Google Remains a Dastardly Political Dirtbag
    pooped on google
As if they need anything else to make them look bad, a former engineer says Google will try to prevent the Trump reelection in 2020.

This is the absolute pit of unacceptable bad behavior and will utlimately result in their breakup because there are too many of us who absolutely will not put up with their interference without making it an issue at every turn ANYMORE.

This steaming platter of dung continues to raise it's horrid stench in a world which has enough problems already.

They're opening the door for competition in the form of companies who simply don't engage in trying to manipulate the electorate via algorithm.

That stupidity which is the internet user base is not quite as bad as it was because people are starting to realize who meddles and who does not.

Alphabet, Google, and Youtube are on their way out. Take enough profits in the form of fines and all of a sudden you find yourself unable to continue operations.

What do that call that inability to benefit from past mistakes stupid leftist google et al?

The word is STUPID and we have a leg up on you.

Personally, I decline to be your bitch.

Coast Guard Day 2019
CPO Device USCG
I did my military service in the Navy.

I was fine on active duty but really slacked off during my Reserve time.

All-in-all I was more than ready to get out at discharge.

I think this may have disappointed my father, who had an illustrious and stellar career but no sons who chose to follow in his footsteps.

I have a friend at work who is in the Coast Guard doing Reserve time.

She is a Chief Petty Officer, a rank to which I never aspired in the Navy.

She does her Reserve time in Virginia and dutifully travels there each and every time she is scheduled to do so.

While we both do computer work in our civilian lives she works in technology in the military as well.

We rather hit it off and have been compadres in adjacent offices of late.

   Emergen-C Orange
Emergen-C Raspberry
I like her because she treats me as though I am actually a worthwhile human being instead of some automaton from which various things are required during the work day ...

which is not something I've really been used to in the present environment.

We also indulge a spot of EmergenC frequently to stave off the various ills which may strike at us in the office while we mill about with the less health conscious.

Today is Coast Guard Day.

It is held every August 4 in commemoration of the founding of the United States Coast Guard as the Revenue Marine on August 4, 1790 Alexander Hamilton who was Secretary of the Treasury at that time.

It was then that the Congress of the US authorized the building of a fleet of the first ten Revenue Service cutters to enforce the tariff laws enacted by the Congress under the Constitution of the United States.

So Chief ... this is your day. Happy Coast Guard Day to you.

Bubba Smith
    Bubba Smith
Charles Aaron "Bubba" Smith
February 28, 1945 – August 3, 2011
I've never been a football fan.

I haven't ever sat down and watched a game willingly and have only done so in polite deference to those with whom I was visiting on those few occasions I did submit.

When I was in high school Bubba Smith was a biggie among my peers in the pit of the hellhole of the world, Goose Creek High School in Duck Ditch, South Carolina 29445.

He was often a topic of discussion and I dare say over the years I cultivated a respect for the man who crossed boundaries and was generally a great guy in addition to his career as pro footballer.

My particular favorites were a number of commercial spots he did which were witty and worldly and of course the Police Academy franchise simply would not have been the same without him.

It was not known until after his passing that he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a neurological condition generally related to repeated concussion and sub-concussive head trauma such as that he incurred as the result of his ball play.

Here's to a great man who went down hard. Rest in peace.

The Butt Crack of Dawn
The Buttt Crack of Dawn
Early rising.

This is a facet of my existence.

During the work week lately I am milking that alarm clock until the last possible moment when I arise and take my initial regimen of supplements then shower, primp, and get out the door.

"Primp ?"

My gosh, I never viewed myself as much of a primper.

However, my present employment requires a presentation that no other has ever required.

Before this time my standard attire was a tee shirt (with a pocket, of course) with gaberdines and whatever shoes I had laying around.

Since injectig myself into the civil world I too have attempted to present civility and wear dress shirts with ties and more appropriate trousers and shoes.

My aim is for those with whom I work to gather that I take my job seriously and I don't want to be thought of as some slouch.

During the weekends and holidays my schedule automatically adjusts itself to the "off work" state.

I typically arise in the 4 to 6 am range usually on the earlier side of things, make myself a pot of coffee in my five cup drip pot and get on with the business of cleaning up and making things around the house tidy.

This always starts with a 4 hour or so Roomba run and going around and picking up those articles of clothing that sometimes get somewhat scattered.

I take my laundry to Ed Robinson's and pick up the last drop off.

