Walmart Market Panhandlers and Me
Walmart Neighborhood Market Cayce SC
Well, I was hit by yet another panhandler at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 1355 Knox Abbott Drive in Cayce, SC 29033. (803) 223-0762

I came clean to my mother and she chastised me yet again for allowing this to happen.

She is irritated with the never ending stream of foreigners who approach shoppers with notes and so forth poor mouthing as if I weren't there in an attempt to save money.

Last time it was a Scandinavian lady with her preteen son in tow. Today it was a chica chicana wanting baby stuff. The only issue I'm having with all of this is once I paid for her order and we were in front of the store she persisted in attempting to hit me up for cash.

So anyway, this is the Biden Administration's legacy that we might support the indigent of the world.

I hope your day went better than mine. This business of trying to be a nice person all the time is vastly over rated.

I'm seriously considering shopping elsewhere or allowing that ogre within to come out in full fury next time ...

Social Justice Sunday 2024
    the so-called Social Justice Warrior

The stupid social justice warrior is a species of human being which will eventually become extinct, having been supplanted by persons with a realistic outlook and orientation to life on the planet.

They are abnormal pollyanna types who think that "they are, so they are entitled" when that cause and effect relationship simply does not exist.

I've seen so many of them get their puny asses beaten on public streets when they go pushing their idiotic philosphies on we who will not tolerate them. It's really become and embarassment for me as a citizen of the United States to see this particular strain of democrat scum get theirs so severely.

Today is Social justice Sunday.

It is held every year on the final Sunday of August by the stupid on the planet.

This notion that you are down trodden simply because you don't get your way is misguided and as fantasy prone as those transexual, homosexual, and of course the drag queen individuals — who should all be lined up and taken out as the stains upon society they are.

If you think me some cruel troglodyte because I detest everything you stand for that's fine.

Just don't make the mistake of getting in my face to voice your opinion or your misguided philsophy and you'll be safe from me and what I would like to do to you. I never feel the need to necessarily act on my opinions unlike SO MANY of you. However, don't count on this to save you if you get too assertive with me in particular. I like and can certainly handle the rough stuff.

Happy Social Justice Sunday. Now die.

National Knife Day 2024
GC knife collection
I appreciate fine cutlery.

This goes back to my youth when it was my very transient ambition to become a knife fighter.

It was an offshoot of my infamous early karateka phase with all it's tantos, sai, and shuriken as well as ko-budo bo, tonfas, and nunchaku.

Alas, Bruce Lee went away and so did my desire.

Nowadays, I have become somewhat less hostile and more acclimatized to the use of knives for other reasons ...

Today is National Knife Day.

It happens each August 24 and represents a celebration of one of man's first tools.

Many of us use knives on a daily basis.

If you are a migrant in Great Britain you use it to cut up the children of the King's subjects and he doesn't do squat about it while the law enforcement there is too preoccupied with what you post on social media in an effort to entrap you in the name of some woke nonsense to do their duty.

We don't really know about the origins of National Knife Day.

So get out there and cut something ... like a murderous uncouth brigand muslim's immigrant head off.

Find Your Inner Nerd Day 2024
    Nerdimus Maximus
While I don't readily associate myself with the word "nerd" plenty of others do.

I think the moniker is somewhat of a misnomer given the massive subject matter expertise forced upon me by the powers that be and all those lesser entities with whom they forced upon me during that time frame.

Technical certifications have certainly proven to be less than adequate preparation for anything besides fleecing the public.

The fete is held each August 23rd, which is also my sister's birthday under the auspices of one Beth Z, who claims to be everyone's Nerdy Best Friend.

Be all of this as it may, those technical pursuits are about the only thing keeping me sane these days since retirement and I have not really meshed too well.

So get out there and find your inner nerd, if you think you have one.

I'm not entirely sure but plan to at least fake it hookah smoking caterpillar not withstanding ...

Happy Find Your Inner Nerd Day to all the geeks of the world.

I'm okay with it all.

Folklore Day in Brazil 2024
Lynne S McNeill, PhD
The traditional knowledge of a people is known as their 'folklore'. I was not big on folklore until recently, when I encountered Paranormal Caught on Camera and started hearing the words of one Lynne S McNeill as she explained various aspects of this traditional knowledge to me. Nowadays I am pretty much up to speed on what I now consider to be important information even though it was of much less importance to me previously.

Lynne S McNeill, PhD, is a professor of Folklore at Utah State University. She is an active member of the American Folklore Society, the International Society for Contemporary Legend Research, and the Western States Folklore Society. Her areas of research and publication include legend and belief, folk and fairy tales, the supernatural, and digital culture.
Today is Brazil’s Folklore Day. It is observed each August 22 and is known as "Dia do Folclore" there. It is a celebration of of folk tradition in Brazil and I personally think we could stand for more of that here instead of all the woke crap which substitutes for reality in the United States.

