National Apple Day 2023

I've consumed a lot of apples over the years. I'm particularly fond of the Granny Smith and Red Delicious varieties for opposite reasons.

Today is National Apple Day. It happens on October 21 and is dedicated to celebrating the apple and those items which are made from them.

The apples in the United States are derived from European stock and there is a historical mythological character named Johnny Appleseed who was singularly responsible for the massive propagation of orchards here.

Regardless of the variety the apple is a healthy snack and you might indulge at your leisure should you feel so inclined.
