I spent a number of years working in Emergency rooms operated by the county and state and I can tell you that there is a certain hardness a personality acquires as the result of that work experience. Professional detachment becomes more than a mode of operation but an aspect of survival when a person witnesses all affectations of traumatic injury sustained in varying manners as the result of misfortune however encountered ...
A case which brought the emergency medical staff to tears occurred when the ambulance arrived at a mobile home in West Caln Township, Pennsylvania and encountered a child with cuts, puncture wounds, and bruises all over his three year old body.
The little boy had been tortured and beaten with blunt and sharp objects over the course of three days. Weapons made from items found in the mobile home like a whip, a curtain rod, a strip made of aluminum, and a frying pan.
He was whipped and taped to a chair with electrical tape then beaten more.
His head was smashed through a wall.
Finally he was hanged by his feet and beaten more which lead to his death.
This punishment was administered because the child wouldn't eat breakfast.
The assailants were one Gary Fellanbaum and the boy's mother one Jillian Tait. It seems that they cohabitated with Fellenbaum's wife, Amber in the mobile home scene of the murder. They had been living in the mobile home for about a month.
Gary Fellanbaum and Tait went shopping, bought pizza, napped and had sex during that time while the child lay dying after weeks of endless torture. Fellenbaum and Tait are charged with murder. They are being held without bail with the District Attorney in the case to seek capital punishment. Amber Fellenbaum is charged with child endangerment for failure to notify the police and is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Scene of the crime
In the sum total of our collective existence there are those that do. There are those that watch. There are those who do nothing. There are those who get. I can't fathom what goes through the minds of any "so called man" who would mistreat a child to ANY ... much less this extent. Likewise, I feel standing by and allowing such reprehensible actions to transpire in the absence of intervention criminally irresponsible. It is alien to my existence and contradictory to my rearing. Rest in peace child.
