World Whisky Day 2026

Here we have yet another ubiquitous whiskey celebration. Regardless of how you spell it sots of the world unite: We have another whiskey day.

This one is called World Whisky Day and it happens annually on the third Saturday in May to encourage everyone to enjoy and explore all types of whisky (or whiskey if you're like me), with this year's celebration falling on May 16th.

This particular Whisky Day was founded by one Blair Bowman in 2012, and is an international celebration promoting whiskey culture through tastings and events, often coinciding with Whisky Month in Scotland ... which I might add is a most excellent place to obtain fine whiskey. Supposedly the crux is to make whisky "fun and accessible" rather than stuffy or intimidating.

World Whisky Day is the Third Saturday in May with a focus on celebration and accessibility. International Whiskey Day is March 27 and has a focus on charity and honoring late English beer and whiskey writer Michael Jackson.

Sounds like a whole lot of imbibing going on. Either way enjoy the day !