The term folklore was coined by one William John Thoms on August 22, 1846.

I think our history and folklore are much more important than some ridiculous individual claiming to be something beyond their natural law purview and demanding the use of ridiculous inappropriate pronouns they can never own. Regardless, I hope you'll immerse yourself in your own folklore as long as it is real and not some contrived mechanism designed to present something that has never existed.

Bernardo O'Higgins was born in 1778
    Bernardo OHiggins
When I was a kid at George R Fishburne Elementary School on Murray Drive in Hanahan, SC I was given a part in a play in the sixth grade and the 1966-1967 school year. We had costumes and just a few lines so it wasn't too forboding and I played the part of Bernardo O'Higgins, a military hero from Chile in the past.

My get up was replete with the finest medals my teacher could draw. They were fabulous !

I had to say "My name is Bernardo O'Higgins and Chile is my country" and a few other things and the whole thing was over in less than an hour. It seems that he and I had mathematics issues in school and this is why I was chosen to play that part .

So on this day in 1778 Bernardo O'Higgins was born born in Chillán and grew to become a founding father of the country of Chile which he freed from Spanish rule in the Chilean War of Independence.

Born 246 years ago, he was a wealthy landowner of Basque-Spanish and Irish heritage. He was the Supreme Director of Chile from 1817 through 1823. He was Captain General of the Chilean Army and Brigadier of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata as well as General Officer of Gran Colombia and Grand Marshal of Peru.

International Bow Tie Day 2024
bow tie
The bow tie is an accessory worn by many people. I, for one have NEVER worn one — nor do I intend to ever don this symbol of the crook and charletain. I think the addition of a bow tie deters from the general appearance of any outfit relegating you to the appearance of riff raff before your very eyes.

Every crook I've ever known was wearing a bow tie. Entirely too many deep South rednecks sport a senior prom picture with a bow tie. Fashion sense, WHAT fashion sense ?!

Today is International Bow Day. It is observed each August 19 in the dubious honor this misbegotton accessory which unfortunately has influenced fashion for eons. The bow tie has been traced back to Croatia in the 17th century. Heck, they could have kept it to themseles prior to allowing it to become an international tragedy.

Alas, some of my favorite people wear bow ties. The tuxedo is said to be "made" for the bow tie replete with cummerbund. Fugget about it .

However, if you are so inclined you don't need to be taking my lead on the matter. If you like a bow tie by all means wear it. I'm probably the only person on the Earth who will consider you a tactless tasteless dweeb.

Happy International Bow Tie Day to all of the fashion challenged out there.

Serendipity Day 2024
    Serendipity Dress Clementine Cream
Serendipity is the act of making fortunate discoveries by accident.

It is also said of the results of those actual discoveries.

I have been told a couple of times that certain things were serendipitous by co workers while I was on the faculty of the local technical college. However, my personal view is serendipity takes a lot more favorable results than anything that ever happened there for me personally.

Today is Serendipity Day. It is held each August 18 in an effort to have people seek and appreicate the unexpected good things available upon the Earth.

The development of of events by chance is what it's all about. If you don't get out there and mix then they are less likely.

Nothing is wrong with a little unexpected good fortune.

Those intriguing chance discoveries are the stuff of joy and make the world go round. It is said that Horace Walpole, an English author, founded it for the first time in 1754 as the results of reading the Persian novel "The Three Princes of Serendip".

Opportune momentious occasions are there, they just need to be had by some fortunate person. It is said that you cannot pursue these opportunities if you live your life in the "safe zone".

So trust that stranger, get out and mix with your fellows, and live in the moment more and you will enjoy more of that which is serendipity.

Happy Serendipity Day.

Black Cat Appreciation Day 2024
black cat
Some people don't especially care for black cats. Personally, I prefer them.

My two sisters-in-law both had black cats. They probably had various other aspects of existence in common as well but I cannot place anything else at this very late juncture.

My second sister-in-law just lost her black cat companion of many years. His name was Salem and I liked him because he was his own individual. He did not want to come indoors. He had a place on the porch where he would sleep and he pretty much was left to his own devices for the entirety of his life. Through household relocations and such there he was, forging his own path though his existence.

Today is Black Cat Appreciation Day.

It happens each August 17. It is a time to recognize the black cat as a societal force in that their owners typically hold them in high esteem. My first sister-in-law had a black cat for many years as well. Her cat was named Reggin and he too was an individual and could not be confounded or annoyed because he just didn't care to mingle ...

I view many other things far worse than keeping to one's self. He didn't avoid anyone. He just didn't pursue human company. He passed a few years before she did.

So on this day I hope you'll regard the black cat in different ways that suit you. I for one have no companion animals at all for good reason. However, I do appreciate the black cat due to the various interactions I've had with them over the past years.

