National Creamsicle Day 2026

National Creamsicle Day 2026
I remember my first creamsicle.
It was called a "dreamsicle" and consisted of orange sherbet over a bar of vanilla ice cream and a single stick in the bottom.
Today is National Creamsicle Day.
It is an unofficial food holiday celebrated annually on August 14th.
It celebrates classic frozen dessert consisting of vanilla ice cream on a stick coated with a layer of orange sherbet.
Thus began the misallocation of lunch money funds for other things during school hours.
My mother would be aghast if she new about all the junk food I consumed with the daily lunch money she gave me.
Regardless, orange sherbet and ice cream remind me of my childhood in Aragona Village at Virginia Beach to this day.
I have been known to buy a quart of the stuff with groceries and sit before the telly and consume the container in it's entirety. Mmmmmmmm ...
Happy creamsicle day to you regardless of what you may call it personally.
