I take a chance most every day except Thursday. I play both the Megamillions and Powerball lotteries most days. At 20 bucks a pop it's rather expensive, too.
Today is National Take a Chance Day.
It happens each April 23 to instill the idea that not taking a risk may be the riskiest of all possible outcomes.
The origins of the day are obscure but it promotes gambling and the taking of opportunities you might not otherwise indulge.
It does not necessarily promote the lottery or gambling per se but promotes that leap of faith it takes to rely on luck in anything which may come up.
So I'm still waiting for lightning to strike. I still await that elusive lottery jackpot. I am told by various significant others that I'm wasting my time that I will never win big.
Thus far the naysayers are correct. All I can do is hope.
Happy National Take a Chance Day and I hope you win. One of us needs to.
