Thinking of Militas
Here we are embarking on the holiday season. Once, my most favorite time of the year, I'm simply not feeling too festive with all the democrat illegality and underhanded profiteering they continue at the behest of organizations like the socialists, black lives don't really matter, southern poverty unlawful center, the gd 'squad' and their wretched villanous ilk.

This has me thinking of militas and hoping they will be effective when the civil war finally arrives. These military forces were meant to supplement our regular army during emergencies. Though history records that there have been incidents of abuse in some militias; I am beginning to feel that they will be a fundamental part of finally placing the democrat pillagers of the Repbulic in their place once and for all.

Militas are elements of emergency response. This is an emergency. The regular army is something the democrat brigands believe they will ultimately control. Given the conservative nature of a lot of military I'm curious as to just how far this will go.

All I can say is these unhappy holidays are not being ignored by we patriots to the cause of The Republic. God bless America. God bless the militas. Please save us from the innumerable democrat party criminals being allowed to walk the earth as though they (think they) own it.

Thigh Injury Five Weeks Later
quadriceps (front)
front
hamstrings (back)
back
Muscle strain of the thigh can be excruciatingly painful and protracted affairs. I am finally reaching what appears to be resolution of a bad hit to the left thigh affecting both the front and back.

I pretty much surmised from reading that I had injured both the hamstrings (located in back) as well as the quadriceps (located in front) and the idea of a pain starting a couple of days into the experience and progressing in the manner this did to be as fear inducing as it gets.

There was a time when I thought I wasn't going to make it. The intractable pain cripped me and left me unable to do anything other than sit or lie and moan.

Over the counter medications were of limited value during the course of this injury. I ended up going to my primary care provider some six months prior to my scheduled appointment to try to get some relief.

She really brought out the big guns too. The pain killer was a highly effective opioid and today was the first day in the treatment plan that I didn't require it upon arising.

While pain remains in the thigh it is the character and intensity of that pain which has improved vastly to the point that I actually think I'm going to make it.

Suffice it to say that I'm going to attempt to keep my ever advancing age in mind when I start getting sloppy sitting and arising from an inadequate chair.

This experience was the stuff of euthanasia. I questioned my will to live and ability to endure for pretty much the first time in my experiential world inventory. Were it not for the effective pain relief afforded to me by my primary care provider I might not be here right now.

I am unlikely to ever ridicule someone pursing pain relief ever again as I have done on occasion in the past.

Memories of Pablo Picasso
    Pablo Picasso
Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Cipriano
de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz Picasso
October 25 1881 - April 8 1973
Like many I know I've had little experience with Picasso aside from the occasional museum and the various documentaries and oh yes, the coffee table books featuring his work which were a favorite of mine in the early 1970s through around my Navy hitch when the I became that pure animal still steeped in those childhood fantasy ideations I would not escape for another few years ...

Pablo Ruiz Picasso the Spanish artist extraordinare who did painting, sculpting, print making, ceramics and theatre design essentially resided in France throughout his adult existence. I always had the time to devour some magazine article back when they were envogue with the various insights into him and his art ... and he was largely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

He is known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist representations of militaria.

Picasso demonstrated great artistic talents early on from his childhood through adolescent "naturalist" phase. His work underwent a lot of experimental changes during the early 20th century which I failed to recognize as bonafide art theory manifest in those philosophies and techniques he placed into the methodology of his work. I was more interested in appearances and form rather than the underlying theory and basis of that which I was viewing.

All in all he was a prolific worker throughout his life and he achieved that which many never see; accomplishment, renown, and great fortune becoming one of the best known individuals from any genre on the planet in the 20th century.

He passed 3 weeks before I graduated from high school and my appreciation of his art was nil. He is part of that which made me older and wiser as the years progressed though it was years before I had any grasp of who and what he was.

Food Day 2020
center for science in the public interest logo

Since 1975 the United States Food Day is celebrated each year on the 24th of October ... and typically corresponds to the entire month.

It is held under the auspices of the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) with an aim of creating an observance in the vein of 'Earth Day' only centered around the food industry and associated human aspects of agriculture, health, and nutrition. Food Day in the United States is celebrated annually on October 24 and often throughout the month. The celebration was started in 1975 by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) in an attempt to create an event similar to Earth Day aimed at industrialization of American agriculture, rising food prices, hunger, and the American diet and the subsequent health crisis of malnutrition.

