Draw a Bird Day 2026

We have yet another Draw a Bird Day (DABDay) for the encouragement of people to draw birds and place them on display.

Draw a Bird Day (April 8th) is an international informal event dedicated to creating simple bird art in the name of bringing a little joy.

It was inspired by one Dorie Cooper who was a young girl in 1943.

Anyone can participate by simply sketching, painting, or crafting any bird in any style, often sharing them to celebrate nature and creativity.

This is not a technical exercise in perfection. It is meant to be simple and fun.

Any manner of bird subject is appropriate.

Any media are likewise appropriate.

I have participated for a number of years now.
