My life has been computers. A facet of that life has been the internet. However, my career has not been based on the internet — with a small stint as a web developer not withstanding ... which as it turns out was a waste of time entirely.
Hardware, Software, and Media are my forte. I pride myself on troubleshooting and breakfix operations most of all.
With each passing day I grow more weary of the blog and web presence I maintain simply for the entertainment of sophomoric hackers who would attempt to breach my frontier.
I suppose you could just say I'm bored with it all.
Today is known as "Internaut Day". It is marked each August 23 as an homage to the invention of the World Wide Web by Sir Tim Berners Lee and of course I view it as a worthy endeavor ... but it just doesn't float my boat like it does with a lot of others in my midst.
An "internaut" is said to be a person who has real world expertise in those technologies which comprise the Internet and a working understanding of it's history and evolution as well.
I have the tech stuff down pat and know a lot of the history and evolution.
Now if I could only give a crap about it. I fear I have been jaded by the petty endeavors of those who like to break into sites and attempt damage.
I'm just not attuned to the entirety of the internet because I find too much of it petty pursuits which should be unnecessary if the ISPs would force their customers to behave.
