National Girlfriend Day 2026

I've had my fair share of girlfriends. I've cavorted with intellectuals and earthy common place women. I've been with barhops and waitresses and all manner of healthcare and service industry types.

All and all I have to say they were just fine and dandy with me even though I didn't proceed into history with any of them.

Today is National Girlfriend Day.

It is observed each August 1st since the early 2000s and is an unofficial holiday used to celebrate both close female friendships (gal pals and best friends) and romantic female partners, aka 'rug munchers R Us'. Oh baby I'd suck ya like a neck bone ...

I think the platonic same sex interactions are fine and dandy. I do not personally believe in the erotic same sex relationships because I find them personally repulsive.

Some call this a "National Friend Day" and make it Female focused. Some call it "Gal Pal Day" which I think is quite humorous. Others the more formal Women's Friendship Day in various contexts.

Regardless, if you're a boy with a girl or a girl in your very own pack of women — more power to you.
