- National Bird Feeding Month 2018
-
I have always been a proponent of the birds. I feel that they should be fed and provided water for that environment they provide in return.
Unfortunately, I have a large indigenous squirrel population which competes for those resources I set out for the birds. These bushy tailed tree rats pretty much tore my bird feeding regimen out the frame and instilled a dislike for the little gray rodents that won't quit.
February is National Bird-Feeding Month in the United States. Exists for the education and edification of public individuals as to the environmental benefits of wild bird feeding and watching as a hobby.
Since the incept of National Bird-Feeding Month, February has become the month most associated with the feeding of wild birds and those promotions and activities included in those endeavors ... even if their web page is defunct.

- The State of the Union Address 2018
-
Mr Trump gave a long detailed address which was complete and about his agenda which is improving the state of the union far beyond any crook obama, monitizing crook clinton, traitor bushes, etc for as long as I care to remember.
The democrats could do nothing but sit and scowl as he reviewed those accomplishments made thus far and spoke of the better future for us all.
The democrats are really a bunch of bad sports and poor losers exhibiting that character which will not see them through a lot coming down the pipe.
The people are starting to see the democratic party for that which those who comprise it's ranks are in reality:
anti Jobs
I am so glad that mrs clinton and mr obama are not the CinC of the USA.
anti Economic growth
anti Tax cuts
anti Defeating ISIS
anti Anthem and Flag
anti Healthcare choice
anti Veterans benefits
anti Governmental accountability
anti Unifying America
anti Americans dreams
anti In God we trust
anti Life saving medicine
anti Curbing crime
anti Low unemployment rates
anti War on Drugs
liars
thieves

- Keylogging detected on 2,000 WordPress Sites
-
The first version of this blog was a wordpress creation and I utilized numerous plugins and widgets to the point that I was happy and satisfied with both what I had done and how it looked on the web.
Being a chronic log reader, I would notice the various attempts at SQL injection and php scripting exploits — some of which were amusing and others simply annoying with their amateurish approaches and primitive control structures.
It was about that time when I began researching the exploits associated with wordpress sites in general and I felt that the community add ons were the root of the evil associated with hackability regarding that environment.
Later I realized that a big chunk of the problem was php itself. After all, if I can craft a sophisticated script in a half hour to toss you out permanently based on a number of triggers just how easy would it be for someone else to either gain access or assume control of MY site ?!
Nowadays I utilize only enterprise level implementations with web, content, and database servers which aren't nearly so commonplace as mysql or mssql, redhat or windoze — and the access portals are embedded within a number of encapsulating constructs of my own design to the point that I'm satisfied that I'm staying on top of the little hacker dudes out there to get me just because their little dumb asses think they can.
Suffice it to say that the road less traveled has made quite a bit of difference in the evolution of my web node to say the very least.

- The Retrospect of Age
-
That retrospect which comes with advancing age has been upon me for quite a while now.
Things which were lesser priorities now assume paramount status in my life ... other things that I though to be the meaning of the universe have degraded to nothingness on the scale of personal import.
Those things that others feel "should wait" (as being trivial) may or may not be a trigger for me in my pursuit of social justice ... which by the way does not suffer from a single shred of true sjw connotation in all that stupid mendacity.
That true social justice I pursue is a purely personal one.
Allowing those who matter to know that they matter and tending to them without those delays to which others might be relegated with their requirements.
When the equipment is down there are people who get service called ASAP and there is no dilly dally nor delay taking care of that business — even if they view it as a "minor" inconvenience.
In that big scheme of things it is the importance is the person, not the trivial function they may be missing.
If something doesn't work and you are sufficient in my list of others there is nothing which can keep me from taking care of whatever doesn't work immediately.

- Johnny Pruett in Memoriam
-
We've missed you Johnny over what has become the years since you departed. There was little to say when the verdict was in and that ending was both abrupt and heart wrenching as we stood by helpless to do anything.
There are consequences when you are forced to go to a hospital run by students and an ambulance misrepresents the facts to get you there.
Johnny Henderson Pruett
May 5, 1933 - January 27, 2016
Regardless of their railroading and incompetence and taking advantage of those in need ... which we never took to task, we'll never forget you.

- US Workers, Automation, and Me
-
The MIT Technology Review reports that some 94% of all US workers don't believe they will lose their jobs to advances in automation.
Now me, I welcome the automation advances because I will likely be one of those coders in the mix at the at level of consumer impact ... meaning, yeah, I can do robotics and have a reasonable facility with AI as it existed a few years back.
In the venue I find myself working presently there is a distinct need for those who can wrangle technology because the bulk of those in that environment have slim to no clue at all.
This is not braggadocio, but I don't see a lot of issues with a workforce that can't handle the ownership of those assets they utilize in their daily work and I don't see the stakeholders grasping the reality of technology to the point that they will assume those duties in my lifetime.
Therefore, I personally feel "somewhat" safe in the workforce being multisystem conversant and pretty handy with a backplane and handful of interfaces, processors, and memory.
For me, the commodity is a combination of technology and those who must use those things to accomplish that work which comprises the enterprise. That interface between the two is what I do.

