National Kids and Pets Day 2026

There's even a day marking the relationship called National Kids and Pets Day which is observed each April 26 since 2005.
This day was founded by one Colleen Paige to promote that bond between children and animals while raising awareness for shelter pet adoption.
It focuses on teaching safety, responsible pet ownership, and the proper care of animals to children.
The day serves as a reminder that proper training and supervision for both kids and pets are the basis for lifelong, positive relationships between children and pets.
