I've had a few heroes in my life over the years. Those who have gone beyond the requirements to a level of interaction and support surpassed by little else in my existence. I once had a rather narrow definition of hero stemming from my comic book era and the capes and costumes and so forth ...
Be all of this as it may I now know that heroes may be common humans who pursue excellence and compassion in their support of human endeavors and as such I admire them more than any of the fictional heroes which began my thoughts of them all.
There are altruistic individuals who sacrifice all or part of themselves in the name of saving others. There are poor people who give what little they have in the name of comfort for the down trodden. There are those who give of themselves overwhelmingly to others in the name of their humanity and that they wish to share.
Yes, were I a hero I would pursue such matters. Alas, I am not a hero and daudle in this existence trying to find meaning in the fray.
So today is National Heroes Day. Each October 8 we in the US celebrate the hero. Our heroes. Those sigificant to these existences we eek out of a democrat landscape where the so-called "ruling class" seeks to take over everything on the planet.
The day has been being observed since 2020 and is known by many iterations internationally.
So if you have a hero this is the day to make your appreciation known to them.
