National Lazy Day 2026

My paternal grandfather used to call me lazy. The term he used was "lazy heifer". The fact that he compared me to a female of the bovine species is neither here nor there.

I have NO fond memories of him and could have lived my ENTIRE life having never met his fat crass insipid inbred countrified ass.

So, having been stamped thusly you might gather that I am a little sensitive when someone refers to me as lazy. To those people I point to my success in retirement and lay low for the kill if anyone gets in my face, unaware or not.

Today is National Lazy Day.

It is a day set aside to rest and do nothing productive.

National Lazy Day goes down each August 10th.

It is said to be guilt-free encourages people to slow down, skip minor chores, avoid heavy work, and embrace total relaxation.

No one knows who started the day or when it first began. Probably someone whose grandfather chose to humiliate him at ever turn.

So do what you may do on this day of idle existence.

I for one intend to be busy all day.
