I recall the rage left with us after the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. I recall how smug Osama bin Laden was during the carnage.
On May 2, 2011, US the special operations force known as SEAL Team Six killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden during a targeted raid, known as Operation Neptune Spear, in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
The mission, ordered by President Obama after identifying his compound, ended a nearly 10-year manhunt following the 9/11 attacks.
The location was a walled compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, approximately 30 miles from Islamabad.
The personnel involved were primarily US Navy SEALs, supported by the CIA and JSOC. The operation ended when Bin Laden was killed alongside four others, including one of his sons.
No US personnel were killed.
The operation yielded numerous documents, computers, and electronics for analysis.
DNA analysis and facial recognition confirmed his identity. To avoid creating a, shrine, his body was buried at sea in the North Arabian Sea within 24 hours of his death following Islamic traditions. President Obama announced the success of the mission on May 1, 2011, stating "justice has been done".
You can run but you can't hide. I personally would have preferred placing his corpse in a large jar of formalin or alcohol and placing his shot up ass at ground zero for all to see.
