The Minister who became a Monster

Each time I consider these teachings I think of the peril of the Rev Jim Jones who would sully the body of Christ in those base traditions of men for his own carnal knowledge, enrichment, and the darkest depths that sin may thrust anyone.
Even the devil himself is commanded "Touch not my annointed" and may not go where Jim Jones went in his deviant religious career. He started out innocently enough.
However, he devolved into a manipulative murderous monster who raped, pillaged, and otherwise exploited his congregation known as "The People's Temple".
Beginning as a civil rights preacher his downward spiral began in faith healing through cult leadership culminating a mass suicide at his Jonestown, Guyana commune.
Media reports of human rights abuses within the People's Temple were not enough to curtail the final tragedy when US Representativer Leo Ryan and a delegation sent to investigate were shot down in cold blood ... Murdered by the inner circle thugs which comprised the leadership of the "temple".
The mass suicide by 918 commune members included 304 children, killed by drinking a cyanide-poisoned children's soft drink called Flavor Aid. Those who did not drink the poison were shot with rifles during their attempt at escape.