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day.

National Tell a Joke Day 2024
    Gabriel Iglesias
August 16 is National Tell A Joke Day. Good jokes are the proper combination of content, references, timing, and audience. They tell me I used to be quite funny all the time. I don't recall telling many jokes in the past 30 years.

The day is actually much more. It is a time for Jokes, pickup lines, memes, gags, and puns. I used to be quite the fan but I'm afraid that life has left little funny in my midst. I blame it all on the stupid democrats out to ruin the nation.

Calling Girls Fluffy

I started riding the whole "fluffy" train, and it's a cute word and socially a lot more acceptable than someone saying is fat or obese. If you call a girl fat, yo, she'll raise hell, but if you say, "Aw girl, look at you, you're fluffy," there's almost a sexy appeal to it.

Gabriel Iglesias

When I was young I was open and amused at the world in general. Then I discovered the democrats and lost my amusement with the world. So, while I used to be quite the sour tight ass. Anymore I try to lighten up frequently ...

It could go better too.

Perhaps if we implement death squads and FINALLY hold the democrats accountable for their general lack of character and morbid willful destruction of The Republic via a never ending stream of stupidity I may regain my sense of humor.

National Relaxation Day 2024
kid floating

I'm all for relaxation. It is that cause for a pause that makes us inventory our attitudes towards various things and perhaps implement change or have that realization that our attitudes remain fine as they are.

I find my attitudes to be fairly chill in these, my latter days. I attribute it all mostly to "been there, done that". It's hard to reach my stage of life without seeing and doing about all you will in a lifetime.

Today is National Relaxation Day.

The day is the brainchild of one Sean Moeller who conceived of the day back in 1985 when he was but a child of nine himself. It's a good day to kick back and discard all those daily activities that might fill your day otherwise. The day is a vehicle for the promotion of various relaxation techniques such as meditation. It is a day to place your head in another place, hopefully one devoid of duty and responsibility.

So kick back, relax, and enjoy National Relaxation Day.

National Financial Awareness Day 2024
    US One Dollar Bill
National Financial Awareness Day finds us in trouble. The evil democrats want to implement the globalist Central Bank Digitial Currency so that they may track our purchases and turn our access on and off at will. They want to be your fiscal masters and make you their troglodyte slaves.

This is more than just subject to abuse. It's screaming aloud that it will happen. Just think of the possibilities for capricious misuse of such government controlled fundage. I don't trust the democrats. You shouldn't either. This totally unamerican approach is typical of the scum which comprises the democrats by and large. The Harris clones, the Bookers, the Durbins, the Pelosis, the Schumers, the Biden criminal family, the squad, the Clyburns, the Warrens, the Newsoms, The Buttigiegs, the socialist Sanders, the overbearing Whitmers, all the other subversive elements in the Republic should be stricken from the record with extreme prejudice.

The day is meant to provide the impetus for people to avoid bad financial decisions ... like the globalist Central Bank Digitial Currency while all the while the democrats continue to attempt to force it upon us. Luckily the imbecile Joe Biden is out and the equally idiotic Kamala Harris is in. So much for good decisions, eh voters?

Be all of this as it may I hope you will take charge of your finances before the democrats have the opportunity to take charge of yours for you.

Happy National Financial Awareness Day. Thwart the democrat scum in their efforts to turn the nation into some overbearing communist shithole like China. DOWN with Central Bank Digital Currency AND the criminal democrats.
No wonder the Chinese are all unhappy living in China.

Womens and Family Day 2024
Tunisan family
Today we have an observance which originates and is observed primarily in Tunisia.

I was in Sousse, Tunisia around 1977 and the place is hot, dry, and dusty until you get to the resort areas where it suddenly transforms into a pleasant change of pace with cool offshore breezes and a multitude of friendly scantily dressed European women hanging out all over the place ...

We ended up camping out ashore when the water surrounding the ship became too rough to take a whaleboat to moor alongside.

I have to say that after a few minutes initial trepidation there really a lot to be said for sleeping on a dusty carpet in a grand ballroom. I have to say it wasn't all that bad in retrospect. At least I slept like a log.

Today is Women’s and Family Day. The Tunisians hold it each August 13 and is a celebration of women's rights though their adoption of the Code of Personal Status.

This code was adopted January 1, 1957 and has had several ammendments since then.

I see it as a day we can celebrate here as well. Women and family are something that I hold as both important and dear to my heart.

This gender equality stuff is overrated however when you present your case as stupidly as do the feminists of the United States. Take your crayola primary red, blue, and green hair color and go choke yourselves with your pussy hats stupid American feminist women.

Be all of this as it may I hope you have a good day and celebrate this notion of women and family as often and as well as you can.

Happy Women’s and Family Day.
