Indeed, I have owned several fine instruments from a Roland A9Ex through the Korg Sampling Grand and indeed, had I the time commitment I would have made it.
However, my life was not my own.
It was my daddy's and the Navy owned him.
Thusly I never became proficient at playing the 88 keys. I do not sit at a keyboard with less than 88 keys.
I do play various "tone poems" but they are not a true grasp of the instrument ...
Unfortunately all I could ever do was admire from afar the likes of Kevin Cronin with REO Speedwagon and the late great Chick Corea because they "became" while I just "wished for" but never attained.
Today is World Pianist Day since 2014.
It is held yearly each November 8th under the auspices of Ivan Manko‑Vertogradov and honors pianists worldwide and recognizing their artistic contributions.
So if you're like me and are a frustrated "would be" pianist or other manifestation of musician toward that end, this day is for you.