The remainder of the day involves me in putzing around the house in a total lack direction aside from those few item I list on my to do list.

The afternoons likely catch me napping for an hour or two and then I vege out in front of the teevee or indulge a spate of coding if I become inspired — which has been happening more frequently of late.

It seems I like to write those features unavailable in the blog rather than 'do without' as I have in the oldie but baddie php days.

So this enchanted life moves on down the road and I love those forays which start at the butt crack of dawn because I feel that I get a lot done at those times.

World Scout Scarf Day 2019
    Wolf Neckerchief
The Scouts have been ruined by the left. They have taken the organization and slathered in their denial of biology and allowed females into the boy scouts.

By all logic I possess this is a fundamental mistake and condemns that leadership which allowed it to happen.

IMHO nothing good will come of renaming the boy scouts to satisfy some pc libtard moron's successful quest to incite ruination.

Today is World Scout Scarf Day. It is designed "to encourage active and former Scouts worldwide to wear their neckerchiefs in public annually to symbolize the Scout promise and the spirit of Scouting".

The promise of scouting no longer exists. It's been ruined by the leadership of the BSA who were unable to be good stewards of the spirit of scouting.

I will never value nor honor my time in the boy scouts again.

Thank you for ruining scouting you limp wrist subservient no character wussie cretins.

Black Moon Tonight
black moon
Tonight we will have what is known as a 'black moon'. The name of this phenomenon is not really common mainstream astronomy.

The term has been popularized by astrologers, and followers of the Wicca, and of course in the mindless banter of social media.

Black Moons are significant in some pagan religions. There are those who believe certain actions become more potent when performed on the night of the ocurrence of a Black Moon.

I view all of this occult nonsense as drivel and my underlying awakening to the possibilities of paranormal occurrences really hasn't moved that opinion either way.

Black Moon has specific definitions referenced in astronomy:

The third New Moon in an astronomical season with four New Moons or ...

The second New Moon in the same calendar month ...

The term might also refer to every new Moon inasmuch as we see only the lunar dark or black side.

Officially, this particular black Moon will occur at 11:13 p.m. EDT in the western hemisphere and after midnight on August first in the eastern hemisphere.

While this moon thingie is significant in certain circles the reality of those gravitational forces remain and it's really just another albeit darker night for me personally — not to belittle the event or anything.

Paul Anka
    Paul Anka
Today is the birthday of Paul Albert Anka a Canadian-American singer, songwriter and actor of Syrian and Lebanese descent.

He punctuated my life with a lot of AM 'oldies' type stuff when I was a kid.

I recall his duet with Paula and their quasi love songs.

He gained fame with a string of hits "Diana", "Lonely Boy", "Put Your Head on My Shoulder", and "Having My Baby".

There was quite a spate of absence during his career up to a point he would reappear with some song which sold well.
He did pieces for television, advertising, and his work has been covered by big name acts throughout his career.

He was a part of my musical listening for as long as I can remember up until early adulthood.

Paul Anka became a naturalized US citizen in 1990.

The Present State of Neural Implants and Me
The threads have been rife with reports of companies planning to design, manufacture, and implement neural implants.

These are technology payloads attached directly to a biological brain rendering the individual thusly modified a 'cyborg' as it were ...

Neural Implants
Elon Musk even wants to insert bluetooth devices into these implants stating that he believes such provisioning could enable telepathy and repair injuries resulting in motor impairment for various injured individuals.

Personally, I am not too keen on his idea to utilize cell phone control interfacing — because I am not really interested in using smart phones anyway and I utterly detest and have no confidence or trust in google at all.

No droid will ever be attached to me via some brain implant.

Then there are other issues such as the evolution of the technology and just how much 'guinea pig' is someone at this juncture compared to farther down the road.

I likewise would prefer those training wheels were attached to someone else's brain thank you very much.

Then there is hacking. Our failure to prevent hacking at the backbone level of the internet coupled with the dismal fact that most of our consumer electronics are manufactured in China is a compelling argument for avoidance.

I could just see malware developed to overtake implant technologies but cannot fathom what those consequences might entail.

Be all of this as it may; were I predisposed to involving myself in these activities it would have to be something a LOT more trusted tried and true than anything on the horizon.

The very thought of some dirtbag programmer's AI operating something in my head is totally abhorrent. No AI module will ever have my name on it at this juncture and I'm about as 'pro technology' as we get.

