Persistent Error State

email
Perhaps the proper term is 'duplicated error state'. It seems that I duplicated an error in the mail server configuration from one of those many configuration and reconfiguration attempts to achieve TLS email nirvana.

So ... I had a configuration file whereby I had duplicated instances of no spaces after the commas in the directives as well as a deprecated directive resulting in my awaking to a 'configuration error' bright and early New Years morning.

Not being one to set aside anything that requires immediate attention; I tracked down the errors, fixed them, chastised myself roundly, and now all is well with imap, smtp, and pop on the box.

So I begin 2019 with an error free (tested exhaustively and very hopefully) mail environment with all test emails being received both ways and an error log innocent of a single entry and the mail log full of successful test data.

Perhaps I do indeed learn from past mistakes after all.
