National Walking Day 2025

I have a long history as a person who walks.

I used to walk for exercise.

Early on it was to get where I wanted to go.

Then I got my first automobile and from then my walking days were pretty much over.

Then my early 20s arrive and I began the transformation into power lifter.

That phase lasted until I left California and then I came back to South Carolina and resumed my Kentucky Fried Chicken addiction and all those gains were lost.

I used to enjoy the impromptu "going for a walk".

The rest, as we say — is history.

Today is National Walking Day.

It is observed on the first Wednesday in April making it April 2 this year.

You really can't overplay the health benefits of walking.

Sometimes the most beneficial impact is "low impact".

It favorably affects most lifestyle diseases and adds to your cardiovascular integrity.

It is my personal belief that everyone should get out there and walk as much as they can.
