One of my earliest forays into super heroes was the character Superman.
I watched the Adventures of Superman starring George Reeves, Noel Neill, and Jack Larson early on in my life at Virginia Beach.
I followed them into syndication and marvelled when they took that leap to color production when I encountered those later in Hanahan, SC after daddy got our first color television.
So the 12th of June brings us National Superman Day.
Held under the auspices of DC Comics since 2013, the day celebrates the "Man of Steel".
Superman has been called by many names in recent years but one thing remains common in him.
He always stood for what is best for humanity.
My last personal superman was my late stepfather Johnny H Pruett, who took me in late in his life and loved me as his own from the first day he ever saw me.
Truly, he is something that was best for my humanity at more levels than I can count and he redeemed me when no one else could or would, leaving me humbled by his memory and striving to be more like him to this day.
