National Give Something Away Day 2026

It happens each July 15.
It encourages declutter, the sharing of blessings, and the practice of generosity.
Such are the ways of ulterior motive.
They need things for resale and convincing you that you don't need them is winning the battle.
My niece says I'm a packrat. How can this be when I regularly cart stuff off and discard them to Goodwill.
It's about donating item, time, and kindness to those in need.
Giving triggers positive mental benefits and contributes to a stronger, more supportive neighborhood.
Thank you but my generosity is limited in the rudeness of corporate entities such as the Lakeview Mortgage assholes and other rude stupid entities that the world could largely do without.
I am however generous in the field of donations of merchandise to Goodwill and charities in general.
So if you want to give something away this certainly is a good day for it.