While the day's focus remains the CSPI revived the campaign with Food Day becoming an instrument run by food day org component of CSPI. Raising awareness and changing behaviors related to food remains the concern of this food day movement and of course, the UN figures it needed a 'world food day' to go along with it's desire to rule the world in the name of globalism.

While I subscribe only to the United States version a similar food day idigineous to Canada exists under a similar model and as always the United Nations can go straight to Hell because they want to rule you or kill you and that's what their Agenda 2030 is all about. Sustainability is a ruse designed to lure you into complacent acceptance of the underlying horror until it's too late. Read the documents.

Mole Day 2020
    Mole Day
There was a time when my interest in chemistry and such was quite a bit beyond that state in which it exists presently. During this time I read various threads concerning concepts and happenings and one of them is Mole Day.

Mole day is observed each year on October 23 from 6:02 am to 6:02 pm commemorating Avogadro's Number, 6.02 x 1023 ... a basic chemistry unit of measurement taught to me by Mrs Eadie F Cooper at Wagener-Salley High School round about 1971 or so.

Nowadays I could really give a rip as my technical interests surround machines and languages ... but back then I considered such things of paramount importance. I believe the various activities in which I participated with the various chemistry geeks were a part of the decline in that importance I felt for the entire shebang.

So when it comes to molecules, one mole is a mass in grams whose number is equal to the molar mass of the molecule aka "gram molecular weight". One mole of any substances contains Avogadro's Number of molecules or atoms of that particular substance as discovered by one Amadeo Avogadro who became known for this measurement posthumously.

Pretty Boy Floyd
Pretty Boy Floyd
Charles Arthur Floyd
aka Pretty Boy Floyd
February 3, 1904 – October 22, 1934

I was never one to pursue a life of crime. My exploits were more of a laziness, trash talking bent whereby I was in trouble for either mouthing off or crass commentary. This too abated later in my years as I grew weary of the same old bothers they caused me to incur.

There was a gangster named Charles Arthur Floyd who went by the nickname "Pretty Boy" who robbed banks and gained widespread recognition for burning mortgage documents and other debt instruments during the course of his criminal exploits.

His positive image with the public didn't save him from being killed by a group of Bureau of Investigation agents leaad by Melvin Purvis. His decedent affairs likewise were a sideshow of publicity and photo opportunities which were utilized in the public dissemination of his end.

Pretty Boy Floyd has continuously been familiar in American popular culture. Like him or love him ... all too many of us have heard of him — either as notorious or tragic and even a victim of the widespread devastation and hardships of the Great Depression.

He lived a short life of a mere 30 years but impacted his world as very few have. That allure with the criminal doesn't really carry over to these times as the selfishness of today's criminal element render them more dastardly than anything else notable.

Firmware Update Hell
    Your problem is obvious ...
I'm running a high end triband router which recently has been giving me no end of grief.

It all began with wireless channel drop offs which grew increasingly more frequent and ended with network latency out the yin yang.

First, I checked out the projected EOL for the hardware in place.

The technical data stated projected end of life after 5 years. We typically run desktop PCs a maximum of 4 years before they are considered to be needing replacement.

I curbed a lot of that with the purchase of a nice set of matching cooler master cases into which I install new equipment MOBO, CPU, Memory, peripherals, adapters, etc with the machine looking the same but effectively given totally new upgraded functional parts.

So ... with my 6 year old router refurb unlikely on my end I investigated my replacement options and found several newer models that would certainly fit the bill.

Then I read troubleshooting data for the router itself and found that most of my problems were being habitually suffered by those using the same make and model. I also noticed that the most effective solution for adding years to the equipment was to stick to older firmware revisions as the company is always looking to sell services and will sacrifice finite hardware resources toward that end.

After restoring a revision at a critical juncture just prior to the commencement of my various annoyances I find the functionality has improved by leaps and bounds.

I'm not saying that I've added years, or even that this is a long term fix. I just know I'm going to give it a try prior to blowing another $500 on yet another large home networking model.

We'll just have to see; but I'm glad I did the research prior to taking another big ticket plunge.

World Statistics Day 2020
I am a very unlikely stats person. My math background was shaky throught my primary and secondary educations up into adulthood when I had the great epiphany of algebra with words, the various math properties and their interrelationships and lo and behold the spreadsheet and database management system where I too became the math wizard my sister always was.

statistics

So, I attribute all of this to simply being a petal on that late bloomer Dr Ted Rotz said I was and I am certainly fortunate that the computer came along and did a lot more than just equalizing the playing field. I finally had a competitive edge which was objective and could be demonstrated at any keyboard placed before me attached to the proper machine and software.

