Captain Kangaroo
When I was very very young and impressionable in my preschool and early grade school persona there was Captain Kangaroo.Most mornings I would arise and watch the Captain, Mr Greenjeans, Dancing Bear, Bunny Rabbit, Mr Moose, Granfather Clock, and the rest of the gang engage in various G rated antics for my infantile amusement and I was a fan for as long as I can remember.

The lead role was portrayed by Robert James "Bob" Keeshan and the show ran from 1955 to 1984 and it was one of those shows whose hallmark was suitability for any company in it's very polite presentation of each and everything upon it's venue.
The show consisted of guests who told of things they did in their lives or careers. There were endless skits and bits and of course the never ending barrage of ping pong ball jokes. In the vein of Fred Rogers and other suitable for children programming it was always appropriate, informative, and enjoyable.
