Yeah, I eat bran buds. About a cup a serving. I like the buds over the straight allbran cereal because it's less twig like in presentation.
Though I do believe that sufficient soaking in almond or other milk allows it to assume a more swallowable texture ...
Rather like mush.
Now then, though it's obvious that I have a frank aversion to the stuff it is probably a curiosity as to why I would subject my palate to such misery.
I suppose you can sum it all up in a single word: effect.
I don't eat it for the taste. I don't eat it because I enjoy it. I eat it for the effect it has on my elimination.
I feel that my fiber intake is insufficient otherwise and make it a point to down a bowl of bran buds several times weekly.
There are worse things than bran buds ... like chemical laxatives that don't work. I recall a time when X-Lax was the single most effective gut bomb on the planet. Those days are gone.
I can take a large dose and it consistently does nothing. I think it likely has to do with the freshness of the product which has come under question frequently in recent history.
I'll stick to the mechanical remedies for this reason.
