Play-Doh debuts in 1956

Some of my creations were absolutely hilarious. I thought the modeling to be self-edifying and typically I would start out with a package of different colored compound in cans only to have them merge into a single muddy color by the end of activities.
I was not deterred. I continued to play with the admixture to my heart's content and my parents always made sure I had adequate supplies of the stuff over the years. That indulgence has paid off in an artistic hing I never let loose over the ensuing years.Later, after my Play-Doh days I left the soft, water-based, non-toxic compound for modeling clay which is a firmer, often oil or polymer-based material designed for detailed sculpting and older children much like that which I am now ...
On this day in the year 1956 (I was one year old) Play Doh made it's debut in playrooms everywhere and many other venues like it. Still, I long for the innocence of those years and what I lacked in artistic ability was compensated for by enthusiasm and persistence in the craft.
So this popular children's modeling compound Play-Doh was first introduced and I remained a big fan for as long as I can remember. I cannot say when I finally diverged from the medium. I do know it was long before the workaday world had fully acquired my full attention.
So in this day and at this time I hope you will consider modeling and scultpting as an art form — and though I would love the thought of resuming such activities, I'm afraid at 71 years old my day has passed.
