National Laura Day 2023

We lost my dear Auntie Laura on January 15, 2022 due to an illness which brought great suffering to her for which I personally could do nothing — despite my efforts to take her to Baylor Medical Center in Texas where I perceived better medical care was available.

Today is National Laura Day. It happens each December 23 annually.

By and large the name Laura is a female name. I have never met a man named Laura.

The name Laura is a reference to strength and victory.

I only wish my Auntie Laura had been able to declare victory over her illness instead of being forced to succumb to it. We have missed her greatly since her passing.

No one could put on a meal or whip up a bunch of Christmas treats in the same manner as she.

Rest in peace Auntie Laura. Each successive year without you does not get easier.