Lucky me. Thank you Dr Steve Lloyd. Thank you Dr Charlie Davis. Thank you my ex old best friend Darrell. You were all instrumental in making me the workaday world success I am today ... stats and all.

Today is World Statistics Day. It is an international observance celebrating statistics. It was created by the United Nations Statistical Commission and was first observed on October 20, 2010. It comes down every five years.

Inasmuch as I view the United Nations as both evil and unnecessary as well as a threat to life and liberty on the planet ... much like that subterfuge called BLM is to white people and The Republic everywhere; I'll stop here and just wish you a happy recurrence of this five year event.

UN Agenda 2030 means DEATH

To Hell with the united nations, their New World Order, and you foreign anuses occupying New York City. This goes double for you whining lying ass MARXIST BLM bitches.

Mixed Memories of Tom Bosley
Back in my Happy Days era Tom Bosley was a fixture in my life. Recently out of my Andy Griffith "Opie Era" and not yet embarked for my hitch in the Navy I was still a relatively sociable young fat boy who had just shed some 170 pounds and was thinking about paring off with some nice young lady to get busy with responsibility and all things family.

Tom Bosley
Tom Bosley
October 1, 1927 - October 19, 2010

Sadly, this was never to be and I'm afraid that my memories of Tom Bosley were sullied by his Jiffy Lube commercials. Back in the day I went to the Jiffy Lube location on Knox Abbott Drive at 12th Street in Cayce, SC. At that time it was run by a fellow named Walt who exuded confidence and he gained my trust early on resulting in a long and profitable lube engagement every 3000 miles or so.

Alas when Walt left the establishment they were exposed for the utter buffoons they all were without a shred of mechanical aptitude much less an ounce of skill at the entire establishment.

When it became obvious that the only "service" they had to offer was some overpriced computerized schedule of so-called "maintenance" parts to be installed by those of more than just "questionable" skills I found myself pursuing other options.

It was during this period that Tom Bosley began hawking Jiffy Lube rip offs to the world and he and I came to a swift parting of fandom and company never to be reconciled in his (or my) lifetime.

Thomas Edward Bosley was an actor entertainer, and teevee personality best known for portraying Howard Cunningham on the 1970s ABC sitcom Happy Days. He did a stint on a program called Father Dowling Mysteries but by then had earned my disdain and subsequent boycott of his endeavors.

He was also known for a role he portrayed on Murder, She Wrote which was a favorite of my Mom's and I endured him for her sake.

Oh had he not pursued the Jiffy Lube propaganda gig I likely would still be a fan. However, we have to deal with what is and the fact of the matter is he spouted off a steady stream of lies about the J Team, their utter lack of competence, and that rip off Jiffy Lube remains to this day for the mechanically unattuned.

Boo !

World Menopause Day 2020
    X and Y Chromosomes
Normally menopause is a term reserved for the decline of hormonal production in the female of the species. "World Menopause Day" is held every year on October 18 and is observed to raise awareness of the menopause and the support options available for improving health and wellbeing ... primarily for females who typically have a greater amount of suffering associated with hormone decline in biofeedback mechanisms.

There comes a time in the life of middle aged men which allegedly corresponds to menopause in a woman. This stage of life comes with the loss of sexual potency and a crisis of confidence and sometimes even identity as a male of the species.

This is not to be confused with the so-called transgender type who is a male who thinks he's a female inside or a female who thinks she is actually a male. These are deviations from the realities of genotype and involve phenotype whereby a person changes their appearance with various extrinsic applications such as makeup, dress, and even surgery.

The menopausal male is subjected to a condition called hypogonadism whereby the biofeedback mechanisms involved with male sexual response are insuficient to their existence.

Now then, regardless of your gender — which is a function of your chromosomal makeup and NOT how you feel about yourself you may find yourself subject to menopause and that which accompanies it in your life.

Knowing yourself is your best coping mechanism for the condition and this knowledge surrounds that reality of gender which must be recognized up front. Otherwise you can just 'trans out' and take synthetic hormones for the rest of your self effacing existence and configure your phenotype to represent that fake female or fake male you "feel" is you.

Gender identity is a function of chromosomal makeup not some fantasy made up between your ears.

Good luck with all of that. My personal preference in gender identity revolves around that who I am in reality, not some contrived flight of fancy invoked by that intrusive uncontrollable fantasy world I left behind so long ago.

