Reel Film Day 2025

When my dearly loved mother departs this earthly existence I will no longer have any viable reason to continue. My life will as it were — have run it's course and there will be no need for me to continue down this "plan b" path I chose for myself long ago.
The drama which is implied by all of this is quite a suitable segue to Reel Film Day.
Reel Film Day happens each March 5 and celebrates film in all it's glory. It is a day for showcased events all over and is particularly poignant in my memory because of the Christmas I was given an 8 mm projector and camera and set loose upon the world with my compadre, the late Chris Gagnon back in Key West, Florida of the waning 1960s.
Together we remade as many horror flicks as we could passing from the 8 mm format to Super 8 of course.
Ah, my mama and daddy loved me so much as to bestow such an incredible gift upon a child like me as they did.
So on this Reel Film Day I hope you'll take a moment and celebrate the time when movies were not digital creations, but existed only on reels of film stored in celluloid lockers everywhere.
