Pests surround us. No, I'm not talking about the imbeciles at work. Nor do I speak of the old curmudgeon living next door. I'm talking about those six legged devils from Hell called bugs.
Now my particular situation may not be exactly like everybody's, i.e., I routinely run a 70 pint dehumidifier in conjunction with a 4 ton air conditioning unit which effectively produces an environment too cool and arid for them to survive, much less thrive.
When I encounter most insects in my domicile they typically appear to be very distressed and in the midst of their death throes. Then they turn up deceased in close proximity to that first sighting. This is by design. I want the other bugs to watch them suffer on their way out. Cruel ??? Perhaps, but keep your filthy little cockroach carcass out of my house and I'll leave you alone. Bugs in my yard are never attacked by me at all.
Today is World Pest Day. It is held each June 6th under the auspices of the Chinese Pest Control Association. It is meant to be an awareness vehicle for effective pest management. At this point I'll remain silent about China in general.
So should you find yourself innundated with cockroaches, other insects, rats and so forth it requires decisive action on your part to keep your environment pest free. You have to know what makes your place less attractive to pests. It's not rocket science.
Get out there and place countermeasures in your environment and effect eradication programs sufficient to the task. I went so far as to take a formal course on domestic pest control but you may do well on your own.
I like the ultrasonic repellents which run the bugs and rodents off but leave the cats and dogs alone.
A lot of companies will try to assist you for a fee. You'll be better off going your own way and not spending your money with pest elimination crooks like Dodson, Terminix, and so forth.
