Today is National Picnic Day.
It is observed annually on April 23 to encourage people to take a break, pack a meal, and enjoy the outdoors.
It's a reasonable excuse to embrace spring weather by visiting a park, beach, or having a backyard picnic with friends and family.
They often involving easy-to-eat foods like sandwiches, fruits, and snacks.
While April 23 is the primary U.S. National Picnic Day, International Picnic Day is held on June 18.
