National Tile Day 2025

The appearance just always seemed appropriate in my eyes in the context of architecture.
Today is National Tile Day.
It is observed each February 23 and celebrates the aesthetics of tile in building.
Tiles are something which has appeared in buildings since ancient times.
I recall the fine work I saw in the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum as well as those in Athens.
The walls and floors were frequently presented a standalone mosaic artwork before me.
It struck a chord with me as a decorative motif to which I could grow accustomed in my own home.