- Shunning Social Media
-
I was amazed to see that Nick Cage, whom I've always considered to have little to nothing in common with me is hating on social media.
When I think of all the Netflix titles I've passed over because he was starring in them ...
Perhaps a rethink is in order.
There are social media executives who ponder the damage of social media on the brain of a child.
Apple's Tim Cook won't allow his preteen nephew near social media.
Then there is the question of 'net neutrality' in the mix and that juxtaposed existence on disparate networks resulting in lag or suffering performance just because of with whom you internetwork.
Couple this with the fact that social networking essentially has become that pablum for the uninitiated ... a platform for those who can't do anything else and there you have it.
I don't choose to be in that company.
Those subtle nuances which comprise the psychosocial intellectual muck which is that which makes it to various "feeds" lends credence to the fact that we are actually devolving as a species.
Instead of implementing our own presence we simply accept that which others provide along with the underlying control scripting which may be controlling much more the brain dead articles and pretty pictures and memes upon the screen.

- Remembering Larry Fine
-
Another who figured prominently in my childhood fantasy world of comedy and the absurd was Larry Fine.
Larry Fine
American Comedian and Actor
October 5, 1902 – January 24, 1975
A member of the Three Stooges comedy team he was a large part of my morning entertainment early on and I suffered both those accusations of retardation for emulating him and the continued desire to witness those facets of his work through which I found him interesting.
Born Louis Feinberg, Larry Fine the American actor, comedian, violinist and boxer was the middle stooge, Larry and he was often the victim of the comedy antics while other times the central focus.
He began his career in vaudeville playing the violin. He was easily recognized by his high and wide forehead surrounded by a thick curly pate of red hair.
His personal life was fraught with the pitfalls of financial prudence and cash flow. Regardless of his personal difficulties, he always tried to make himself available to various stooge fans over his waining years.
He suffered a number of strokes at the end of his life to which ultimately succumbed — with Moe following some 4 years later.

- Captain Kangaroo
-
When I was very very young and impressionable in my preschool and early grade school persona there was Captain Kangaroo.
Most mornings I would arise and watch the Captain, Mr Greenjeans, Dancing Bear, Bunny Rabbit, Mr Moose, Granfather Clock, and the rest of the gang engage in various G rated antics for my infantile amusement and I was a fan for as long as I can remember.
The lead role was portrayed by Robert James "Bob" Keeshan and the show ran from 1955 to 1984 and it was one of those shows whose hallmark was suitability for any company in it's very polite presentation of each and everything upon it's venue.
The show consisted of guests who told of things they did in their lives or careers. There were endless skits and bits and of course the never ending barrage of ping pong ball jokes. In the vein of Fred Rogers and other suitable for children programming it was always appropriate, informative, and enjoyable.

- Bradley Manning for Senate
-
Bradley Manning the so-called "Chelsea immoral chick with a dick" Manning has declared as a candidate for the United States Senate in Maryland on the Democratic ticket.
Yes, the army soldier turned traitor pardoned by that other traitor Barack Obama could conceivably win and simply declare another oath as meaningless as that sworn to the army.
It's commercial is really quite the self righteous affair for a traitor as well speaking all high and mightily about how "we don't need them" (meaning the police, I think) and speaking in tones filled with the same level of contempt and disgust I have for it.
Unlike it, however, I love the God, United States, the US Military, law enforcement, guns, freedom of speech, conservatism, the Rule of Law, Judeo-Christian values, the unborn and among other priorities in my existence.
This thing running for congress has no mores and no loyalty. Surely they can keep it and it's traitorous proclivities out of Congress.
I looked into the future and gazed upon the Whore of Babylon, and lo, it's name was Chelsea Manning.

- National Hug Day 2018
-
Today is National Hug Day.
This is an annual observance for hugging and was created by one Kevin Zaborney on January 21, 1986 in Clio, Michigan.
It is now observed internationally so the idea has definitely caught on.
The day promotes the act of hugging in an attempt that it might happen more often.
I certainly could never fault the delivery of an impromptu hug or two as a matter of interpersonal relations.

- Wall of the Fire
-
So I've had to reconsider my open door policy after considerable deliberation.
It seems that all the exploit and hack attempts persist from the same subnets I had previously removed from the firewall rules in an effort to be a more "warm and fuzzy" open kind of netizen to others in the masses.
This notion was highly sophomoric given the fact that the internet scum remains out there and are pretty much operating from the same ISPs on the same subnets and nothing changed at all ... from modus operandi to the infuriating same set of tired unskilled attempts at breach.
Oh well. He who fails to learn from past mistakes is doomed to repeat them.
This is precisely what happened to yours truly as I finished replacing all the firewall rules moments ago.
I'll never make the mistake of trying to be an open netizen again.
I don't even want spider traffic anymore.

- Edgar Allan Poe
-
One of those enduring memories of my childhood surround the literature of Edgar Allan Poe. While he was the subject of numerous lessons in various English classes I took during the 12 years comprising my preeductation ... I found myself immersed in his writings and subjects primarily due to the side inputs afforded to me at home.
Edgar Poe
January 19, 1809 - October 7, 1849
American Author, Poet, Editor, Critic
I had access to numerous books and even multimedia records of his various works performed dramatically and of these I partook because they were made available to me by my mother.
It was fitting that he became a favorite author of mine, both due to my personal interest in the macabre and as the result of those many stimulus inputs in the form of records and books to which I had copious access.
Edgar Allan Poe was an icon of American literature who wrote, edited, and criticized literary works at a time when those pursuits were hardly main stream. He wrote poetry and short stories and many of his works centered around mystery and the macabre ... which was my primary attraction to those works.
He was a central figure in the United States and American Literature being one of the primary developers of the short story as a specific genre. Today is the 209th anniversary of his birth.