Trust is one thing. Stupidity is quite another.

Stupid is too stupid for self realization
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people mistake their cognitive ability as being far greater than it is.

Illusory superiority due to a failure to recognize their lack of ability is exhibited by a preponderance of municipal administrators, educators and IT so-called professionals in my experience. Case in point:

The Stupidity of Canada

A Canadian trans freak is attempting to legally force women to Brazilian wax his scrotum.

    All about sicko freaks
This insanity made possible by the lunatics comprising the British Columbia’s Human Rights Tribunal (CHRC) is attempting adjudication of Jonathan aka Jessica the pervert Yaniv, a self-identified pedophile transgender who wishes he were a woman.

Yaniv has filed 16 different complaints against estheticians in the past year.

This outrageous fruit poof Yaniv argues that, as a transgender woman, he is being denied services on account of his gender identity and the process is discriminatory.

The fact that he is simply another sick bird is neither here or there.

This is the height and very pinnacle of that stupidity which is rapacious litigation on the part of a gender dysphoric turd attempting to force his personal mental illness on innocent business people because he perceives his cognitive ability as being far greater than reality places it before a true thinking public.

It's rather like so-called trans women stating it's their right to date straight me even though that is anathema to the word "straight" and a straight man dating a trans woman makes both of them queer as a three dollar bill.

Now then. I'm fine with a person choosing to call themselves one gender when in actuality they are another.

Forcing your sicko selves on the rest of us is quite a bit unsatisfactory.

I decline to participate in your sickness transexuals. Go seek help. You certainly need it.

Personally, I hope some mad muslim nabs Mr Yaniv and teaches him the meaning of manhood with a gurkha.

Social Anxiety and Me

Loosely, the words 'social anxiety' refers to being nervous in social situations.

This spectrum includes anxiety to the point of angst, disturbances of mood, eating disorders, substance abuse, and most commonly a shyness beyond the constraints of personal growth and awkwardness.

Shyness may manifest itself in conjunction with low self esteem and that social phobia which happens is the crux of 'social anxiety' itself.

I exhibited a diffidence through young adulthood which imparted a modesty and lack of self confidence born primarily as the result of always being the fat new kid ....

Then puberty hit and I became 'the fat new kid with acne'.

Those consequences were profound from a standpoint of psychosocial relevance and my quirks which remain to this day are likely secondary to my experiential world inventory which was dismal and unrelenting.

brickhouse

In the military I was an accomplished pugilist and engaged in all manner of hostilities for recreation and profit.

It all was a release I had never known prior to that time and I figure that hostility which was the result of a public education with other peoples scumbag children were the root of that evil.

I spent my young adulthood diverting my gaze and avoiding facial expressions which might be questioned by others.

Having a vocablulary second to none my conversation skills were always superior but my inability to look others in the eye was problematic at all levels.

Those who never suffered the painful shyness I cultivated slowly over the years cannot fathom the panic and terror social situations might impose.

I was 28 before I entered my first "real" relationship with someone who treated me as though I were a worthwhile human being and she and I were happy through her death in the early 1980s from ovarian cancer.

Not really being good relationship material I decided I wouldn't be seriously pursuing anything in domestic partnership as a matter of personal preference.

So that just goes to show you that "nature" or "nurture" matters much less than who you become as the result of interpersonal relations with others in those spheres in which you exist — for whatever reasons or environments you encounter.

I am still here while so many of my detractors and torturers are now dead, in prison, or otherwise extant in that vaccuous void between their ears.

My consequences likewise are severe. PTSD, suppressed fits of rage, a constant need to keep myself in check, a pursuit of perfection beyond my grasp, and chipped teeth from a jaw which has clenched WAY too many times. I am no ordinary man.

California Rodentia
    California Rodent

The rats of California are proliferating in a post drought expanse of filth caused by the exploding homeless population in conjunction with too many cities refusing to take charge of the situation and deal with it.

Disease ridden rats are reproducing with wild abandon and transmitting those vectors for which they have been famous from time immemorial.

Rat infestations are a function of squalor and decay such as that which is happening in the so-called 'golden state' with LA County being forced to shut down playgrounds owned by the rat population which is actively endangering the children ... instead of the human population for whom those parks exist.

The bureaucrat's as well as the leftist libtards endanger their children with inaction and nobody is taking care of business.

