The Easter Connundrum

Christ brought before Pilate by the Sanhedrin
Well ... we have a 3 day weekend coming up, attributed to "Easter" and it leaves me thoughtful. The word Easter is a reference to a pagan ritual of spring where circles of initiates would go to the woods and fornicate.

Now, the holiday for me is called "Passover" because therein lay the true meaning of the day.

The crucifixion of Christ resulted in him becoming our Passover and bought for us with his blood eternal life.

I'm not one to engage in great debates regarding religious philosphy. I pretty much have decided a few years back that people were going to believe what they will and I would need to accept that.

However, I afford myself the same courtesy and choose to also believe what I believe and it's made for a far more satisfied existence from a personal standpoint.

John

3:14  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
3:15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3:17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
3:18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
3:19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
3:20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
3:21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
3:22After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
