World Computer Literacy Day

World Computer Literacy Day December 2
Today is World Computer Literacy Day. It was initiated by an Indian computer firm called NIIT to commemorate the 20th anniversary of it's founding in 2001.

Apparently, they read research which indicated that most computer users around the world were of the male persuasion.

So now it goes down each December second in an effort to promote technology skills among the children and aims in particular toward "underserved" communities internationally.

A sidebar regarding it's creation is the promotion of Information Technology training and to celebrate the computer in general.
