The term "webmistress" implies a woman engineer responsible for designing, developing, marketing, or maintaining a website.
In actuality while I'm sure they're out there I don't know many of the female persuasion who work as engineers per se and I don't really view the stated tasks as engineering either.
Loosely, a skilled coder could be an engineer depending on how far you want to stretch the definition.
In a similar vein, I know a lot of systems analysts claiming a title with duties that they really can't perform efficiently either.
I for one do not approve of assigning an unrealistic titles in real time to an unqualified person in the name of gender equality. However, this is a common occurrence in the field due to our politically correct woke nature.
It doesn't even matter if the person has substandard skills and can't perform the work adequately.
Yeah, it might be politically expedient but those enterprises suffer from the lack of skillset ... like Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina where skills are not required to be just another dumbass on their payroll.
Whatever you spin on the career designation I hope that if you are into the web site game that you enjoy it and if you hold the title and are a lady this day is for you.
