National Mahjong Day 2024

Moraffs Mahjong layout
My Mom was a former Mahjong aficionado, playing the game for hours on end. It was the shareware version of Moraff's Mahjong and she took to it so well that I bought her the full blown retail version with a couple of tile sets way back when.

Those days of endless Mahjong appear to be long gone as I have not seen her play the game as she does solitaire all too often.

I'm thinking about trying to dangle that plum before her yet again and get another retail license for her NUC workstation which she loved so much that she saved it from me and my fit of rage wielding a 12 pound sledgehammer on the sidewalk of my home. Nothing ticks me off worse than an under provisioned computer.
I'm sorry to note of late that their lack of proper SSL support when accessing the Moraff site is an impediment to any future purchases.
Today is National Mahjong Day. It happens each year on April 30.

Mahjong is the famous tile-based game that has been around since about the 18th century in China.

It remains a popular diversion internationally and particularly throughout the Asia. It is a four-player game but can be played alone on a computer. Mahjong features a set of 144 tiles originally based on Chinese characters and symbols.