Some psychology major can go prey on someone else's wallet.

Marie Antoinette guillotined 227 years ago
Marie Antoinette while Prisoner of the Revolutionary Tribunal
Maria Antonia Josefa Johanna Habsburg-Lorraine aka Marie Antoinette of Austria, spouse of Louis XVI of France lost her head on this day 227 years ago during the French Revolution. She was the last queen of France prior to the French Revolution.

The French Revolution commenced in May of 1789 when the Ancien Régime was abolished in favor of a constitutional monarchy.

Its replacement in September 1792 by the First French Republic led to the Execution of Louis XVI in January 1793, and an extended period of political upheaval.

Marie Antoinette, youngest daughter of Empress Maria Theresa and Emperor Francis I became queen of france when her husgand, Louis-Auguste, heir apparent to the French throne ascended the throne as Louis XVI on May 10, 1774.

She was linked to various controversial events during her reign resulting in her conviction for high treason by the Revolutionary Tribunal, imprisonment, abolishment of the French monarchy, and execution of Louis XVI by guillotine on the Place de la Révolution.

Thus ended the French monarchy and began the Republic of France.

Pope John Paul II Day 2020
Karol Wojtyła, Pope John Paul II
Karol Wojtyła, Pope John Paul II
When I was in Rome for the first time on August 6, 1978 the stands contained newspapers with broad bold headlines stating that the pope had died.

This was a reference to Pope Paul VI whose health had been in the news at that time and I tried to take it all in stride. Rome was a busy place and the cabbies were friendly and helpful as they squired us around the city and we attempted to pursue those tourist things for which we had traveled from Civitavecchia by train earlier in the day.

When I was in Rome for the second time on September 28, 1978 the stands yet again contained newspapers with those same headlines stating that the pope had died.

I found this somewhat confusing as Pope John Paul I who was elected to succeed Pope Paul VI was a relatively young man and I remained in a state of confusion regarding the matter until I had sorted things out for myself afterwards.

Over the years controversy was uncovered regarding the death of John Paul I with the resulting widely accepted notion that he was murdered by a cardinal as he prepared for bed due to an impending scandal regarding Vatican banking to be released the next day. Of course, the scandal was averted and the perpetrator was never apprehended.

The notion of a senior member of the church being murdered by another senior member of the church pretty much did me in as a proponent of the catholic church and with the subsequent ineptitude of the so-called "two popes" and some of the totally unbiblical statements and mandates from those subsquent inept pope substitutes it's all over between the catholic church and me personally.

Karol Wojtyła of Poland was elected pope after the passing of John Paul I and remained in office until his death April 2, 2005. He chose the papal name John Paul II in deference to his predecessor.

What a uncanonical mess catholicism is devolved into since the passsing of John Paul II.

In Poland today is Pope John Paul II Day, which is a celebration of Karol Wojtyła held each Ocober 16.

There are a number of significant aspects to the date but suffice it to say that with the death of John Paul II so went my respect for the catholic church. Karol Wojtyła was the last true Vicar of Christ as far as I am concerned.

Both popes Benedict XVI and Francis have proven both unworthy and irrelevant. Francis in particular lacks biblical knowledge and wisdom as evidenced by some his rantings. Luckily judgement begins in the pulpit.

Global Handwashing Day 2020
In this era of COVID-19 and those contrived pandemics by the governments who lack the wherewithall of preventics we observe another Global Handwashing Day. Yes, October 15 is Global Handwashing Day, that international advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives.
Global Handwashing Day Logo

Being the hygiene freak that I am personally it is a pleasure to attest to those benefits afforded me by keeping cleanliness in the forefront of my life because I believe that preemtive strikes against viruses and bacteria to be an effective weapon against illnesses of all kinds. So in that spirit I declare my battle cry for today to be

Hand hygiene for all !

International Standards Day 2020
Standards are an important from a standpoint of relativity. Ideas and things used for measurements, setting norms, and/or models in those never ending comparative evaluations require a standard point of reference from which these actions may be performed.

There are various institutions which concern themselves with the maintenance of standards. Each October 14 the major institutions concerned with the maintenance of standards honor their own.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)

     Precise Inch

This day is about paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of the thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as International Standards.

The purpose International Standards Day aka World Standards Day is to raise awareness among consumers, industries, and regulating agencies regarding the importance of standardization as it relates to the international economy.

It prevents scientific and precise measurement from becoming a mishmash of unsubstantiated comparisons devoid of technical analysis and basis.
