idiot until I find myself alone in most instances.

The first time I saw this photograph all bets were off. There are a couple of shots in the series from two perspectives ...

child accepting flag at fathers funeral

I think I've boo-hooed over this scene more times than I can count. Typically on memorial days or considering my late biological and step fathers. It instills a sadness that permeates the entirety of my being.

It is a photograph of a child next to his mother accepting the flag which draped the casket of his military father, obviously fallen.

That I could reach out and comfort this child would have made the scene less traumatic for me personally. This type of situation exposes one of the few soft spots in me as far as I know.

May 13th is Children of Fallen Patriots Day.

The vast numbers of children who have lost parents to military conflict is at once both tragic and infuriating.

Children of Fallen Patriots Day exists to honor these children and raise awareness of the sacrifices and struggles they have and do endure in the wake of their parents death.

These children had no choice in the matter for which they suffer a tremendous loss — and my heart goes out to them.

National Nutty Fudge Day 2022
    nutty fudge

This one is personally problematic. I am a self avowed chocoholic. I like chocolate to the point that it is detrimental to my health. I just at a number of pieces of chocolate candy and now suffer quite the frontal scalp acne break out.

Each May 12 we have National Nutty Fudge Day. It contains both chocolate and nuts, one of my most favorite combinations.

The varieties and flavors of fudge are many and varied with chocolate being the most popular by far. Hence, I am not alone in my desire to consume the deliciousness of chocolate and fudge. Of course, the tastes are pretty irresistable for me personally.

Walnuts and pecans in chocolate fudge drive me bonkers. Home made fudge will place you on my A list pretty much without exception.

So whether you like chocolate fudge or some other flavor I hope that National Nutty Fudge Day finds you tempted to a fairthewell.

World Ego Awareness Day 2022
ego id superego
Ego is that part of the mind that mediates between consciousness and the unconscious.

It is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity.

I equate it to self.

May 11th brings us World Ego Awareness Day.

The day is meant to increase awareness of the issue of ego and how it impacts everthing in our sphere of existence.

The awareness of ego involves a movement which began around 2018.

The aim I maintain is to balance the effects of ego such that there are fewer conflicts, a sense of empathy, and enhancement of interpersonal relationships and communication. World Ego Awareness Day is a day whereby people may raise awareness by the outlets of their choosing.

Sharing ideas and information is the place to begin.

Confederate Memorial Day 2022
Confederate Flag

Today is Confederate Memorial Day in South Carolina. Confederate Memorial Day is held in memory of those who fought and died in the American Civil War as part of the Confederacy.

South Carolina is among three states — including Alabama and Mississippi — that observe it with a legal holiday, though the dates vary.

While too many are permitted to seize the symbology as an emblem of hate; those who are attuned to the history of the South know better. While the mouthy ignorant few rant about the holiday we who have family who fought and died in the war between the states remember ...

Personally, I have family who fought on both sides of that civil war we memorialize on this day. I will not be dissuaded from honoring our war dead regardless of how unpopular the notion may become.

The stupid woke libtard history revisionists simply cannot control my thoughts at any level.

National Lost Sock Memorial Day 2022
    lost sock
I used to wear socks that were over the top.

Sometime around my graduation from high school I was out to prove so much that the socks became one of those items influenced by the times.

Yeah, these days I lose a sock now and then.

It once was problematic when my socks were these fashion statements.

Nowadays I have a drawer full of plain white ankle socks and it's easy to find a match for most anymore.

Today is National Lost Sock Memorial Day.

It is observed each year on May 9 and makes note of all the socks that are no longer in our possession.

No forensics are really required unless you are one of these who purchase items excessively priced.

In reality, sometimes a lost sock is a blessing.

It leaves an opportunity for alternative use of the remaining sock.

Losing one sock from a matched pair happens all over and I personally think the dryer sometimes simply eats them.
