Robert Francis Vaughn
November 22, 1932 – November 11, 2016
When I was a kid I watched a television program called 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E' and the exploits of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, two agents at odds with the evil organization K.A.O.S. and oh Lord, how I did enjoy the secret agent genre and the devices and the death defying antics of the two.
Napoleon Solo was played by Robert Vaughn, an American actor noted for his work on stage, film and in television. He was so suave and debonair that I often times envisioned myself in such a role when I grew up in that overpowering fantasy world I inhabited at that time.
After a long career of successful portrayals he passed in a hospice in Danbury, Connecticut on November 11, 2016 from leukemia. He was eleven days shy of his 84th birthday.
