When I was a child I thought I might become a Thespian.
The situation was greatest during the 7th and 8th grades when my good friend, the late Christopher E. Gagnon would engage in all manner of monster movies to include vampires, the wolf man, hunchback, and any number of characters from that genre called 'the macbre'.
Oh to be a child during that time with indulging parents who made those dreams come to life on rolls of 8mm color film.
I'm afraid the bulk of the talent lay with Chris who had abilities and repetoire far beyond those of most mortals and I ... was merely a neophyte compared to him.
Chris was a mild mannered gentle and kind person who was very well read and departed for Colorado where he lived the remainder of his life.
I never knew of his disposition til some 20 odd years after his passing and he died when we were both about 40 years of age.
World Theatre Day (WTD) is marked by the international theatre community on the 27th each year under the auspices of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and has been observed since 1961.
My proximity with that sphere of existence is solely due to my fine friend whom I have missed over the years.
