Back when I was pursuing a career in medicine I had too much contact with breasts.
Female breasts, male breasts — they all have the possibility for developing breast cancer and I am a fairly empathic type who was able to sense the somatic, psychological, and emotional pain of those others who either knew or did not know the full extent of their condition.
I also witnessed way too many drugged up end stage palliative treatments in the course of my training and though I maintained professional detachment in the end and particularly in restrospect it was all very sad indeed.
I suppose the alternatives to what I witnessed were even more tragic.
Today is Breast Health Day.
The observance originated in Italy and is now an international event to promote action toward maintenance of breast health and specifically prevention of breast cancer so that it might not go metastatic and spread thoroughout a sufferers body.
So whereas normally I might poke fun at the concept of breasts inasmuch as they are usually one of my most favorite parts of the female anatomy this topic forces me to draw into my sense of sympathy and comportment whereby I just let it all go.
The seriousness of the topic forces me to allay those would be attempts at humor because I've seen the devastation of breast disease on both sides of gender and it's simply not funny.

So we have another one of those days where the homos of the sexual want to come out and frolic and celebrate what they perceive as acceptance of their deviance in the world.
Today is National Coming Out Day. In theory it is an annual LGBTQ awareness day observed each October 11 to mark the tragedy of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender sickos who feel the need to display their shame by "coming out of the closet".
Whether you're a carpet muncher, or a fudge packer, or one of those pervs who swing both ways or stuck in some woke definition that doesn't wash in science and logic like transgender, non-binary, queer, or whatever ... this day is for you to avoid the slings and arrows and yes — the possible shotgun shell here and there in the name of who you think you are.
I'd like to take this moment to point out that intersex persons with chromosomal mosaic configurations are within that broad spectrum called "normal" and therefore do not qualify for the perversion of the queer flag or their allies.

Could I REALLY be a gay basher ? Perhaps. I have not yet gone there though. It's quite a bit dark for me.
This day has been a national tragedy since 1988 when the fags had a march on Washington pursuant to their alleged "rights" to be the nasty human beings that they are.
Coming out as LGBTQ+ may still matter to you and I just hope you get yours when they get theirs.
Some of us are decidedly against perversion in society and we don't care what Christiane Amanpour's woke ass has to say about it. She can cart her ideas back to Iran and see what her opinion gets her ... a date with a noose attached to the hook of a construction crane most likely.
This means you.

Over the years I've known a few 'roadies'. These people are employed by musicians on tour to set up and maintain equipment. The phrase they used in my presence to refer to their skillset was "roadie stuff". By and large it was a scruffy longhaired drug doing but essential bunch who accompanied musical groups to various venues for performances.

I've also had interactions with a few stage managers as well. I remember in Mr Yehuda Guttman and his wife Ruth and the Red Barn Theater when I lived at Key West. My childhood friend Chris who shared my budding theatrical interests would accompany me there at every opportunity.
They were a lively bunch and engaged in spirited discussions of their craft. Mr Guttman was a piano virtuoso and puppeteer who produced various plays and such. Mrs Guttman was a puppeteer and stage manager. It was a sublime time to be in their company. I always left their presence smiling and feeling more well informed that I was before. I went to school with their two sons Darren and Evan — who like them are sadly no longer with us.
Yehuda and Ruth worked with me on voice projection, which refers to having strength of speaking or singing which enables the human voice to be used with power and clarity. The technique is utilized to affect commanding respect and attention in the appropriate venue, be it classroom or stage production. It seems they found my ability to project to be somewhat lacking but were kind in their instructions and advice and always very encouraging.
And this is International Stage Management Day marking the work that stage managers do behind the scenes.
Each October 10 I am drawn back to those days when I aspired to be a thespian and though long gone not forgotten and wistfully remembered as what "might have been".
So the stage and stage hands did their things and the stage managers coordinated efforts and the set builders and the gaffer and grips went about the business of making for a successful production with all the rehearsal schedules and rigamarole which went in between.
So I miss those days as well but they are so far removed from my now that I can only remember and wonder regarding those past possibilities.
Like Chris Gagnon, the Guttman family are relegated to that space between my ears known as my memory. They left their mark upon the person I ultimately became and I am glad I had that opportunity to mingle and share.

Nice. It means pleasant, agreeable, satisfactory, fine, or subtle. Mother Teresa was nice.
It's not exactly something for which I ever became known.
October 5th is National Do Something Nice Day.
The day is observed in the hopes that people will do something nice for others.
In that busy hubub which is the workaday world we get all preoccupied with things personal or career oriented and we aren't always as nice as we might be otherwise.
I'm afraid that since I've retired my base notions and comportment have not changed, i.e., I try to be socially aware and reasonable — but by no means have I ever intended to project "nice" at anyone.
I do get told that I do nice things periodically. I just don't pursue it as a career.
This day is meant for you to share a little bit of kindness with the people you encounter.
Doing nice things can lead to even more nice things among all of us.
Happy National Do Something Nice Day.
