4/20 The Head's Holiday 2022

Back in the day there were individuals which went by the apellation "head".

This was a rather loose reference to the fact that they did drugs, i.e., "drug head" perhaps, but the word was in widespread use back in my drug culture heyday.

April 20 brings us 4/20. AKA 420, it is a celebration of the widely illegal drug marijuana.

While various other states have chosen to decriminalize cannabis the legislative persons in South Carolina are not a part of that wave. Therefore, if you get caught with cannabis here in the absence of some accompanying medical instrument you're in some level of legal trouble.

Regardless, on April 20 thousands celebrate the "weed with roots in Hell" for various reasons ...

While I was a proponent from around age 17 these days find me totally recreational drug free for upwards of 30+ years now.
 

Why? I guess it simply lost the allure in my need to work in the presence of random drug testing. You know, that recurrent need to eat and live indoors. I simply could not allow it to be an impediment to gainful employment.

Be all of this as it may, those 420 enthusiasts are marking this day which originated in a West coast high school ritual.

All I'm saying is if you're so inclined, twist up a hog leg and go for it. Just like I have done so many times in the past prior to deciding it was incompatible with my lifestyle.

As for me, I will remain on the wagon as a matter of personal preference, but I don't knock others for their own indulgences either.

If it's you, happy 4/20. Yes, I once was a head. That was then and this is now.