The stupidity of the California left is becoming the stuff of legend in the rational community.

This is becoming a hallmark of the left and their preoccupation for providing entitlements to illegal aliens and their progeny.

Boo!

A bit of Drug Testing at Schools
Once upon a time I was staunchly against drug testing anytime anywhere.

Of course, during this period I was quite the head myself and frequented venues where the alcohol, cannabis, and pharmaceuticals flowed unabated.

Then one day it became obvious that drug testing had become a fact of life in employment.

urinalysis

It was that juncture which caused a distinct fork in the road for me personally whereby I stopped all the mess 'cold turkey' and decided that there were too many issues related to employment otherwise to continue what could only be 'deleterious' to my career.

Smartest move I ever made.

One of my good friends had the audacity to say "I'm going to smoke my pot now, and that's just the way it is".

He was fired from the best job which could be had in his home town because he failed a urine test for cannabis.

He lost his 50,000 dollar Ford pickup truck in the deal.

I felt bad for him but now he tends bar at a biker joint and this did not have to be his hard headed outcome.

I was reading about a Texas school district which will begin drug testinng students as young as 12 years of age if they are interested in playing sports or participating in extracurricular activities.

This all goes down at the commencement of classes in a month.

The local jurisdiction says there is no drug problem. They just want to get a 'leg up' on keeping students safe and in a drug free environment.

The policy has been under discussion for about a year and the district wants to be proactive in controlling drug abuse.

Seven substances will be screened that include alcohol, marijuana, heroin and opioids with the fundage already budgeted.

SCOTUS provided for this in 2002 by raising the authority of public schools to test children for illegal drugs in middle and high schools expanding to those included in extracurricular activities in addition to those participating in student athletics, who were already being routinely tested.

As for me, I no longer care about drug testing at any level. Some of those with whom I interact likewise do not fear the drug test.

There comes a time when old habits must be set aside as a predicate for the future.

Rutger Hauer RIP
    Rutger Hauer
Rutger Hauer
January 23, 1944 - July 19, 2019
Alas, one of my favorite character actors has passed in the Netherlands at age 75.

Rutger Hauer, who thralled me with his portrayals of replicants, heroes, villains, and a variety of well crafted characters will be remembered by me personally for his consistent entertaining career which has punctuated my life with many enjoyable moments.

The threads report his 'circuitous' route to acting. They noted his parents who ran an acting school and intervening military hitches.

All in all I'd say it was worth the wait for a catalog as diverse as the horror and macabre through kind and gentleness as well as the staunch hero types overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

Some personal favorites from his work include Blade Runner, The Hitcher, Escape from Sobibor, Nostradamus, Sin City, and Blind Fury.

Rest in peace.

Birthday of the late Chris Gagnon
Christopher E Gagnon from Manitou Springs Colorado
Today is the sixty fourth anniversary of the birth of my late childhood friend, Christopher E Gagnon.

He departed this earthly existence on April 5, 1995 from contracting AIDS in the Pikes Peak area of Colorado.

We were both 40. I was just turned and he was rapidly approaching.

His funeral was held April 11, 1995 at Congregational Community Church of Manitou Springs.

I once tried to ascertain where I was at that time ...

I recall my birthday that year which was held on the following 14th of April replete with the black roses and all the 'over the hill' mess I received during that particular celebration.

This would have placed me teaching in the state college system.

I was oblivious to his passing at that juncture because I had not been able to ascertain his whereabouts to any level of certainty.

I have marked his passing as well as I could given the fact that I lost contact with him only to reconnect via his obit courtesy of my good friend Mark Casey.

It is a rather somber day for me to note because the world lost a very talented person upon his death.

That his parents both passed a scant five years prior to his death is simply further personal tragedy as they were wonderful kind and gentle people as well.

So, happy birthday in Heaven Chris Gagnon.

I hope that all the secrets of the universe are known to you and that I may visit with you again sometime when it becomes appropriate.

I am labeled by some who know me as 'homophobic' and indeed I rather view homosexuality as a sin of the highest order.

However, I have acquired the knowledge over the years that judgement indeed is not mine and we are not the sum total of the worst things we do in life.

Be all of this as it may, 'homophobic' is quite the misnomer with 'phobic' being a reference to 'fear' which simply is not nor has it ever been there.

Despite our differences, Chris Gagnon was great company and it simply is not in me to hold anything against him.

I have missed him over the years.
