Yes, I have been known to eat my fair share of junk food over the years.
As much as I would like to project that image of the nutritional pillar staunch in the food groups and avoiding all 'empty calories' I'm afraid it's simply not me.
High in fats, sugars, salt, and calories the junk food genre began back in the 1950s and I remember getting a cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate shake for something like 80 cents.
Now when you go into MacDonalds you see some little idiot child supposedly there to help the customer standing obliviously.
Worse, in some locations the children of employees engage panhandling the customers while they're trying to eat.
Suffice it to say, I had my fill of all that long ago.
Today is National Junk Food Day. It is ostensibly a day when you may eat whatever floats your boat without fear of nutritional faux pas and therefore NO guilt !
But beware of the trap that easy fatty sweet salty calorie laden quick meals may place you within.
There are people with food addictions which surpass the worst drug addictions in their severity and impact upon the consumer.
Try to eat to live, not live to eat.
Happy National Junk Food Day !
