The day recognizes suicide survivors and raises awareness and support for those suffering with mental health from beneath their crayola red, green, and blue colored hair.

The semicolon (;) itself serves as a symbol of hope.

It represents a sentence an author could have ended but chose not to do so.

A signification of that decision to continue living.

The day serves as a call to action to reduce the stigma around mental health, promote open conversations, and encourage seeking help.

I suppose the mental image we should project is "you are not alone".
