My comic book heyday was around 1965 - 1967 at George R Fishburne Elementary School in Hanahan SC. I had friends who shared their collections with me inspiring me to spend hours and hours reading them and re-reading them to my heart's content. I only wish I could recall everybody's names.

Today is National Comic Book Day.

It is observed on September 25 to honor the artistic merit, artists, and stories contained within comic books.

The genre was given rise in popular culture in the United States. They are aka comic magazines.

In general they feature drawn sequential and opposing panels representing individual scenes. Each scene often includes descriptive prose and written narratives. When placed together, the panels form a complete story or a portion of a serial.

People who collect comic books are referred to as pannapictagraphists.

Though I was very interested in comic books for a significant portion of my childhood I am happy to say I moved on long ago. Now I attend the movies which feature live versions of these characters which I continue to enjoy.
