Oneofusismissing Day 2026

Rudelle
Oneofusismissing Day happens each July 8 and offers a moment to memorialize loved ones and take note of those who have departed.

This day encourages the sharing of grief, consolation, and gratitude for the gift of life. It is a time to unite with others to honor memories, share stories, and find healing.

The day began in April 2021 by one Latonya Brown after she lost her daughter in an accident. While grieving over her loss, Brown realized that the sudden death of her child did not and could not sum up her life. Instead, it was a reminder that we only have one life, one chance to make the most out of it before our time on earth ends.

Each day we all lose loved ones to illness, accidents, crime, and sadly, suicide as well as other causative factors.

It doesn’t matter how these people died or why. What matters is how we choose to remember them and live our lives after they’re gone.

One of us may always be missing but this is okay in the end because there is life after death and it's okay to move on. Mourn as your heart directs you there is no "correct" way.

This is okay because there is life after death. We have a right to move on. It’s fine to try and laugh and again enjoy life. People shouldn’t feel guilty about letting go of a painful past or moving on from a tragic loss.
